    Thank you for sharing this with us! One question: If, for example, I meet all the entry requirement for a specific program, will that guarantee me a place at the university? Or there’s a limited number of seats for internationals?

    • @Uni.Passau
      @Uni.Passau  Год назад

      Hello and thank you for your interest in studying here! For undergraduate programmes, there are two types: unrestricted programmes, where a place of study is offered to any applicant who meets the criteria, and access-restricted programmes, where there is a limit on the total number of offers that will be made. However, for access-restricted programmes, it is an advantage to be an international applicant, as there is a generous designated quota for international applicants. See this page and the pages it links to for more information: www.uni-passau.de/en/apply/undergraduate-programme-applications
      For Master's programmes, the University (and/or uni-assist, depending on certain factors) assesses all applications. The exact process for making offers can vary - some faculties may issue offers on a first-come, first-served basis, others may choose to look at all applications together and make offers on a meritocratic basis.
      Generally speaking, applicants who meet all entry requirements are highly likely to receive an offer. I am not aware of there being any limitation on the number of international students - the University is working to increase its international profile and we celebrate the growing numbers of international students as a real success. For more information, you could ask the Academic Advice Service (www.uni-passau.de/en/academic-advice) or the person responsible for international students in the faculty that runs the degree programme you are interested in.
      Hope this helps and good luck if you decide to apply! We hope to be able to welcome you in Passau soon!

      Dear Sandra! That depends on what you are searching :) You can work for example at the university (www.uni-passau.de/universitaet/stellenangebote/), in local companies as a working student, in restaurants or bars or as a tour guide and so on. There are many different options and I would encourage you to just search what fits best to you.

    I really want to study CS master in Passau. I’ve graduated from IT (bachelor) last year and my gpa is 2.6. Should I be worried for not being accepted in Passau? What are my chances?

      Hello!
      I recommend you email advice@uni-passau.de - our Academic Advice Service. They answer questions about applying to study here and they are best place to guide you through the process. You may also find the following information helpful:
      The Academic Entry Requirements for the MSc Computer Science:
      "The final grade for your first degree must be 2.7 or better under the German marking system, or the relevant equivalent final grade in a foreign marking system.
      If your final grade is not 2.7 (or the equivalent foreign grade) or better, you may still apply if you can prove that you ranked among the best 70% of graduates within your particular degree programme in the academic year in which your final certificate was issued (i.e. your cohort).
      In that case you should provide an official certificate from your university registrar specifying the total number of graduates of your cohort as well as, importantly, the rank number/percentile you attained on the basis of your final grade.
      "
      (Source: www.uni-passau.de/en/msc-computer-science/ )
      You can use this grade converter to translate GPA into German grades: www.uni-passau.de/en/apply/apply-with-intl-qualifications/international-grade-converter/
      In German grades, 1 is best, so you want to get a number below 2.7 in the conversion. If your grade converts to a number higher than 2.7, you will have to use the 70% rule.
      Hope this helps. Good luck with your application - I hope we will be able to welcome you in Passau soon!
      - Robert

    Can you please guide me regarding white collar part time jobs for English speaking students in Passau ?

    • @Uni.Passau
      @Uni.Passau  2 года назад

      Hello!
      Most part-time jobs in Passau require German language skills. English-speaking students find it easier to find part-time jobs in Munich. Quite a few arrange their timetables so they can commute to Munich one or two days a week.
      For advice about work opportunities for students, you can contact the iStudi coach (www.uni-passau.de/en/istudi-coach/)
      Hope this helps & that we will be able to welcome you on campus soon!
