In 1989 a skin doctor put me on tetracycline and I was on them until 2003. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 1996 and that doctor never asked me if I was on any antibiotics. These two doctors nearly killed me until I figured it. I was talking to my primary care doctor about the UC and that they wanted to knock out my immune system and he said do you think the drugs you are on are helping you. I said no and he said quit taking them. That included prednisone in high dosages and Prilosec . When I quit slowly I started to feel better. While I reversed most of the damage done to me by the drugs I am left with Chronic pain.
I suffered from serious acid reflux for over 15 years and had to take antacids multiple times per week to combat it. I was completely cured by chance when I went on a zero-sugar, alcohol, and grains diet for 60 days. I must have had a candida issue. I have been acid reflux-free for about 7 years.

Then I went on a lectin free diet (2 years later I am still staying away almost from all the lectin foods as some give me sensitivity). I never reacted to gluten and I still dont, but What I react to is glaphisade. Most people are intolerant of that, not gluten. I fast long and don't snack, with a rare occasion as an exception (and with something like nuts or protein/fat). I break my fast with a good source of protein to keep long lasting energy, I make my own walnut milk at home to add to my coffee in the morning (no sweeteners) but I can drink it black too with MCT oil. No dairy since 2017, just tried last night caseinA2 kefir to see if its the lactose or the protein I'm intolerant of. No more dairy experiments for me 😒 I regulated my sleep, decreased my devices use, became better at managing stress. And the last change was quitting alcohol, marking a year of full sobriety. I do not take any pills, just vitamins that are essential for AI (D3, MG, Zn). I had a toxicity report done. Although I am not high on mercury, arsenic but the general presents of them in blood is concerning. Some people have it at very high levels. And all that made a huge difference in 2 years, my antibodies are close to the remission and I reversed almost all the symptoms I had including regrowing my hair, eye brows and my skin is glowing. I rarely ever have dry eyes now but had it badly before with a use of eye drops frequently, I think alchohol what caused that.

I do eat Sauerkraut and Kimchi each day but only for their health benefits because they do nothing to make me feel any kind of satiety. I'm in the same page, the root cause of mine is prolonged stress in the past and maybe antibiotics and stupid treatments by the "doctors". Many people deal well with stress and recover after antibiotics. But if someone has been exposed to lots of stress in the childhood or a major stressful event in the past, then the brain-gut system can be damaged and fixing is not easy, something has to be regenerated and that requires complex approach and lot of time and may be life-long. Now any little stressful task, or too much coffee, or some alcohol do make my IBS go nuts. Vitamins and supplements do very little if anything, I tired megadoses of B1 (benfo, thiamax), probiotics, vitamin D+K, ashwagandha, calming herbs, etc. wasted lots of money on supplements, close to 0 difference. However keto-carnivore-whole food diet helped me to survive, because I was almost dying few years ago from gut pains and sleepless life. So food seems to be very important, beef is the most effective for me, if you are a vegan, that's unfortunate, I would switch to carnivore. Then anything that relaxes: lots of sleep, enjoyable exercise and activites, socializing with nice people, positive attitude, acceptance, thankfulness, satisfaction at work or in other projects, these all help slowly to heal, or at least to survive.

I find it's such a strange thing that people take a fist-full of pills after a meal. That has always been irritating to the top of my stomach. I always take pills with the first bites of a meal resulting in zero discomfort.
Unfortunately Seed probiotic uses inulin for a prebiotic which is good for probiotics, but it’s also helpful to Citrobacter and Klebsiella. Not so good.
I been eating rhings with inulin like chicory root. Ive been pretty much fine, what is qrong with citrobactor? I know Klebsiella is a problematic bad behaved bacteria tho
I recently started taking Advil during the 2-3 days around my menstrual cycle. I eat a full meal, and then some yogurt or milk product right after (before taking the 2 Advil). No stomach issues and it is effective.
Excess fructose gives me osmotic diarrhea. Not immediately but always the next morning. Tropical fruit and stone fruits like peaches/cherries/plums also wreck me if I have too much. I love honey but it doesn't love me.
one of the chief villains in erosion of the gut lining is the emulsifiers found in many processed foods like polysorbate 80, carboxymethylcellulose, etc.
The only reason to seek out lean cuts of meat would be to account for trace toxins in the fat? Otherwise the Omega 3 DHA/EPA, COq10, etc within is irrelevant? and the fact of the matter is fat is generally a cofactor to the protein utilization?

