Great guys!
Thanks guys, looking forward to the next one.
Cheers Ron, it’s the best part of the reef 😍
Hi guys, we were hung up on that same bit of junk as well but after having Bill the diver get us off we wrapped around a pile of anchors and chain. after 3 dives and $$$ we moved back up where we stayed for the cyclone next to the old navy tug. We'll be popping down to breakwater Marina later this year for a clean and tough up. Cheers from Tiki
Oh wow!! Yeah is say that bit of boat keeps Bill busy 🤣 apparently it’s even worse since the cyclone. We only anchor on a couple of marks we have 🤓
Bill is a legend isn't he!
Very well edited video
Thanks
Cheers Camp David 😊
Good job diving the crash site mate.
Grim task in murky waters.
- on a brighter note, 14 knots is super fast 😂 the best i got on my 15ton mono was 13knots surfing down a wave in bass straight. 😖😳
Thanks Cal, his first job like that and he said it was very rewarding for lack of a better word to be able to work on something like that.
Haha wow!! 13knots on a 15 ton mono is incredible, bet that was thrilling and frightening all at the same time 🤪 our top SOG is actually 16 😳 never, EVER want to do that again 🤣
Great to see your beautiful faces.
Thanks cuz 😘
😀😀👍👍❤❤ Fun video with good info!
Cheers Thomas 😊😊 good feedback
Welcome back to the Tube kids.
Cheers Cameron 😊
It looks like an AirPod case floating down the river (the apple bost).
😂😂😂😂
Helicopter recover in 40 meters is a serious business.... Did Michele get his hat back...
It sure is mate, I was worried about him every day 😳 one of the deepest jobs he’s worked on but done very safely. It was super rewarding for him too, to be able to bring some closure to the families of those lost in the crash.
Ps - yes his hat was recovered 🤣
Came up clean! Weve just had friends have to get Bill the diver in to get them u stuck. Their anchor was stuck on an old mooring block there
He’s definitely in the right river as a diver 😂 you couldn’t pay me enough 🤪
@sailingpopao me either! he's got some amazing stories about his encounters with crocs while diving 😃🫣
Oh get out!?!? That’s wild. No thanks. Michael actually got a crab pot line or some line wrapped around our rudder up near the boatyard and he jumped in to un hook it. I’ve never seen him move so fast, I don’t even think his hair got wet even though he went right under 🤣😂 definitely pays to have a commercial diver onboard 😳
@@sailingpopao nope nope nope! Glad Michael was in and out fast he is a braver person than I! Yea Bill has a story of a croc following his bubbles down and the second person was banging on the hull of the tinny to tell him to come up and he followed the anchor chain up because apparently then the croc can distinct between anchor chain and something else on it? My heart was pounding when he was telling the story and since he was alive and telling the story I sorta knew how it ended but none the less my heart was racing for him!
😂😂😂😂
You had said that cats are not known for their up wind performance. I disagree. It's hard to explain it without writing a novel but it has to do with a catamaran going faster than a mono, apparent wind and either using one or both dagger boards. As a result, your able to shift your way up wind and end up being on the same tack line as a mono but that's all done by hand steering. You can't do that with an auto helm. It's a combination of short episodes of pinching and heading down which makes you point higher and that takes you to the same point as a mono. Yes, the main points you into the wind and the head jib points you down. You need a balance between the two.
With a well designed cat, good dagger boards, low windage, it should point as well as most monohulls, and go faster
@@markthomasson5077 I used to race Tornado catamarans and qualified for the Olympics and also raced Nacra 6.0 and 5.8 catamarans so I've got a lot of experience on catamarans and even more experience on Naple Sabots and Lasers through about ten years of going to a junior sailing program.
