If you know about the boys comic, the character stan is supposed to be is basically a sociopath. He's actually the main villian even more so than homelander. Im sure the next season will show a light on that.
Yet such a conversation would do more than all the false accolades and participation trophies in the world. The truth, no matter how bitter to swallow, has more potential to heal than the sweetest lies ever told.
What makes this even funnier is that Edgar said "looking for my approval like I'm your daddy?" Then calls him a disappointment and then Homelander meets his dad who then calls him a fucking disappointment
Homelander can hear his heartbeat. He can sense when people are afraid of him and when they're lying. Stan did nothing but tell the truth, and that scared Homelander more than anything.
In both the comics &this show he scans his heartbeat &is shocked why his heart rate never clocks up even a little.. like he's asleep..even when he's threatening him &posturing.. it's actually nuts

I love how much Stan turns his back on Homelander here. It's not only symbolic for their relationship, but also shows how little he fears a man that could instantly kill him like it was nothing.
Stan doesn't fear him in the slightest, because he's a sociopath himself. Homelander can sense the slightest change in his bodily functions if he were putting up a front.

The scene would lose much of his power. Is the fact that even when the difference of superpowers would put Stan Edgar at his mercy, he was still in control of his emotions and of the dialogue itself.
Edgar’s superpower is that he doesn’t care, he doesn’t get invested in this little game of drama and pettiness that the Supers and Butcher plays. It’s all just business to him. The writers simply let Edgar live. So as to show what happens when people like Butcher and Homelander let their emotions rule them: Edgar trumps and destroys them both. Spoilers: That’s what happens in the comics anyway. Both parties are destroyed by third parties and happenstance, as well as a contingency plan by Vuaght to eliminate all “bad products” and sweep the board. The story in the comics ends with Edgar starting up a new company, and sweeping the corpses of Butcher, Homelander, and all other failed product/pawns involved, under the rug and starting over. The one who “wins” in the end of the comics’ story, is Stan. By the end, even the more innocent Supers are killed off when the board is cleared.
I think Stan probably thinks he's above such a drug like V. A dealer doesn't get high off his own supply after all. He knows the countless years of mental conditioning he drilled into Homelander as a kid would work since it has worked forever even now. He's human, he can't help it and Edgar knows that.
This hits Different after the scene where Homelander tells Deep to Blow A Train. And how mad he is that he’s surrounded by yes men and that nobody contests him
@@kermit4036 He liked having something to conquer. Men like Edgar stood like an obstacle. Something to get passed. But now that he’s gone, he is left with nothing.

To people who don’t know. In the comics stillwell is basically stan from this show and homelander would never kill him because he can tell when stillwell is scared by listening to his heart beat and stillwell was never afraid. Homelander always tried to make stillwell afraid but never succeeded. He kept him alive for the very reason to some day scare him to prove a point.
I feel like Stan can look at an iceberg and just say “You’re a bad block of ice” and it would just shrivel, melt and then evaporate out of embarrassment.
Homelander has super hearing. He can hear people’s heartbeat and knows when they’re scared of him. He knows damn well that Stan isnt just hiding fear, rather he is not afraid at all. Stan is not intimidated by homelander, and that terrifies him.
In this moment, Homelander could laser him in half and I promise you Stans last words would be something like “pathetic, you’re not man enough to do it with your own hands”
@@vidlantrofan3854 It is not, actually. Among the superpowered folks, we've seen Stormfront tank it (and yes, he was almost certainly holding back...but *Ryan* wasn't, and she still survived Ryan's blast, though she was utterly wrecked), V-boosted Billy Butcher, and I believe Soldier Boy himself. Among non-powered folks, we have the innocent bystander in that village he landed in (the poor guy who was behind HL's actual target), and IIRC people in the last episode of Diabolical who didn't die instantly. (That said, they DID die shortly thereafter).
Homelander refuses to see himself as human because he views us as lower than him, while Stan doesn't to see him as such because he's so fundamentally incomplete and fragile that he lacks the basic ingrained instincts that make up any normal human.

