    Today in committee I called for the following motion with unanimous consent.
    That, given that:
    (a) Twenty-two per cent of Canadians live with a disability but make up 41 percent of those who live in
    poverty;
    (b) The rising cost of housing, food, and medication is causing a cycle of poverty for persons living with a
    disability;
    (c) The Canada Disability Benefit has not yet been delivered to Canadians, and the government has
    declined to implement a disability emergency relief benefit;
    The Committee report to the House that it asks the federal government to commit that the Canada
    Disability Benefit be implemented, and immediately delivered to persons with disabilities in the first quarter of 2024

      I don't think the disability benefit will ever be allocated funding. Once Poilievre gets in it will be repealed and that is the end of that. Even if it gets funded now once the election happens it is finished.

    on the benefit every Canadian in Canada should be able to receive this benefit not just those folks that are on the disability tax credit program because if it's just those people, then the rest of us have to starve it's literally getting there I think provincial programs assistance for Disability supports for Disabilityinsurance companies all people that have a long-term disability should be qualified for this benefit. Not just the ones that are through the Disability tax credit. This is what we are hearing as the community if this is, so this is crazy, because I see my friends eating out of dumpsters, Disability people, and even me sometimes because I don't get enough from the food bank not enough for my provincial program I need a benefit, and they would not approve me for this Disability tax credit and my friends because you have to be basically dead to receive that tax credit this is just a joke what is happening here many people killed themselves they cannot handle this anymore living in poverty. Please make sure Canadians with a long-term disability can receive this benefit.🙏🙏

    Which tax payer pays for this program? I'm already taxed far beyond what is affordable and you want more of my money to pay for social programs which ultimately will lead to an economic crash. Free money does not help societies, it puts people under government control. Again who pays for this?

    • @Anomalyy666
      @Anomalyy666 8 месяцев назад

      Maybe they should stop paying useless provinces like Quebec tens of billions of dollars for nothing and give it to the poor.

      but no problem paying for a tax to supposedly fix "climate change" or to help with the people of Ukraine's pension plans....meanwhile Canada's most vulnerable that paid taxes for years in some cases and became disabled through no choice of their own...oh noooooo we can't help them...let em starve eh? Your compassion brings a tear to me eye.

      I have no problem being taxed a little more to help disabled people not live in poverty. I am lucky enough not to live with a disability - but I have a loved one trying to survive on the PWD in BC. It is brutal. Of all the other things we pay tax for, this one doesn't bother me a bit. And disabled people will actually spend this money in the economy - not hoard it like all the rich fuckers.

      Free money?!?!?! Excuse me??? I worked from the age of 13 and over the years I've paid my taxes.
      I don't have kids but yet I still pay property taxes for your kids to get educated. Is that fair? Nope
