There are some points of the questline that drag, but it has such incredible highlights that make me love this DLC. The trials at Xedilian, choosing between the House of Dementia and the House of Mania, hunting down a traitor, making your own gatekeeper with Relmyna. I have so much fun everytime

The fact the Grey Fox bounty carries over to the Shivering Isles is hilarious.
Easily the best DLC in the Elder Scrolls series. The second best questline in the series, behind the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood. The Ritual of Accession is one of the best quests of all time too!

I remember first playing it, leaving after obtaining the Attenuator, and then it despawned when I left back to Cyrodiil.

I've been following the Elder Scrolls series as of lately, and I must admit. Both Oblivion and Skyrim have their own charms when it comes to "How does one interpret the Elder Scrolls?"
For Oblivion, I enjoy how the player technically isn't the protagonist. You don't know the state of the realm you're currently inhabiting until you are actually going for the missions. And as you learn more, you start to FEEL like you're making progress.
Skyrim, on the other hand, you already have some idea of what's going on in the realm right off the bat. You're a hero, you're a Dragonborn. The Empire has changed a lot, and the Daedra, although dangerous, aren't the main focus anymore. The dangers lie in a more solid ground, something tangible, something that can be more easily comprehended.
So while Oblivion nails in terms of storytelling and its RPG system, I still like Skyrim for its simple yet solid gameplay.
This was one of my favorite quests to play, besides the dark brotherhood.
