I've been a Katy Perry fan since I was 5 (so 8 years) and although I'm no longer obsessed with her, I have so much respect for her. I did 2 school and 1 girl scout project on her. It took her so much to get to where she is, so all the haters can go stick it where the sun dont shine. I love her. I've seen the movies for Part of Me tour (I lived on that for about 3 years) and the Prismatic tour. I would watch Witness but I think it's only on RUclips Red. I have 2 of her albums on CD and I used to have her on iTunes before my ipod crashed. She has this amazing personality, and shes such a nice person. Everyone has an attitude or a bad day occasionally, just because shes in the public eye does not mean our expectations of her should be higher than our expectations of any other person. Shes entitled to a bad day here and there, shes aloud to have imperfections. And I will fight anyone on that. And to those who say she cant sing, just because she doesnt sing like everybody else, doesnt mean she doesnt have a voice. And singing live isnt always perfect. Sometimes your voice cracks, sometimes your sick, sometimes you get emotional, sometimes the audio craps out (I heard they use an earpiece to hear the background audio while performing), you cant judge someone based on that if you dont know the circumstances. #KatyCat #ILoveKatyPerry

While I'll agree with those who are critical that she isn't a powerhouse singer, there are other kinds of talent that don't HAVE to be powerhouses. For instance, JLO isn't a "powerhouse" vocalist, but she's the best at what she does and I freaking LOVE it. Same with Katy, she's not a powerhouse or even a strong singer [not to say she isn't good, that just means she doesn't have the power or dynamic that some artists have behind their voice, for instance, like Adele, P!nk, or Ariana Grande have powerful voices] but she's got her own unique sound, presentation, personality, and all of that works to make an excellent entertainer. If people are entertained, she's done her job, frankly. I love her sound because she's not a stereotypical powerhouse. Just because she doesn't have THAT natural ability, doesn't mean she's not a fantastic singer in her OWN way. She's different, and I like that. I love that she's got a unique sound quality to her voice, that she possesses her own strengths, unconventionally. It's admirable and beautiful.
