The Technodrome vehicle/playset was the mecca of Turtles Toys and sits proudly alongside the Sewer Playset and the Pizza Thrower as one of the most beloved toys in the original release. Originally priced at $50, the outside of the toy is very accurate to its show appearance, complete with four rolling tank tread like wheels a giant eye that can detach from the top and bowl over its enemies and rock blasters. Much like other toys in the line, some playset details were misleading when comparing the box art to the final product.

The eyeball ramp is awesome!
wow super jelly you got one! I remember as a kid wanting one but parents never found one or could probably not afford it. enjoy!
thank you!
Awesome! I still have my original Technodrome playset along with the Sewers playset. Super Nostalgic. Got to love those turtles.
That’s amazing, so cool that you still have the ones from your childhood still in your possession!
I remember seeing the commercial for this as a kid. And my mind was blown. What a awesome find.
Advertisers really knew how to hook us as kids. Hardly a Saturday morning went by where I didn’t see a toy commercial and start begging my parents to buy me what I just saw 😆
I added a 90% complete one to my collection and introduced it to my 1st grader a few moments ago. It's been so long that I forgot how some of it worked especially the eyeball ramp and we learned more watching your video. It goes great with the Playmates party van and so he and I are having fun playing with both right now. Thanks for the nostalgia, and I gotta say I love your taste in toys.
I just found the pieces of my old technodrome in my parents attic. I know I have the middle, sides, and eyeball. The rest I had to box up quickly to bring home because they were gonna toss everything left behind, so I gotta dig through my boxes and see how much of the insides I have.
So happy to have found it!! Found my turtle van and sewer set as well!!
I can feel the love in this video. The part where you say you used the eye for a wiffle ball, that pulls at my heart strings remembering what I did with my He-Man toys. I have been picking up masters of the universe origins figures. Keep up the great work.
If we only knew then, what we know now 🤦🏻♂️ I’m anxiously awaiting my preordered castle grayskull from the new origins line up. Got every new figure released thus far in the line
@@cooltoy that's awesome. I'm going to be getting castle gray skull too. I love the build to this line of figures.
Transformers Beast Wars for me. I love that hasbro is re-releasing the originial as well as updated 25th anniversary toys.
I support this. I put one together a few years ago. I had to get all the missing pieces on Ebay. My favorite TMNT toy. Enjoy yours.
eBay is pretty much the only option for a lot of the little pieces within this play set these days. Hoping I can get lucky and find the one missing piece I need eventually
Love the video, the baseball story was funny, oh the things we do as kids.
I grew up much like you. I had siblings so the budget was tight. Although my parents were unable to afford the large technodrone my parents did get me the the Technodrone scout. It was a large part of childhood and I’m great full for the memories. Love the video!
I love it when you do our child hood toy reviews... always brings us back to that happy place being a young kid just enjoying games and toys. Yes by far this series of Ninja turtle action figures and vehicles were my favorite by far! Thanks for always showing awesome videos of our childhood toys!! @COOLTOY!
Glad you enjoyed it, love me some TMNT!
My wife told me that when she was a kid her parents tried forever to get this and never could. Glad I was able to get one for her. Those instructions are important lol.
I imagine it was the toy of the year for that particular Christmas.
I had the turtle Blimp as a kid, that thing was huge!!. Could never get the glider to re-attach to the blimp once removed though
Thanks for the video! We have the technodrome, sewer, pizza shooter heliopter, van and a purple car along with random pieces. You found a great box!
thanks, sounds like you have quite the TMNT collection!
Great video! Took me back to when i was a kid and collected all the turtles. I had them all and all the vehicles and sewer, plus kept all the boxes. Then went threw my destructive phase.... man.. do i wish i still had everything and all the boxes. Currently looking to rebuild my collection. My whole entire old collection is my Grail.
I think the majority of us can relate to that. I definitely played way too hard with toys back then that I’d kill to own again today
I always wanted a Technodrome. I managed to get the sewer lair play set along with the Flushomatic where you put ooze in the toilet and watch it seep onto the turtle strapped into the torture device. I'm definitely going to get the turtle van next. I'm hoping this gets a reissue soon. Since the turtle van came out.
