- Angela Rayner is reportedly furious after she and the Transport Secretary were blamed for risking a £1 billion investment in the UK economy just ahead of Keir Starmer’s investment summit.
On Friday, DP World, the owner of P&O Ferries, withdrew plans to invest in its London Gateway container port. This came after Rayner and Louise Haigh criticised the company, calling it "unscrupulous" and "exploitative."
This comes as Sir Keir Starmer marks 100 days in office amidst a turbulent start. His government has faced scandals, including the "freebies" controversy, a No. 10 power struggle, and plummeting approval ratings.
Despite challenges, such as economic concerns and rising immigration, Starmer aims to refocus on the economy and major policy reforms, like renationalising rail and expanding workers' rights.
Dr David Bull hosts a head-to-head debate between Deputy Policy Director for The Centre For Social Justice, Sophia Worringer and Barrister Sam Fowles.

Rayner is a classic example of a lack of schooling.
Rayner has no idea how difficult it is to run a small retail business
P&O isn't a small retail business. It's part of a multinational conglomerate. Try and stay on point.
ANY business!

Part of the Slave trade Empire who Liebour are doing deals with....

Money Only Spends Once.
That applies to all businesses.
Its thanks to brexit that small businesses are struggling
The young man is over excited and emotional, which is hard to watch. I can’t do it.
He is a barrister who knows nothing about working in a small business.
@@susanmills4843 if he is the standard of newly qualified barristers god forbid you get arrested & this muppet is your defence lawyer
Having a lawyer who charges more for 2 hours than a pensioner gets paid in a week commenting on how well pensioners are paid is the height of hypocrisy.
He is an example of naive Labour stupidity with no grasp on the less privileged.
2 hours more like half an hour
I feel sorry for anyone born now
If this guy is a barrister, Im staying away from him ...
This young lad believes that money grows on trees.
Sam Fowles should stick to being a barrister
Hard to believe he's any good at that either.
Like Steer Karmer....
@@robinburn4974 oh no, we wouldn’t have a chance.
See's Raynor as the cash cow given the freebies .
Rayner is a JOKE...
Louise Haigh says she is boycotting P&O Ferries. Out of curiosity, how many shipping containers does she bring into the country? 😂
Rayner's expertise doesn't lie in the running of international conglomerates. She might be good at lifting pints to her chops though, we are in safe hands.
Rayner has to go to many mistakes.& isn't intelligent enough to do her job.
Rayner is a genius compared to Lammy, and that's saying something.
The Labour shill barrister trying to do mental gymnastics and been called out for lies is priceless. Using Starmer's moral framework obviously.
Labour keeps saying "Britain open for business" then do everything they can to discourage business investment. Our economy will not grow without private sector investment, is Starmer and his cabal completely clueless ( that's a rhetorical question, we all recognise their stupidity )
Tory Lie...Labour Lie....Tory 14 years to leave the ECHR, Stop Boats Useless........Reform🇬🇧 100%

This barrister is a complete tool probably produced by the same toolmaker as starmer
Well they have the same university in common...
That Sam chap....
...what a bell end.
Spouting with total confidence, but in total ignorance of actual law. Embarrassing considering his profession.
Another Barrister listen to him talk about our old folks, so he runs a business i would like to see his yearly salary.
It doesn't matter too much about rules who is paying for the missing 1 billion?.
Have you forgotten how P&O fire their workers for cheaper ones?
Labour are only in power because of the badly, and sadly, flawed electoral system. Labour are a minority government, not a majority, they only have support of 20% of the electorate, 33.7% support from those that voted, yet they have 64% of the seats. As a result, it took only 23,500 votes to elect one Labour MP but over 800,000 votes to elect one Reform MP.
The faceless electoral system voted Labour in, the voters certainly didn't. Begs the question why anyone voted. The urgent issue needing attention is to fix the system, and for voters to be certain that they're not wasting their time voting.
No-one appears to be tackling this exceptionally important miscarriage of democracy and no-one appears to be mentioning it in the media. Aren't we supposed to live in a democracy?
If the government wants us to get rid of zero hours contracts then when the government hand out tenders for contracts they are going to have to ensure us payment for the length of the contract. Currently we contract to the local authotity and they can get rid of us on a weeks notice and then we would have no work for staff.
A barrister claiming that he represents small businesses, what???
Well done Labour apologist who can not think beyond university activists. They are complete clowns.
You don't sell your soul and principles for a mere 1 billion pounds either!
The lawyer sums up why people don’t like kier Starmer. The general public hate the technicality arguments. They may play well with judges however, they don’t play well with jury’s
The economy has slowed down precisely for what Sam is arguing for - regulation! It’s over regulation that has stifled innovation and entrepreneurship in the UK. It’s even worse in Europe where of course there is even more bureaucracy. You could never start a company like Facebook here aside from anything there is no capital here. And we don’t have first amendment protections. It would have been killed by government intervention if it started getting somewhere here. And also if you wanna start a tech company you couldn’t get funding here like you could in USA for example. It’s just a moronic argument. That’s why our economy is fucked. Ultimately. We produced a lot of the underlying tech that these companies use. Similar in many other industries.
Sam Fowles is wrong. P&O did not break any laws. He should be disbarred as a barrister.
What a shirt ?
Zero style sense. Was it from Lord Ali? Lol. A shirt for Radio!
But at least you have a brain to investigate the Liebour shits?
What monies will they raise to spend ?
Maybe on more clothes!
Not by this milkmaid. Rayner more than Tom,and Harry
Barrister????? I hope i never need one and he's the next in line.
Sam Fowles needs to lay off the sugared drinks.
People who want to do zero hour contracts are just plain lazy! Get out there and get a full, time job and get off your lazy backsides!
Not exactly an intelligent statement. Obviously little experience of real life.
@roblloyd1879 Believe me, I've had a lot of experience in life and seen first, hand how these bone idle young ones nowadays want to stand around and do nothing!
If benefits were scrapped 9.4 millions would be forced to get off their lazy backsides and get a full-time job. There is no room for freeloaders or work shirkers. In the long run it would benefit them.
@@sharonseed Yes there are many bone idle people and as an ex employer I met many of them. However part-time and zero hours workers tend to be older but their circumstances as parents or carers or the fact that they lead a simpler life paying their own way without the need for a full time job doesn't make them spongers. Perhaps you should be looking at the 'work from home' snivel serpents, and yes, many years ago I was a civil servant but realised I much preferred a real job.
That bloke reminds me of starmer, a bit dense and cant see or understand the point. Hes also reading a script......badly
Why is this Barrister Sam Fowles on this podcast, Chambers, surgeries, and dentist are not the same as most micro businesses.
Sam vokes is a bad actor
That's what barristers are.
We are being run by university students....
Sam Fowles. Aptly named.
nice blouse mr bull
Yes Angela Rayner straight in your pocket and the rest of the Cronies
They are completely deluded