Homelander legitimately likes having people around who aren’t afraid of him. It makes his life interesting. That’s why he shows great respect to Butcher, and why he doesn’t kill Edgar despite Edgar losing all his power and status.
He hates Edgar because he's sick of scheming bureaucrats. Butcher's different, Homelander knows the only reason he schemes is because a crowbar won't cave in his skull.
I love how Homelander tries to roast Stan like he does with him and the best he can come up with is "you are pathetic lol" only for Stan to deep fry his soul moments after.
He only really plays one character but my god is it a good fucking character I don't care what TV show hes in i could watch him deliver cold verbal beat downs all day
Honestly I think a lot of the roles he's hired for are purely because of Gus, he's a great actor and I would love to see him with a few different roles other than stoic, evil, corporate, man.
@@stormz_cloud cuz in that episode, he was told that he could’ve broken out of the lab anytime, but he was psychologically engineered to constantly seek approval so that he wouldn’t be viewed as a disappointment
Giancarlo Esposito is honest to god an A list actor and there is no doubt about it, his line delivery, subtle facial expressions and gestures, they're all amazing and honestly somewhat chilling.
@@acediaz “A list” doesn’t refer to the actor’s talent. The “A list” refers to the highest possible tier of status for performers or entertainers: a position of absolute celebrity and immense social cachet. Giancarlo Esposito is very well known, but after all he has only one great role and is not very highly paid. His name is not enough to draw crowds or give credence to a project. Who really is in the A-list? Al Pacino, Leo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence. Names and faces almost everyone will recognize and look up to.
In less than a minute bro: -Son-ed him -called him trash in 3 different ways -prayed on his downfall All while knowing he could kill him right there That Sr.Esposito’s power.
It's even worse. Calling him a "product" shows that he doesnt even think of him as his own person or anything like that. Homelander is like a broken tool to Edgar. An object that is full of defects, and therefore useless to him.
Homelander never learned to handle anything but boundless praise. He's a child trapped in a grown man's body that has superpowers. When confronted with criticism he reverts to being an angry toddler that outright denies having eaten from the cookie jar despite being covered in crumbs and chocolate.
It’s worse than that. Homelander has so many mental issues it’s impossible to list them. Sociopathy, psychopathy, god complex, and inferiority complex, and narcissism. Those are just the ones off the top of my head, I bet a professional psychologist could diagnose Homelander with even more. This man is a ticking time bomb with godlike power. God help the Boys universe when he finally snaps.
@@duvaulhodges3389nope, he doesn't respect him at all. Homelander likes people to be afraid of him, to beg for their lifes and cry in front of him. But Edgar never did that. Homelander hates him because he was never afraid of him. In the whole scene, Homelander is trying to mock him but Edgar always bounces back with better replies
@@WaltDevil060Nah Homelander definitely respects him just as he does Butcher, you can both hate and respect an opponent, they’re not mutually exclusive.
Those are the villains that we love: dangerously charismatic. They can be THE most irredeemable bastards ever, if they charm you with their quirks, you'll still end up loving them.
@@MrDibara we love these villains because they actually seem dangerous. Their cold, calculating ruthlessness is backed up by the ability to persuade anyone to do anything for their cause. This makes them terrifying, a true threat and a foe to be feared - which is why their inevitable defeat is so delicous. Inept, easily fooled villains arent scary at all, and if they are written as an inept villain in charge of some massive organization, it becomes difficult for the audience to believe they could have actually achieved their position.
@@vornamenachname989 Not really. Dude was "charismatic" because he spoke out the anger and frustration that a desperate German people were feeling during the post-WW1 crisis. But other than that, he was pretty neurotic. Not really composed, cunning, charming or even funny like, say, Big Jack Horner.
Stan, isn't a Stan... He casually pokes at Homelander's true weakness and teaches him a valuable business and life lesson in the process. He looked Homelander dead in the eyes and spoke to him like father would to an arrogant child, without even flinching.
I love how Stan, with no powers, can talk as much shit as he wants and Homelander doesn't touch him, but A-Train said ONE thing, and Homelander basically threatens to kill him😂
He can't kill Edger or Edger wins. See Homelander needs Edger to bow to him first, he needs to break him, But Edger don't give a shit, and so the cycle continues.
Homelander shivers sarcastically, but deep down, he knows Edgar is right. Edgar is a fucking boss, one of very few regular humans that doesn’t fear Homelander in the slightest, and that pisses him off. 💀
Stan Edgar sucks though. He created homelander and helped mold him into the psycho that he is. Stan Edgar is the worst of them all. I actually felt bad for homelander here. Even the daddy line was cruel knowing he deprived him of any normalcy in his childhood. @dylanhitchcock6574
He's not new , he's been around for almost 40 years. Go check him out in the movie l School Daze when he was a fraternity dean of pledges. You'll see young Gus and Stan.
Such a brutal tear down, and he never has to cuss or raise his voice - just eloquent intellect and perfect diction. He could have ripped out Homelander’s heart, and it would have been less hurtful.
Stan is the only guy who can call Homelander a disappointment to his face and not have red eyes pointing at him ready to take his life. What a goat
Also Butcher
If you know about the boys comic, the character stan is supposed to be is basically a sociopath. He's actually the main villian even more so than homelander. Im sure the next season will show a light on that.

