This is how, after playing the guitar for 17 years, I've figured out how I want to express myself through this instrument and Mr.Timmons has shown me the way...... Almost religious like haha!! Sick...
This couldn't have come at a better time! I spent all morning searching for new Andy Timmons videos and now this showed up my news feed. Didn't like the sound as much as when he uses the Lonestar, but it's always a thumbs up for Andy!
Nunzio Annunziata I'll be honest, I'm good at recognizing different tones, but I'm not trained in recognizing different frequencies, because I've never learned any of that....so, I'm sure there is plenty of people here who can explain it better than me.... But I'm guessing the Lonestar has a lot less mids, a little less treble and more bass.... Andy says it had a ridiculous amount of bass and very few hard frequencies. He says it has an incredibly thick gain tone, that he had to use pedals to achieve in the past. But this amp has more classic / vintage tones. I'm sure there is someone here in the comments who will tell me I'm completely wrong...
@@Indiegaze this amp seems very mid focused.. Which makes sense according to your own analysis: by the video, we see that Andy put the Mids on 0.. Perhaps, in order to achieve a similar tone to its Lonestar one.
@@NuZTheRockerOFFICIAL Lol....I'm an idiot...I watched the video again and apparently I didn't even notice that the settings was right there on the bottom of the screen...lol.... But Andy has many videos where he goes through the settings on his Lonestar... I, personally always thought his Lonestar was great, but I think he would sound even more amazing through a Two-Rock.
I had lone star, now this 50 - both are wonderful amps... this has become my favorite especially with my Collins lp with its Lollars humbuckers ..... creamy creamy thick sound with no pedals !
After two years of research and waiting, this is the amp for me. It seems like it will do everything I need it to do for my style of playing and music. What a breathtaking sound.
Mesa amps have really weird EQ sections. If you go off what the knobs say it makes no sense, but listen to his tone, there is obviously plenty of midrange, at least in his distorted tones.
Good question, Brandon - likely part of the reason that was the sound/settings that got dialed in has at least something to do with the fact that Andy was sitting mostly behind the amp and that's where it sounded good to him based on what was kind of a small room with lots of quick reflections off the back wall (which is only about 8 feet away from the amp). It's understandable that some might wonder why mids would be that low, BUT... 1) there's no shortage of mids in the Fillmore, 2) Pristine cleans can sound beautiful scooped like this due to the range and taper of the mid control, and 3) the multitude of everything else that makes up the sound that someone hears in a RUclips video is along list of things. And, maybe 4) Like what Michael Hughes says that we have weird EQ sections in some of our amps.... haha! Not always the case, but... :)
An overdrive pedal by itself does nothing. Plug it in to a good amp and you got something. You can also run an overdrive in front of this tone and add to it....
@@SuperHotrod4 I definitely agree, the Lonestar is leagues better in my opinion. But I think the Fillmore serves a different kinda purpose. This is more like a lost cousin to the Fender Blackface series, whereas the Lonestar is like Mark meets Dumble meets Plexi? lol
Enjoyed the video but sure wish guitar and amp companies would demo their wares without all the bells and whistles (effects). Just guitar plugged into amp. 😢
Hi Eric - Thanks for your comment/suggestion, and... we do! Here: ruclips.net/video/s3mPpdsTnks/видео.html We do lots of different styles of videos. Our official demos tend to have little to no effects to emphasize the tone(s) of the amp, while we also offer performance style videos that include what the amp sounds like in a full mix, OR - in this case, what the amp sounds like by itself not in a mix, but with FX. Also - when an artist like Andy is performing/demo'ing for us, we defer to what the player feels comfortable playing - and in this case, Andy wanted to perform this song for us with the tone he plays with and it's a huge part of his sound. Anyway - hope this helps and hope the official demo vid gives you a bit more info that you're looking for. Thanks for your interest and thanks for watching!
Exactly how does an amplifier demonstration bring tears to my eyes ?

Only one guy sounding like the whole band playing, Andy Timmons ❤❤
Andy Timmons is The King Of Tone. Stunning playing.
one of the most grossly underrated guitar wizards.
This dude will make anything sound good 👍🏼
lolll hes playing the best guitar and amp ever made.

How would you describe the tonal differences between the two amps?

