The final day of qualifying for the 70th NHRA US Nationals has wrapped up and in typical Indy fashion the storylines and drama this weekend were unbeatable. The Kalitta Top Fuel dragsters that have dominated the class all season found themselves with one run left both needing to make their way into the field. Doug Kalitta bumped himself into the field but only on the bubble. Leaving Shawn Langdon on deck with a chance to bump his teammate out. In Pro Stock Motorcycle Gaige Herrera came back to life with a vengeance and brought the fight to the Matt Smith Racing team. And the ongoing story of Brittany Forces championship hopes are close to ending as she secured her number 1 qualifier spot heading into Monday's eliminations.

Would love to but I'm finding myself being burnt out trying to follow all 4 + PM and factory stock showdown. May try and figure a way to make it happen next year. I'm definitely becoming more interested in it though.

There’s no “major championship shake up”. Kalitta will STILL start at #1 when the chase starts, regardless of the race results.