The idea is different helpful bacteria have different fibre preferences. So even if you can't tolerate a lot of fibrous foods, having a little bit of many kinds, often, makes sure your microbiome is fit and healthy (and therefore your gut and immune system). I did Kirsten Greenes gut program and she had charts we had to tick off to teach us to include more types of fibre. It was definitely a challenge until I got the hang of it! For example I'd have just 2 spinach leaves, or 5 blueberries, in one sitting, to train my gut to break them down without too much bloating or pain. I can tolerate a lot more food now, was well worth it. I eat the meat and fats for me, I eat the fibres for my gut. I think of them as a pet you have to feed lol

This was great to watch. Straight and to the point. Have her on again. 😊
Very good video. Concise and lots of great info
great video, useful information. thank you both!
Thanks so much for watching!
What a great interview and a lovely woman! Thank you for sharing. Very helpful and informative ❤
the little "ok!" before she launches into each section is lowkey adorable haha
What about emulsifiers, additives, GRAS, etc.?
Great video. Very informative. Thanks!
"That's a great question"
Came here to say this 😂
she nervous :d that's fine

1. How can I effectively restore my gut biom?
2. Should I really take antibiotic, even if my doctor tell me so? If it had so much side effects?
What do you recommend for dogs?
thats such a great question
...Great show,
..... learned a lot..
.......... Me, too...
This is great, hooray TD!
Can I get a gut micro biome test - what is that called or the best test ?
I like the GI Effects stool profile by Genova Diagnostics.
Great episode!
Wow two of my favourite health and diet people together 🎉 bless you both ❤
Very useful 👌💪.thanks
Great logic in the first 30 secs from the Expert where someone who is allergy to Almond and drinking it everyday.
Thank you RUclips
sweet, two of my fave health podcasters talking to each other :)
Mary ruddick says the opposite about diverse food intake. Indigenous sometimes only eat 3-5 foods! They have excellent microbiome
The most important thing I learned is that you ask very good questions
What about xylitol as an alternative sweetener?
Thank you very much for the valuable information! I've been researching for some time and I couldn't find an answer to how the probiotics are going to survive the hostile environment in the stomach if they are going to spoil if they aren't in a fridge
I took Omeprazole for 20 years or so, and my doctor said NOTHING about long term consequences. I stopped taking them last year and also stopped eating my trigger foods (like Dominos pizza) and had no real issues quitting that med.
Dominos pizza must have so much processed ingredients. Emulsifiers etc - terrible acid reflux every time but not with home made pizza - ever again
The pizza they make, when I tried it, I had immediate mucus. Not a good thing.
Call me crazy but my gut feels good after doing cold plunge in the mornings, also a 39 day veggie juice cleanse really healed me up, then mostly it’s diet and never smoke or drink alcohol.
Your guest mentioned Stevia and Monk Fruit as being good, but erythritol on the bad list. Last time I checked the ingredients list on a bag of Monk Fruit, the only ingredient was erythritol. What gives with that?
How does one diversify their diet during an elimination diet? She said both are good.
she is amazing!!!!!
So if my IGE is 686 it might not be environmental allergy but could be a food that i eat often?
I was alergic to almond milk but didn't know. I went to the dermatologist and they couldn't help me but later I stopped drinking it and the rash went away 😮.
I'm still searching for a replacement for bread. Tried tortillas but blah! I ended up throwing them into the compost. I do eat Sauerkraut and Kimchi each day but only for their health benefits because they do nothing to make me feel any kind of satiety. I'm using L Glutamine and it seems to be really making a difference for acid reflux. Haven't taken a PPI for over 5 months now.
i have gi issues for 6 years now and i don't know WTH is going on cause ive seen 5 different MDS and they all told me it's just IBS and im going to have good and bad days .ive tried a deit for 2 weeks where i stopped all prossced food, sugar, bread , pasta, dairy and i ate fruit ,veggies, lean protien , super low carb white rice was the only carb i had about 3 times a week and nothing changed the only thing that was different was i was hungary all the time . i went to a different clinic and had a stool test done and they said it looked really good my good gut bacteria was nice and high . this all started with heartburn ounce a week then turned into daily acid reflux and now i feel stuck with no end in site . any help , tips or advice would be great thanks
@@MegaVishapI can eat fish and eggs, can’t stand meat.