I’ve been playing guitar for 30 years... if I can ever play something that resonates like this....that’s all I want,
I had lone star, now this 50 - both are wonderful amps... this has become my favorite especially with my Collins lp with its Lollars humbuckers ..... creamy creamy thick sound with no pedals !
His dynamics and life he gives each note is incredible
Incredible playing!
I bought one, sounds nothing like that 😂
Andy Timmons - you never cease to amaze me.
Andy makes everything sound fantastic !!!
Great tune, great sound, great player. Nice to see Timmons making a good living these days and for the longest time.
he really deserves it!
King of tone.
Sweet tones. One of my favorite players ever.
I'm not that familiar with Andy's playing but after hearing this - I need to be! Great amp Mesa!
After two years of research and waiting, this is the amp for me. It seems like it will do everything I need it to do for my style of playing and music. What a breathtaking sound.
This will be my next amp.
Mesa continues to innovate!!! Thank You.
Andy always sounds like Andy. Amazing.
using Andy for amp reviews is cheating!
Yup. Sorta. He's another one like Robben Ford. Dont matter what he's holding or plugged into he always sounds like Andy Timmons. In his hands i guess.
Sad but Amazing tune, thank you Andy and Mesa
Love Andy! Now I love the Fillmore too:)
What a tone as usual, I love Andy! 💪
Beautiful tones and playing!
Thank you kindly!
Cant get enough on this... dem feels!
It reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth Lullaby.
Beautifully done Andy. Thank you sir.
No
Mids!!! Mind blown
Andy is finally back from Brazil!
Wow that amp sounds killer. Was already a Mesa Fan but damn....just incredible.
Absolutely Stellar.....
AMAZING!!
Wow! Andy’s new amp 👌
Just...amazing!
Amazing! Andy is the #1
That was beautiful
Andy is awesome
What a song!!!! The melody is so deep and beautiful. Thanks Andy as always ❤️
Astonishing!
Wow cool a Fender
The tone is on he fingers!!
Top sound
I think he didn't use compressor. How come the dynamic is so great
Well that was awesome and I know where my tax return will be going now. Where’s the demo of Andy with the TC-100???
Excellent sound..
wow.... andy and fender strat 64
1 thumb down? Who can you not like this performance and tone?
Magic!
Grande Mr Andy
Andy, I love you... (i love mesa too)
They told me that day would never come
One day... I will get there!
great video... Thank you!
He just looks at home with a Strat
ya but what about the echo ? what delay is that making it sound so cool !
Strymon Timeline
Shocked by the mids being so low!
sweet juicy tone
What type or model microphone is the red one that Mesa seems to use regularly for their amp demos? Sounds good to me. Thx!
Shure KSM 313. It's a $1300 mic, and well worth it.
@@vincelupone thanks!

I came.
First. Yesssss.
😱😱😱😱
Somehow Andy with a Fender doesn't look wrong!
chumpy He has played a Tele quite a bit but I’ve never seen him with a Strat.
Andy belongs to a limited circle of guitar players that doesnt kill the vibe of a song with too many unnecessary notes.
This is an excellent observation. I like shreddy, but too much shreddy gets old. It really does. AT strikes that perfect balance .
Andy using Fender now?
He uses a Strat sometimes.. When he plays this one, especially. This particular Strat is present in every video of him playing this song.
...Mesa Remington...
Prefiero el sonido de esta stratocaster, suena mucho mejor que la Ibanez obvio.
Sí, definitivamente. Pero también el sonido que le saca a su Ibanez es otra cosa
What Mic is that Andy?
Shure KSM 313 and SM57. :)
@@mesaboogie thank you! Lord bless you and yours!
Sounds really good, but what’s with the mids being at zero?????

He's going for the no mids, all the gain, metal zone, SLAYEEERRRRR tone
@@hammyjammies Jeff Hanneman boosts his mids tho 😂
hahahaha! :)

sounds like glass
That was awesome. He needs to use that guitar more. Way better than his sig.
How can you say that?
His *Silver Sky* looks weird.
a. Lullaby it’s a knock-off by a different company, so they had to change it up a bit.
Yeah the headstock looks like crap 😂
Yeah, the Silver Sky’s pickups would’ve sounded fatter with more mids.
Tim is going back to the Strat🤪
Ma chi sono le 11 persone che hanno messo il pollice in giù.
Andy please, use Fender Strat, better sounds !!
Andy is so tasteful....seasoned player
not sure I would buy an amp to do what any OD pedal can do?
An overdrive pedal by itself does nothing. Plug it in to a good amp and you got something. You can also run an overdrive in front of this tone and add to it....
Love Andy! But this amp is not even close to the body and roundness of the Lonestar. This sounds more like my Blues Jr.
Glad to see this, I have a Lonestar combo, was wondering if it would be worth it to get the Fillmore and sell my Lonestar.
@@ColtonRhody Lonestar is way better
