- Although Intel Corporation (INTC) reported fourth quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations on both the top and bottom lines, the report failed to impress some investors. Epistrophy Capital Research chief market strategist Cory Johnson and head of Citizens JMP Mark Lehmann join Julie Hyman on Market Domination Overtime to weigh in on the results and share their outlooks for the company. Johnson argues that Intel continues to "make a mess," stating, "This is not a good print." While he acknowledges that certain areas of the business are showing incremental improvement, he notes, "This company is not what it used to be, and it is not revered by the startups and by the companies that are doing cutting-edge things in Silicon Valley." He emphasizes that, although we're in a new era of technology, Intel may be "bottoming out" and will need a strong strategy from its next CEO to turn things around. Lehmann points out that "it's really hard for tech companies to reinvent themselves," stressing that Intel must target high-growth markets and be "relentless" in identifying those opportunities. "This is not a new epiphany that this company is falling behind," Lehmann says. "It's been going on slowly ... and it's been happening for a long time." Intel board of directors really botched it again kicking out Pat. They were expecting decades of mismanagement to be corrected in 4 years?
@@joonlee2031 it was a massive gamble/bet for Gelsinger to double down on manufacturing and compete on a 2 front war with AMD and TSMC. They put themselves into so much financial strain with their manufacturing buildout they have had to sell stakes in a fab and layoff a large chunk of their workforce. Now AMD is pulling ahead leveraging TSMC'S packaging and chiplet technologies and gobbling up Intels sever markershare. The right choice may have been to realise the limitations of their Financials and go fabless, and leverage TSMCs technologies in their architectures, rather than only half leverage the capacities and technologies of TSMC, due to still revolving alot of their designs around their lagging foundries.
Intel 🤣. Buy low.......Sell lower.
If you bought it yesterday at that dip, and sold it at this small EPS bump, before it went down again, you could have made $1. Oh boy! LOL. Yup, I'd rather dumpster dive than fuss with that.
What does this guy not get about intel's situation? They had dug an incredible hole for themselves for years. It's going to take years to climb out of it. They are doing the painful work now, thanks to Pat Gelsinger. Hope him leaving doesn't portend the company yielding to short-term brained traders like this guy who thinks spinning off foundry would be a good idea at this stage.
I agree but as he says, 4:03, can they do it? No. They have competitors, very good ones. How can they do better, fast enough before they collapse? Hmmm!
@@TheBooban all they have to do is build the fabs, which is exactly what they are doing. Each fab takes about 18 months to become operational. INTC is an obvious buy for anyone who is willing to invest for 5-10 years.
@ i thought so too, but if you know a little bit. TSMC is not successful just because they built fabs, and that’s not easy either. You have to build it and run it efficiently and you have to take care of your customers. No, its not just to build the fab and they are the same as TSMC and customers will flock to then. They’ll build and it’ll be half assed and they won’t manage their customers.
Good time to buy, Intel will rebound very strong.
@@TheBooban TSMC doesn't sell chips. Intel does. The goal of the fabs isn't to make money manufacturing chips for other companies (although that's good too), the goal of the fabs is to have complete vertical integration so that they can cut out the cost of middlemen when producing the chips. That only works if you have fabs which can compete with TSMC though otherwise the chips themselves suffer from subpar manufacturing. Right now their fabs can't compete. Once they have fabs which can compete they will have chips as good as AMD which cost less for them to manufacture, giving them high profit per chip than AMD.
Edit: And let's not forget that ALL of Intel's new fabs are based in the US. This makes them immune to Trump's tarrifs. TSMC primarily has chips in Taiwan. Anyone paying TSMC to manufacture their SoCs is going to have to raise the price of their products in the US making them less competitive.
They are shorting Intel . You can see that but it’s ok they will break front teeth in it soon.
@@Seekee Careful with that point of view... WallStreetBets might jump on that with Roaring Kitty
buy or sell?????
Dividend investing is my jam! I'm building wealth with a buy-and-hold strategy in my Roth account, featuring Rockstar's like Berkshire B stock, SCHD, and S&P 500 and total market ETFs. My taxable account is also getting in on the action, generating regular income through dividend-paying stocks. It's a winning combo that's helping me achieve my financial dreams and all thanks to my financial advisor
Your strategy is a perfect example of a solid plan! Combining dividend stocks with a buy-and-hold approach sets you up for success. This is incredible. Could you pls recommend your FA? I'm trying to find a certified one to boost my investments/portfolio. Can I get a recommendation from you, since you know about this stuff?
My FA is Gabriel Alberto William, a renowned figure in his line of work. I recommend researching his credentials further. He has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market
Thank you for this tip, it was easy to find your coach by just googling his full name and his credentials shows up immediately. Based on his résumé, he appears to possess a high level of proficiency, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such an elite
Why not just invest it yourself instead of some fly-by -night FA taking your money. Fools 😂
That's not no Cory Johnson😂😂😂
.....and down it goes again....ha!
Manipulated stock. That's basically it. 😊
DEI = Didn't Earn It
Literally wat?
Btw here’s our antisemitism laws :)
You're under all the Intel videos. What's wrong with you?
@@vrclckd-zz3pv Intel has destroyed itself with DEI hires. It has been enormously politically correct and is now paying the price for that with subpar performance.
.
@@Detvanliga I'm sure DEI is making things worse, but that is not the primary reason for their lackluster performance. They decided to invest in alternative technologies to EUV, when it became clear that it wasn't working they chose to pursue short term profits over investing in EUV for long term sustainability. Then in 2016 AMD came out with Zen using TSMC's 10NM node, which Intel couldn't match without EUV. It's been a slow decline since then. All they have to do is build new fabs using EUV tech, which is exactly what they're doing. They need to catch up by 5-6 generations and each fab takes an average of 18 months to build. DEI is bad for business, but the damage done by that is nothing compared to the damage done by their myopic investment decisions.
Why are you analyzing a dead company? 😂😂😂
It's a tradition the mourn the dead, which involves denial. R.I.P. Intel. ☠