The Technodrome is one of the greatest toys ever invented. It's my absolute favorite! Been collecting for 17 years and it's still my favorite. I have a complete one but I'd love to get a box too!
Still have mine from my childhood. The Technodrome and the Sewer Lair got a ton of play time from me back in the day.
you were the coolest kid on the block if you had both playsets for sure!
@CoolToy glad to see you found your childhood dream toy, nice to see someone genuinely excited to get a toy.
For me the "toy" I'd really like to see again is an ELF II single board computer I built as a teenager. Not really a toy but something I did spend a lot of time with.
Awsome find. Glad you were able to get a piece of your childhood back.
Me too!
Gi Joe USS Flagg is my holy grail .. Technodrome a close second though.. nice pick up man!
I’ve only had the pleasure to see the Flag in person once, but my god is that thing amazing. The single greatest/most absurd toy to ever be released from Hasbro in my opinion. I’m still blown away that ever made it to the market, especially back then. It’s so impressive
@@cooltoy It has the opposite effect going on with the Technodrome... that seemed huge but as an adult was not that big..the Flagg on the other hand felt like you could live in it as a kid and i see it as an adult and it's almost more ridiculous in size than I remember. You'd need a bedroom for it basically... My wife is cool.. Im not sure she's THaaaaat cool though.
@@spacecowboyfpv5511 excellent point on the size and scale
I had this as a kid. Boy do I miss it
That's awesome and happy for ya man. My lost prize was I kept all n64 game boxes I had. They were all in great shape, then I cleaned things out about 15 years ago and tossed em all. Still have instructions, but wish I kept holding onto the game boxes
Ouch that one stings. OG boxes for a lot of the better games really fetch a price these days on eBay
@@cooltoy yeah, I had goldeneye banjo, conquers, Mario's, basically the big ones. I was moving out and my folks wanted my stuff out lol. At least I give em a hard time about it 😆
Sandlot style with the eyeball! 😂😂😂
I totally remember that commercial dude! Seriously this is awesome 🐢👍
Old told commercials are the best!
My personal grail is the Thundercats Cats Lair - both the small and big one.
I had the big one new for Christmas in the 80s but remember really wanting the small one.
Now 35 years later I have the small one with box and really want the big one again!
This and the sewer...my favorite playsets as a kid and most wanted
Sewer playset is awesome as well, always thought it was smart that that made it and the Technodrome interconnecting. Now we just need NECA or Super 7 to give us some outlandish massive versions of them soon
@@cooltoy I really hope one of them does it. I would have to buy them
I had Castle Grayskull, the first variant. Now as an adult I’m happy just with He-Man and Battlecat in the living room.
great pairing!
Glad I got most of the tmnt collection I wanted. I saw a few of these complete a few years ago for $500.
I'm really glad you enjoy this. Great seeing it is getting the love it needs.
Great video ! I am actually bidding on eBay auction fot this and really want it . As you said in your video it's all about the nostalgic feeling you get having these back in the collection . I was lucky to get the 1990 Sewer Lair for $100 in an auction so i know the feeling of having these memorable toys back in hand .
Best of luck in your auction!
Thank you!!
Back when toys required imagination thanks for the vdo and wonderful memories. )
The Dino Riders T-rex was my "holy grail" toy which I never got as a kid. I had the smaller dinosaur toys though. Now I have two of them (T-rexes) 100% complete.
I currently also own the Tmnt Technodrome only missing the one black handcuff from the jail inside. So annoying when it's only 99% complete lol. 😄
Loved Dino Riders toys!
My holy grail growing up was either Fortress Maximus or the Gi Joe General. Never got either one.
My Holy Grail is the Turtle Van/Party Van that shoots pizza discs! Big collector of tmnt figures but only 80s early 90s, especially the variants.
Are you talking about there Channel 6 news van? Or the party wagon the turtles drove around in?
@@cooltoy Yeah the Turtle’s van, I haven’t tried looking solely out of fear of disappointment lol
Missing the krang escape hatch makes it 80 percent complete LOL ! one of the more expensive parts today
Congratulations....🎉🎈🍾
My Holy grail is a Marx Toy called Ham Bones.... Need this one to complete the Bones Family collection.
I always wanted that as a kid! Nice bro.