The sugar king(s) need to be held accountable for putting their product in every dang thing. Including the corn king(s) fructose corn syrup. Their profit over health is appalling/criminal!
I find it's such a strange thing that people take a fist-full of pills after a meal. That has always been irritating to the top of my stomach. I always take pills with the first bites of a meal resulting in zero discomfort.
I've seen mention lately of dish detergent as a mucosal dissolver. Got to be careful about here silverware, plates, cups, etc
Food poisoning such as salmonella poisoning is destructive on the digestive system. Lasting days before complete recovery.
Avoid sugar from today
The only reason to seek out lean cuts of meat would be to account for trace toxins in the fat? Otherwise the Omega 3 DHA/EPA, COq10, etc within is irrelevant? and the fact of the matter is fat is generally a cofactor to the protein utilization?
It’s not snacking that causes bloating. It’s the actual food that causes bloating
I Did 38 hours fasting to this morning to long for me start to feel very week at 24 hours I was very okej..
👍🏽👍🏽 Great video! I have a request for you to sit and discuss women's health with Dr.Mindy Pelz, please💛.
I think I should learn to take better care of my stomach.
Yep, when I take antibiotics and don't do probiotics with them, my stomach is wrecked.
i think a person could safely drink a bottle of wine per month?? with little long term negative health issues?? U have to balance life not to get to 120 years, but to avoid cancer and be happy.
Alright what next? Great question. Avoid everything.
Surprised we didn't hear anything about Allulose here.
I have methane Sibo... it sucks. Listen to her
i really would like to know what is the best advice for drink just a little bit of alcohol. I have stopped but had one beer the other day being social, so question really is is one drink of white spirits better than one beer, like once every other month?
I think it is fine, but give time to detox. Maybe a week.
@@ricky4673 you havent answered my question at all, i want to know if its better for the gut to drink a shot of white spirits or 1 beer?
I hear a Lager beer is okay for digestion and the alcohol percentage of a beer is between 4-10 and beer is the lowest compared to other drinks.
@@BLACKBOX2TURK but she said beer and wine create suger in the gut and suger is the 3rd worse thing... thats why i really want to know if im going to have one am i bettter to ahve one gin and soda or one beer which has glutin and other things?

Can someone explain in words what “gut inflammation “ expresses itself like ?
The first sign of an unhealthy gut is issues with your skin. This could be acne, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, discoloration, etc.
I want the book!!!!!
Diet sodas = pesticides
@5:38, so, she's against sugar, BUT, she thinks eating bananas (which is practically sugar, and engineered to be as sweet as possible) is a good idea. Hmmm
She mentioned added sugars(refined) not natural sugars from fruit
@@EverythingFilmmaking
(Oh boy, here we go).... Even her own video on SIFO shows that you must cut out FRUIT (since fruit sugar fuels Candida) if you want to remove Candida from the gut. ... And i seriously doubt that the Bad bacteria in the gut are pickier eaters than the Candida. So yeah, she is contradicting herself.
I felt OK until she brought up "eating the same thing every day." I eat ground beef and eggs almost every single day. My hope is that if I eat a diverse array of other foods, perhaps I will be OK?
For artificial sweetners, she didn't mention allulose

Why do you have so many commercials?
17 ts of sugar is around 80-90 gramms. That's a lot.
Yes indeed! Thanks for watching.
what about xilitol?
How about the monkfruit?
Monk fruit is not artificial! It's not bad.
"these are the people with burping and belching"
Just as I need to sit up in my bed to belch... Yep should probably start on thise enzymes again
She doesn't like allulose??? It is a natural sugar, appetite suppressant, and prebiotic.
I love that she wore PJs for this interview
You're bringing her new ones this month?