Ayo, I don’t mean to force anything on anyone, but we have various types of evidence for biblical events. *IF* anyone is interested, read on.
*NOTE:* I can’t prove God to you. It all comes down to your choice to put your trust in Jesus Christ. That’s all faith is-TRUST. Unfortunately in these recent years, science and “religion” (as we know them today) have bastardized each other and themselves.
Point is, faith is trusting in Jesus. It’s not a blind jump into what people deem “irrational.” Billy Graham said something reminiscent of that.
I have no power over you. I can only tell you, but I can’t force you. (I mean, we’re conversing online lol. I’m not at your location… yet)
james 4:8 “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Check out “HolyLandSite, Cold-Case Christianity, Delafé Testimonies.” There may be more, but those are the ones I know of.
religion (Christianity) is just a relationship with God along with loving others (see james 1:27)

We also found Noah’s Ark hanging out in turkey, along with anchor stones marked with crosses signifying that it’s a revered place, along with altars and many other related findings. Look it up, it’s good stuff (HolyLandSite on RUclips).
more evidence for the Bible concerning cosmology and divine revelation in job 26:7, proverbs 8:27, Isaiah 40:22 (read on)
The idea that the earth was round can be dated back to 600 BC in Greece. It was more widely accepted around the 3rd century (300 BC-201 BC) The idea that the Earth floated in space was concocted circa 500 BC. Note: time was “labeled” differently back then. for example, year 3000, year 420, year 69, year 0, year 1, year 2… and so on.
Job 26:7: “. . .He [God] hangs the earth on nothing” The book of Job was supposedly written at 2100 BC.
Proverbs 8:27: “. . .when He drew a circle on the face of the deep. . .” Proverbs was possibly written between 970 and 686 BC
Isaiah 40:22: “it is He who sits above the circles of the earth. . .” Isaiah was written between 739 and 680 BC.
This one doesn’t pertain to cosmology, but it refers to divine revelation nonetheless. So you know how the Euphrates River is drying up? Well, guess what? People in the Bible are saying: “Been there, done that.” Read on to learn more.
Isaiah 11:15 “The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.”
Revelation 16:12 “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.”
How did they know about this? You tell me, my fellow Zoomerz.
*NOW FOR EVIDENCE OUTSIDE OF THE BIBLE*
The Holy Spirit exists. I was suicidal for 9-ish months, but then I read John 3:16, and poof- the big sad went away in one night.
Also, look up John Gabbana's (boonk gang) testimony. Dude did a lot of wacky stuff. He's changed now.
Check out “Delafé Testimonies.” They got some good stuff as well
*YOU CANNOT DENY THE WORK GOD DOES IN PEOPLE’S LIVES*
also, the soul exists. someone i know (i won't say who-privacy reasons) saw their soul leaving their body. like pulling off a band-aid, except it doesn't hurt.
*There are also non-Christian sources who have confirmed the existence and divinity of Jesus, some of which were hostile towards Christianity, such as:*
Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;
Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ “Christians,” confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command;
Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers;
Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son);
Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified;
Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers;
(See cold-case Christianity for more details)
Here’s the physical evidence of Jesus and His Resurrection:
1) No persecution would have started if He hadn’t come back (even the disciples thought Jesus would never make the ultimate comeback)
2) The Roman soldiers would have paid with their lives if they failed at their jobs
3) there was a 2-4 ton rock that 11-12 guys would have to move (The disciples deserted Him, remember? They didn’t have any help. Everyone said, “Crucify Him!” major L to those opposed to Jesus)
4) there was a Roman seal which was a metal pin that sealed the tomb stone (they would have to break that off; there were well-trained Roman guards there as well).
5) Stealing the Jesus’s body isn’t something the disciples would do (besides Judas. Although he hung himself after feeling remorse for betraying Jesus).
6) the disciples wouldn’t die for what they knew would be a lie. (The lie being Jesus never made the ultimate comeback. They were called to not be liars. I mean, they hung out with the Son of God/God in the flesh. Come on, now).