Thanks, I’m super excited to own it again
Never got to see this in real life growing up on the Isle of Man but a kid down the road used to lie about having it but it was in his attic haha
Dude! That's amazing! Let's go!
Thanks man!
@@cooltoy Always happy to support!
This is a great video. I loved mine but over the years it disappeared. But weirdly the box for it was kept but not as collectible. The box was a pretty decent size. At the time we needed a box for Christmas decorations so we kept our lights/ ornaments in.😬
Ha Ha, at least it got put to good use.
I just casted a Mold for the Eye part. Was very easy to do. Hmm I should Make the Krang eascape hatch too. Those 2 are the money makers right there. I can cast them in a red color too & purple color.. Then paint the rest.
I bought one for my son today. Complete with box for 400$ Canadian. Will be given for his 19th birthday in January!
That is awesome!
Just got my technodrome. Currently trying to complete mine lol. Love the hacksaw shirt tough guy Hooooo!!!
I never saw the commercial and I was a huge tmnt fan.
Wow this is so awesome!!!
I’d love to see this connected to the sewer lair play-set. I’ve never seen it done.
Wow thats beyond anything i ever had as a kid.
My grail is a Tales of the Arabian Nights pinball machine.. loved that machine when it came out and have fallen in love with it more and more as I have gotten older... too bad they are untouchable unless you have an excess amount of expendable income!
great table for sure, pinball machines, especially the fan favorites have certainly increased in value over the years. I see tables like Williams Indy or Attack From Mars originals fetching $12k!!!
Awesome video sir I have one missing the same part and the purple landing that it shows bebop sitting on and mine has no box
All the feels on this one
It really means a lot to me to have this in my possession again.
so sick! I want one too lol
haha I always wondered how a figure was supposed to use that front gun!
Party wagon.. always wanted it.. never got it.. currently looking for the HotWheels Party wagon
Such an awesome vehicle. I’m expecting NECA toys to release a crazy one soon enough
This thing is going up in price like crazy! 😮 awesome pick up, hopefully it’s complete by now 😬👍🏽 hoping to get one soon!
Doug I love your T-shirt! Hope your having a good day!
Hoooooooooo!
lol sandlot style with the eye Ball , was curious does the blue prints say where to put the stickers? if so could you tell me where the little sticker that says door goes? i just got a technodrome and on the eyeball theres a sticker that says door and very unsure where i should move it too ? any help?!
bring out one for the new retro release turtles, ive got the van waiting on blimp and hopefully others coming out 🙌
My equivalent would be the millennium falcon playset, now I'm going to have to hunt one down
That's another amazing grail piece for sure!
The only gripe, the firing platform for the side blasters are completely useless. The figures are too bulky to sit on the platform and hold the gun as seen on the box. you have to detach the weapon or the platform, which defeats the purpose of having either..
Since they started re-releasing the classic turtles it seems like the market for stuff like this is really picking up
If you have access to a 3d printer, you could probably design and have printed the escape hatch.
Yea I’ve got a 3D printer, but ultimately I want to find the real piece in the end. Meantime I will likely print a temporary replacement
Did you ever play with Air Raiders?
nope, never had any of those growing up
Mine was the Magic Barbie Mansion
I loved the tmnt toys but they were poorly made. I remember 2 more vehicle's, the motor bike thrash can and the Knuckle Spider Foot Soilder vehicle, you couldnt fit a figure on either yet the box art displayed them with figures.
gi joe aircraft carrier i had the head quarters but the aircraft carrier was so hard to find
USS Flag was an absolutely incredible toy. Craziest playset release ever, hands down.
@@cooltoy my friend had it but his parents were rich so he had everything. great show love it, makes me feel old lol
Do you still need Krang’s trapdoor?!
Sounds like false advertising. When toys-r-us went down I was thinking of getting the Lego version of this. The Legos never went down enough in price for me.
I have one but incomplete though lol.
Damn he's beautiful..
I mean submarines have bunks in them so why not have a little bed in the technodrome?
Real tmnt talk
turtle power talk!
Hope NECA is watching. I love Hacksaw Jim Duggan! Ho!
Something tells me NECA has plans for a big TMNT vehicle release this year. I expect they'll announce such a thing at SDCC this fall.
G1 Optimus Prime trailer and all.
One of the best toys ever made, hands down
👍👍👍
