- First off a massive thanks to @hatter_jbk for trusting me to ride his bike. I had a chance to have a quick spin on a 2013 Victory Cross Roads Classic so of course I jumped at the opportunity! Any bike is worth a spin, even a Victory vision......maybe!!

Mental State: I don't own near enough bikes.
#Victory #crossroads #indian
The Victory Cross Country was my favourite bagger. I would still own one today if one came available at a good price.
They're a beauty, I'm just not sure I want to go for something that heavy at the moment, I like the agility a lighter bike offers! Are they very rare over yonder? Quite available here!
There’s one on market place rn for 7k with 12k miles
Theres one available where u from??

That was so awesome Ride bro. Keep it up and more vidz to come. RIDE SAFE ALWAYS brother 🙏☝️😊❤️
Thanks bud! You too!
And this is why we have been telling you to buy the Victory brand on the Discord ;)
Nah I'll just buy an Africa Twin and a GSXR :P
A badge on a bike means very little to me, however, I’ve never felt as badass as when riding a Harley Davidson.
You don't need a badge to be a badass. You have that all by your lonesome.
Well, if you can't have a "land yacht" in NC, USA, where can you?!! Nice ride. OC - like the highball but Mr Hatter's Cross Roads looks really cool with the bags and all. Now, the Africa Twin, I think I get it for the next bike. Ride position for long rides, luggage potential, reliability and some off road fun makes a lot of sense (oops, that sounds almost grown up, sorry!). Oh, and it has no beak!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, I know you'll enjoy choosing, keep em coming, cheers, Andy.
Haha very true eh :D It's a really nice area out there, wish I was slightly closer to it :P Yeah the Highball made sense financially but I do think going for something with those hard bags etc is a great shout if you're getting a big cruiser machine anyway!
I'm strongly considering an Africa Twin, the thought of spending enough to buy a 2019 Adventure sports kind of makes me feel ill though :D Yeah it's kind of a brilliant choice all round :P Haha not at all :D Thanks Andy :)
The Wile E. Coyote is a nice touch! Love the jugs on the Victorys, so beautiful. Now where's Hatter's experience on your CB?
It is isn't it :D Best way to fix a dent :D It's a properly pretty bike to be fair! His experience was "This doesn't fit my knees" and that was that sadly. It is fairly cramped :D
Yeah, my knees basically decided my experience stopped at sitting on the motorcycle. It made a half decent stool to sit on for a bit while waiting for GB to get back with my bike, I suppose. 😆
Love that Victory.... Makes me miss my big VN1600. Definitely rear bake required. Great Vlog 👍🏻👍🏻
Think you should get a Rocket 3
It's a lovely bike, very comfy and kind of whooshes along :D Thanks bud :P Haha if I win a heap of cash I might, they don't fit me very well sadly!
Good review on the victory. A couple of years ago I bought my neighbour's full dress Vulcan Voyageur when he bought a new Indian Chief.
It was the most comfortable bike I have ever owned but. I just could not get on with the forward controls and the weight. Almost 900 lbs. I really started to hate it
If I was going 600 kms in a day it might work but one thing I found was regardless of how comfortable the seat was you were stuck in that riding position. If the road got rough you felt every bump in your spine. On my Tracer or V-Strom I can stand on the pegs or move around on the saddle. Really wanted to love the bike. It had everything on it. Stereo, cruise control navigation etc. But I just never could jell with the big cruisers.
You're talking about the AT again
Honestly you should try a 2014 or newer V-Strom 1000 . Handles way better than an AT and significantly less money to boot. I sold mine last year to buy the Tracer GT which I love. But I bought it back when the new owner decided to sell two months later because he and his wife were having a baby.
No regrets
Danke sir. Ah nice! Yeah the weight is just massive, I think for the likes of us who are used to the more agile bikes it's just a hard sell. Once of my favorite things about bikes is how useable and light they are. Forwards are nice for my bad hip but I prefer mids for the feel.
I think you can comfortably pull 600km days on bigger ADV bikes these days too, so I think it's coming down to a style choice for long range touring really. And all those extras you mentioned, none of which I'd be mad for, especially a stereo :D
I am......there's a 2019 adventure sports available and I'm very tempted, it's just a huge amount of money.
If I could find one I liked the look of I'd definitely give it a go, I love the look of the AT as well is the issue.
Ah nice, two great bikes then :) Would you prefer the Tracer or the Strom?
@@TheGorillaBiker That's a tough one. The Strom handles well but the tracer is a sports bike in touring cloths. but for long trips like to the coast and back it would be the Strom. I have a custom saddle and other comfort mods on the big Strom that just makes it that bit more comfortable for long days.
Sorry Ian I must not have hit send on the reply, you helped make up my mind on something is all I'll say 😂
I think it suits you. It wouldn't work in Ireland but it seems to work in the US.