He just verbally and attitudally destroyed the most feared character in that universe. Bad Product and that stare itself is enough
Most feared character is crazy more like a man child
@@DangerBaker-ji1duStan Edgar is the worst though
Fun fact: In the comics Homelander realised that his heart rate doesn’t go up one bit. It actually creeped him out even.
@@DangerBaker-ji1du Smart people fear an idiot because the idiot is unpredictable and can do things that are strictly just stupid.
@Obscurite1221 yeah but keep in mind that the average smart person .
the genius and real smart ones don't cause they got some madness in them too
I fucking love Stan Edgar. Not one ounce of fear for Honelander
I think Homelander respects him because he's not scared like everyone else.
@@duvaulhodges3389nope, he doesn't respect him at all. Homelander likes people to be afraid of him, to beg for their lifes and cry in front of him. But Edgar never did that. Homelander hates him because he was never afraid of him. In the whole scene, Homelander is trying to mock him but Edgar always bounces back with better replies
he is the lex luthor version of the boys.
Just like how lex is not afraid of superman
@@WaltDevil060Nah Homelander definitely respects him just as he does Butcher, you can both hate and respect an opponent, they’re not mutually exclusive.
Stan is the most evil character and yet it's still so satisfying to watch him dress homelander down, because evil as he is he's got so much charisma
Those are the villains that we love: dangerously charismatic.
They can be THE most irredeemable bastards ever, if they charm you with their quirks, you'll still end up loving them.
@@MrDibara it also makes their deranged, but inevitable third act breakdown that much more satisfying
@@MrDibara Basically Hitler lol. That was all he had, charisma, and nobody noticed how evil he really was
@@vornamenachname989 Not really. Dude was "charismatic" because he spoke out the anger and frustration that a desperate German people were feeling during the post-WW1 crisis.
But other than that, he was pretty neurotic. Not really composed, cunning, charming or even funny like, say, Big Jack Horner.
His super power is words and articulating them well enough that they cut right through the ego and hit the guy in the soul
Stan, isn't a Stan... He casually pokes at Homelander's true weakness and teaches him a valuable business and life lesson in the process. He looked Homelander dead in the eyes and spoke to him like father would to an arrogant child, without even flinching.
No matter how high we climb, we all used to be carried…
I love how Stan, with no powers, can talk as much shit as he wants and Homelander doesn't touch him, but A-Train said ONE thing, and Homelander basically threatens to kill him😂
A train was afraid of him, and Homelander wanted to make sure he stayed afraid.
Edgar had no fear to begging with.
A-train is afraid of Homelander, Stan isn't.
@herohunter5961 And you have to start wondering why that is.
He can't kill Edger or Edger wins.
See Homelander needs Edger to bow to him first, he needs to break him, But Edger don't give a shit, and so the cycle continues.
Edgar isn’t afraid of Homelander like at all
At this moment Stan Edgar pulled out his Darksaber and burned Homelander. Deep into his soul.
"A bottomless pit of insecurity you call a soul" 🥶
"bottomless gaping pit of insecurity that you call a soul" 🤺
Homelander shivers sarcastically, but deep down, he knows Edgar is right. Edgar is a fucking boss, one of very few regular humans that doesn’t fear Homelander in the slightest, and that pisses him off. 💀
Stan Edgar sucks though. He created homelander and helped mold him into the psycho that he is. Stan Edgar is the worst of them all. I actually felt bad for homelander here. Even the daddy line was cruel knowing he deprived him of any normalcy in his childhood. @dylanhitchcock6574
Giancarlo Esposito is the new classy version version of Samuel L Jackson. He doesn't have to to say mthrf#@$% but his burns are classic.
He's not new , he's been around for almost 40 years. Go check him out in the movie l School Daze when he was a fraternity dean of pledges. You'll see young Gus and Stan.
“Looking for my approval like im your daddy”🤣DAMNNN
Such a brutal tear down, and he never has to cuss or raise his voice - just eloquent intellect and perfect diction. He could have ripped out Homelander’s heart, and it would have been less hurtful.
Stan Edgar casually drops the hardest lines and dips 💀
Calling him bad product was probably the hardest homelander has ever been hit
