  • A jury found the three white men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, guilty on most of the 29 charges they faced the day before Thanksgiving.
    More trial coverage, here: www.11alive.co...
Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

For two months Amaud's mom called the police station asking what happened to her son and they kept telling her "He was shot while committing a burglary." The defendants and the lawyers are too arrogant for that, especially the McMichaels. I think another reason the lawyers didn't show contrition was because to show contrition would make it appear that they did something wrong to be contrite about. They didn't want to admit they were wrong. For them, it was about assigning blame and making Ahmaud out to be the guilty party.

Never change America - I see people moan about the American judicial system but believe me you wouldn't want to live under the judicial system we have here in England.
OK your court system may be deemed too harsh on people when they are convicted of lesser crimes, ive seen people sentenced to astounding amounts of time for cannabis in the past etc but for taking someone's life away your system is spot on.
When I was growing up (1992) my mums best friend was kidnapped by a group of people we knew and had even been on holiday with, they tortured her for a week, shaved her head, raped her, beat her, put her in a bath of bleach, stubbed cigarettes out on her body and then finally they took her to a secluded spot, doused her in petrol and set her on fire, she lived long enough to tell the police who done it to her and then she died from 90% burns and multi organ failure.
All of her killers are walking free today and it turns my stomach, they should have all spent the rest of their lives behind bars but our system is way too soft.
Life without parole or a whole life order as its known here is very rarely handed out, we have cold blooded murderers walking our streets and that's just not right.
These guys chased down and murdered Ahmaud Arbery when they didn't need to, Mr Arbery didnt threaten the life of anyone, didn't threaten to hurt anyone and in fact the only testimony is that they thought he was trying to steal ... that doesn't warrant being chased and blasted to death, I'm glad they got the maximum without parole, they ought to be thankful they still get to breathe and see their families because its much more than they afforded Mr Arbery.
If anyone is interested the case I'm talking about is Suzanne Capper, search "murder of Suzanne Capper" and you'll see just how disgusting it was.

Wait on the civil trial. The true "good men with good souls will come forth.
They don't want that trial to happen. Put the tag back on the truck that Ahmaud saw while being chased. Why worry? People offered to put up their homes, give thousands of dollars for the clowns. They surely will take care of his household.
