There was a girl I met up with in person. She did the whole friendzone thing & I went along with it. Shortly after, she was texting me & we flirted a lot over text. This was a daily thing. I always made sure to cover my tracks by saying "Hey I apologize if my flirting ever seems strong" & she would always act as if that apology was out of place and re-assure me "you're cute when you try to flirt." She picked the only 2 work days after using that line over text to try saying I was flirting sexually with her at work. I don't believe HR fully believed her spin of the story, but I got fired for retaliation in the end. I covered my tracks despite believing she was this amazing person. We didn't work out for other reasons, but she chose to tell our mutual female friends that I flirted strongly. I assume she was butthurt over how we fell off. So, even while covering my tracks, she still managed to stage this entire scenario.
