- I should have done these shackles a LONG time ago, what a perfect look Earl has now. Such a simple job as well.

Such a good looking rig! It’s crazy how much of a difference one or two inches can make to completely change the look and feel of a truck. Glad those original shackle bolts weren’t friction welded in there (bold move going in dry 😂)!

Now get some CJ or D0VE heads, some long tubes and 3.55 gears for the highway and Earl will be a ripper!

@@VeteranRevivals I'm not an expert by any means, just been planning my own 460 build.
D0VE heads are widely thought to be the best of the iron carb heads. I wanna say they have the smallest chamber of the iron heads, so that alone will up compression.
Cobra Jet heads are aluminum and came on 428 and 429 mustangs in the 60s. There is also the Super Cobra Jet that is even better and was run on the Lemans car.
You could also go wild and get a set of Kaase P-51 heads, which are basically Super Cobra Jet heads that are already ported.
I'd be willing to bet that long tubes and then port matching your current heads to the intake and headers would give you a noticeable gain.
Interesting, I have definitely heard of the cobra jet heads.
I bought some 3 point belts from summit retrofit good quality and not breaking the bank I think I paid 160 for the set
