This so helped me. A Toyota Yaris pulled up to my Outback at a red light. He looked over, gave me the nod and smile and I knew. He was giving it some gas and the earth started shaking. His dual exhaust was nuts. I put it into M mode and knew it was on. Just the feeling of those little pieces of protruding plastic from the sides of the steering wheel inspired confidence. I launched into 1, 2, 3, 4 as fast as the car would allow. I rolled a Yaris. I am now super confident that I await a Prius at the next stoplight. I'm ready for you now!

    1. You Don't need to let foot off accelerator when using paddle shifters.

    3. Use 100% acceleration and most automatic cars will downshift automatically.
    4. Try downshifting in drive mode. most paddles will throw you down a gear for passing acceleration necessity.

So how would you come to a stop in this mode? Like would you have to downshift all the way down till you get back to first gear and then can you stop? Or can you just stop straight up

question I'm new to paddle shifting, I know for lower rpms you get more HP if I'm taking my time to work but paddling when needed should I be I'm a higher gear? 7,8,9? The RPMs seem lower then, and if I'm gunning it downshift to like 3,4 ? Please Advise thank you in advance.

emrecan elmas you can either drive your car in manual mode or in automatic mode. If you switch manual/paddle shift mode to automatic, the car will runs in fully automatic mode.. only thing is that you can't switch it while the car is running.

I wasn't sure whether to hold the accelerator when shifting or come off the accelerator and then shift, I didn't want to risk any damage so I haven't tried it again. I want to give it another go today, what shall I do, press the accelerator or come off it when shifting?
