I've had my small Loulou for more than 2 years now and I love it. It's very durable, no wear and tear on mine, it fits a lot and so comfy to carry. I hope it becomes a classic of Saint Laurent because it sure does look and feels like a classic bag.

Thanks Aimee. This was very helpful. I was considering the Small Lou Lou. A new small puffer came out right before lockdown and I’d love to see that one IRL to compare with the small Lou Lou.
As it pertains to the toy Lou Lou (which I have and like a lot) you could easily swap out the leather strap for a chain strap for a dressier look since the strap is removable. Just wanted to point that out to the folks that may be considering it.
About to comment the same ... I saw in one review with the strap being swapped with a chain one and it looks amazing 😉 and the plus point is that you can easily get your preferred chain length according to your height

I did exactly that.. swapped my leather strap for a chain. I have the same color combo as Amy’s Medium Loulou mine being the Toy Loulou- it took me a while to find the antique gold chain to match and glad I did. Love the look.
Exactly! I love my beige toy Lou Lou with a chain strap from my other YSL bag. But I also love to mix it with a bulkier LV vachetta strap. Very versatile bag.

Very true. It’s hard to find good videos on YSL. Chanel and LV communities are over saturated. But in a way I love the facts that YSL goes under the radar. It keeps a beautiful luxury bag with amazing quality at a great price point.

Thank you for your videos; you’ve persuaded me on a number of handbags. I also have a Toy Lou Lou, and while it is unfortunate that the strap is all leather, I do want to point out that it is designed to be converted to a wristlet strap for some additional versatility.

I recently got the toy loulou based on your rec. , I havent yet been able to wear it but I am so glad I got it ! I thought it was a bit too casual at first but you can make it more night time appropriate by swapping the leather strap for a more dressy chain strap.

I brought the medium in beige because of you, its simply beautiful and I'm so glad I own it and you are right but to me it actually looks better than a Chanel jumbo.
I agree. I think the YSL loulou line is gorgeous and looks better than the Chanel classic. The price point is perfect as well, I mean cheaper is always better, but I don’t think they need to reduce their prices as she said. I think Chanel definitely needs to reduce their prices however 😆... But in terms of the loulou it definitely is a better looking bag that the Chanel jumbo as you said ❤️

I have toy lou lou in black with silver hardware and i love it! Like Amie, i prefer chain strap so I got the coach “dinky” metal chain strap in silver and it hooks just like the leather strap on the bag. it honestly elevated the bag so much.

I have the Toy Lulu in patent black leather and it’s my favorite! I get so much use out of it, I find the compartments inside to really help fit a lot inside. I highly recommend it!
Also the toy lulu has so many card slots so I don’t need to put a wallet in.
I’ve been torn between getting the toy Loulou and the small one for a while (they are both sooo cute!) Thank you Amie for the thorough review! I really wish YSL designed the interior of the small and medium sizes with suede or calf leather rather than the fabric as is. That would really justify the price difference between even the small size vs. the toy for a more luxurious feeling.
Oh I get that. I actually tend to favour fabric linings though - leather often comes with added weight so I'd rather go for the lighter option. I know a lot of people do prefer all leather though. And I agree - the price jump is high!

The Mini Lou Lou is cute, you could always swap out the leather strap for a silver chain. I don’t mind mixing metals. You could try it with your Senreve gold chain 😉 it’s a beautiful bag ❤️

I've got the YSL Niki in medium which is the perfect day bag where you can shove anything in but the Lou Toy is PERFECT as an evening/clubbing bag as I tend to just take a card holder, essential makeup, keys and my phone.

I actually got it when I was in Korea last year!
I have a black toy Loulou and also wished it had some chain on the strap. Because the strap is interchangeable I ended up buying an all chain strap from Coach for $30! The hardware matches perfectly and that allows me to switch between day and night. It might bother some that its all chain, but honestly the bag is so small and never super heavy so it doesn't hurt my shoulder.

You forgot to mention that the toy strap is designed so it can be worn as a wristlet as well, which I think is a HUGE pro! I Also it has card slots inside so you don’t need to prioritize space for a separate card holder in it 😊 love my toy and feel like it’s a 3 or even 4 in 1 bag because of the strap, as it can be worn as a clutch (or even with a separate chain strap as you said you would prefer), wristlet, shoulder and crossbody! 😍