It'd definitely be an option here, but I think I'd miss the agility yano, I'm thinking of losing my mind and buying a 2019 Africa twin, mad money but sure I could be dead in a few years and all that. Honestly massively torn as I hate spending big money on things like that.
How's the RE?
@@TheGorillaBiker The RE is great. Hoping to take my missus out on it soon & have a few trips planned. Just trying to get the motivation to go for a ride. Its tough this time of year
Bike sounds great.
There's a very nice purr off of it in fairness :)
Glad your getting on in the americasss
Haha love the name, so far so good anyway!!
Those roads are super quiet. Did you even meet one car in this video?
I'm actually not sure did I while I was on the Victory, I don't think so :D
Can you please never say "spready" again kthx. Get a big ole cruiser for sure. Maybe a beastly one.... who knows. "I want a bike that wants to murder me" - GB. I think a victory would be a good bike on the channel. I would just put bags on the VTX or back on the Valkyrie if I had to bagger out a bike.
Oh dear......now I'll have to integrate spready in to all of my videos :D I don't think I will, I'm firmly leaning towards a taller ADV, it'll be a bit sportier and still be able to tour very happily. We'll see :P You know how undecided I am :D
I do. Bikes that attempt to kill me are my favorites, is that a personality flaw? Maybe. Yeah the VTX is ready to go with some bags to be fair. You could make some alu hard cases, that'd be sick.
In my defense, I did tell him to actually twist the throttle the next time he gets a shot to ride my bike. I could hear the poor thing yawning. I also have my foot pegs set more as toe rests than some OBGYN examination chair position....I don't want to know how or why he was doing spreadies on the bike. 🙂
I'm respectful of others bikes :P Hahaha those pegs are set in full spready position. :P
@@TheGorillaBiker We may have discovered why my legs don't fit in that scrunched position on your CB.... 😛
Yamaha xt1200ze super tenere for the adventure bike had a Africa twin for a few months as loaner....I so glad to get super tenere back a much better bike and yes I'm a big framed lad aswell..😉
I've always liked the Super Tenere......:P It's much better on the road but a much better bike all round, the AT is a beast to be fair so I dunno on that one! But as a road bike yes, cast wheels alone would win out for me :)
Attempted to ride the CB. My stupid garbage knees put a quick end to that plan.
Dodgey knees are never nice, rules me out of really odd bikes with my right knee and hip, some bikes just make them instantly lock.
Victory definitely has better ride than Harley coming from 13 soft tail maybe because I am 6’4. Currently own boardwalk.
I'm sure there are some Harley models than are nice and agile, I recently got to ride a Pan America and a lowrider s, both were very nice. But for it's size that crossroads can certainly hustle! Ah nice :) I nearly bought a highball recently but couldn't do it in the end sadly.
An interesting ride. The "cruiser " dilemma. Why don't the essentials apply to all classifications. Ground clearance, brakes, a seat you can sit on, lights that light things up. Shouldn't all bikes have those basic things ? Still think you must try a Buell, and a Vrod...... In the end heart must rule head lol. 👍
I agree, I don't like that so many bike styles sacrifice so many things I want to have in a bike.
I've ridden a very broken Vrod recently, not a fair test really :D Cool bikes but a bit small for me I think, once I find a Buell to try I will.
Always preferred the Victory to Harley. Probably more suited to the roads over there. Listening hard but don't detect an American accent yet.....
From everything I've seen I do too, just a very well put together set of bikes, apart from the vision :P Haha you'll likely be waiting a while :D The nice thing about here is people from all over the US live here, mad different accents and cultures which is really cool!
Adventure bike if want a "one bike does all". KTM 1090
I'm between the Africa twin and the tenere 700, I've known too many people who've had massive issues with KTMs to chance one tbh.
@The GorillaBiker oh really? Ive had 3 KTM's and very few issues. ive had 16 bikes over the last 10 years. KTM's are awesome. Vstrom 1000 was another great one if you want something a little tamer. handles on the road much better than an Africa Twin and is still great on gravel roads.have also had Victory Hammer and a Victory Vegas (106) with Lloydz cam and dynotuned. 120 hp, 120 torque. Great bikes.
Yep, one buddy required a new engine basically on his 890. I'll still try one at some point as I don't get scared off bikes very easily :D Wait until next week and you'll see what I got :P
Victorys are class bikes, I nearly had that High ball bought, still disappointed I couldn't make that happen.
i like mine ..except for the mirrors .. they are small, dont line up right and move too easy
Interesting, any way to change them to something aftermarket?
@@TheGorillaBiker i have no idea. im just a dumbass who bought a cool bike ten years ago cause it looked cool ... :P
Hahahahaha fair enough, and I respect the honesty :D
Vstrom
I may or may not be looking at one
My man…I cannot stand listening to you talk
I made it 4 minutes
Ok.....ehhh....not sure the value in telling me this then as my channel is clearly not for you eh? 😂 Best of luck bud!
