I am genuinely enjoying your reactions, even though I know every Alter Bridge/Slash & Co/Tremonti song note for note. Since you're diving into the rabbid hole, you must listen to Alter Bridge's song titled "Waters Rising." It's their first track where Mark actually properly sang lead vocals, unlike Words Darker Than Their Wings which he did some vocals on but Myles sang choruses and lead lines. Also, every track that either Mark or Myles do is fire, no exceptions. At this point, we can just get Myles to read the phonebook, and it will still be fire :)

Of cource, Myles is singing in his own league. For me, there is no (hard) rock singer reaching his range, brilliance and uniqueness. But there is no doubt that Mark created his own special uniqueness. In the end, both are best when they mix the musical talent.
Mark Tremonti is a good vocalist. But - he is not top tier like Myles Kennedy is. I really love Mark singing the occasional tune, but absolutely adore when Myles is lead and Mark sings his backing vocals in harmony with Myles! 💪
As crazy as it sounds, Alterbridge has soo many of the "best tracks" they all have become non-rankable for me. 90%of the songs on their catalog has its own tier as great for me. A slight few exceptions of good songs that aren't great. I do not think alterbridge has a "bad" song. My opinion though.

In truth, though Mark can sing, Myles Kennedy is in a class by himself. But the interplay between them with harmonies and all is amazing.

I believe Mark wrote this song about an old friend who passed away from addiction 🤔
