Perfection is the enemy of progress. That’s what I try to keep telling myself as I get bogged down on tiny things that don’t actually matter. So I hear ya. But you guys are the bomb. I really admire your willingness to tackle anything. Thanks for taking us on your journey. Also…. love the relationship between you guys. Great to see.
Thanks Tony, you're too kind! And yes, you just have to get it done or we'd never leave the dock. We see people get 'stuck' working on their boats forever making them perfect, there will always be a todo list. Wait long enough and you'll miss the opportunity due to other commitments or illness, or both! Our moto is 'If it's safe, we go'
@@sailingpopao whatever mottos you are using they are working well ! 😁👍🏼 It was a real thrill to meet you recently and I’m happy to bother you with occasional comments since I think it helps a tiny bit. Damn shame that you guys aren’t as big as you deserve on this platform. People are missing out. Thanks again for taking us with you.
Well done guys! High and Dry on the hardstand definitely isn't paradise but you guys have have such great spirits 💕 Tea tree oil is great for midges and takes away the itch and helps repell them ❤
Thanks guys, it’s all worth it at the end. Right? 😂 hope you haven’t been carried away by the midgies in cairns boatyard yet! Will try to tea tree next time.
If I built a catamaran I would install diesel-powered long tails like I saw on a Wharam. If the propellers were near the sugar scoops you could remove debris from the propellers from the sugar scoops. I would install the engines on the bridge deck. No growth, no leaky boot, and easy access. This would give you easy engine access.
😂😂😂😂 now that I would love to see!! I like to idea of carrying diesel on board 👌 we love how easy it is to clear our propellers, especially in croc country
The joys of owning an epoxy/plywood cat. Serviced our engines as well. Wait till the middle bush comes out and you need to get the Circlip out 300 mm up the shaft😳. We are on a parallel journey. Signed Bean Bags. See you in Gladstone 👍
😂😂😂 for sure, without a shadow of a doubt we were high as kites that night 🤣 I feel sorry for any other boats trying to sleep because we were giggling like school girls 😝 and that’s WITH respirators on 🤨
Tak, run the engines first bro, and always make sure gear is in reverse to tap out. You won’t have the selector problems then. And always be grease the powerhead end of shaft 😊
Cheers Beau, good to know about the reserve trick. We will keep this in mind for next time. We always do grease it but had this issue last time on the same engine. Bit strange, won’t leave it as long between services next time.
This might sound bad but channels like this make me realise that owning a big boat is more hassle than it's worth. I'll keep my 17 foot boat thank you very much
I'm guessing Yamaha motors had the same problem getting the leg off a 15hp Long leg other than. That it was a great motor the repair looks fine cheers n beers Marty Qld
😳😭😭😭 that is the absolute worse!!! I got that from shucking pearl shells on the boats in Broome but luckily it went away, the carpal tunnel stayed with me for life though.
These ones are made by turtle pac, the only down side from my understanding is you cant use camlock fittings, only flush to sea. They’re made by turtlepac and haven’t had any issues with them so far.
Hi Robert, we mentioned in one of our earlier videos but basically it means ‘Outrigger’ in Tongan 🇹🇴 which is where we lived and fell in love with sailing. It was also one of our Tongan dogs names who we named after the local beer. So ‘Boat, beer & bitches’ 😝
@@sailingpopao I somewhat remember watching that video but I guess I forgot. That's a great name. What do you think another good name would be for when I get my Cyber 48?
Yes I think you’re right!! I said the same thing to Michael when editing this and he dismissed me 😂 glad you’ve pointed this out. She still works but might not be getting what she needs. Will have another look, I think the top of the water pipe tube thingo was a bit corroded and not fully connecting to the top of the engine.

Hectic legends, crushed it as usual, and with great humour, love it, thanks for sharing.

hahaha thank you!
Michael in the water in the duck pond had us worried. Last time we anchored in there they had a croc trap set up about 50 metres from our boat.
Haha yep you're not the only one but there was no talking him out of it.

That’s it 💪 nothing worth doing, comes easy 👌

Deja vu for me, sanded my hull 3 years ago and still have teno in my elbow as a result
😳😭😭😭 that is the absolute worse!!! I got that from shucking pearl shells on the boats in Broome but luckily it went away, the carpal tunnel stayed with me for life though.
Is your holding tank a bag?
Sure is 😊 exactly what it’s designed for 👌
@@sailingpopao I didn't know that was a thing. Definitely gonna look into replacing my hard tank. Thanks!

What does Popao mean and how did you come up with it?

Water is no meant to come out of the leg like that, it’s not fitting properly
