Of course it was the Strat;-) Have you seen any of my videos? Hahaha. Yeah the Midtown's a bit out my bidget. I'm poor. This Fender is an extravegance for me:-)
So.. oddly enough I am in possession of this exact guitar. Serial number matches identical same as the grain in the headstock. Thanks for taking care of this beauty over the years
I was hoodwinked! Ha ha. Glad it was the fender. Nice tip about the serial #'s. I agree, the stock appeal is where it is at. Sweet looking guitar! Can't get enough of those Fender's. Good video
I still have every guitar I've ever bought, even the unplayable guitars from my childhood. I don't think I have the ability to off load them. I've sold 1 pedal and I still regret it.
great looking guitar! theres 3 of my guitars I would never trade ive grown too fond of them and I know if I got rid of them I would regret it, ive done that before and wont do it again. I used to trade my guitars all the time but now ive built a relationship with some of my guitars and they will stay with me forever.
00-03 were the best years for the American Standard.... I have never played a bad one... can't say the same for years prior or after... something about those 4 years.
Must be black magic. Certain years have involved spiritual rituals for the factory workers, it must be that! Or perhaps it's just your cognitive biases working against you.
i have a 2001 maple with a refinish the pickups aren't the stock ones i dont think bc the guy who had it before the person i bought it from installed expensive pickups in it that someone took out then sold separately to max their profits so now i have no idea what pickups are in mine haha. it plays great and with a lot of knob tweaking and height adjustments... i can make it sound good on most the pick up selections, its a little tricky i wish it had stock 2001 pickups.
Those TexMex pick ups are hotter version of those American series Stratocaster pups. Like 7,5 ohms when am.std are 5,5-6.0 ohms .They even have a same plastic bobbin stamp= number on them. These same Tex mex pups are now installed into new MIM Player series strats, so there is nothing new . They invented a "new Player series" but had lots of left over pups from previous series of guitars so they recycled them. To the point, ur Strat looks awesome, you made wise decision over it! Cheers mate!
@Woodeso - I still have my USA 2001 Stock Fender Deluxe Fat Strat. A darker red than yours with the wood grain coming through. It has noiseless pickups with pearl-ish dot inlays. I looked around Ebay and couldn't find anyone selling the exact same one. I guess owners are keeping them as a retirement investment? LOL
OK question. I've had my USA stranded HSS. Anyway why am I getting indentions on my fist 2 frets just started. I don't want them to get really bad. So until I find out why Iam playing my fender telecaster deluxe. They look set up the same. Help. I love playing this STRAT.
A racing stripe. Jesus Christ. In all seriousness, its mind blowing you were not formally aware about the value loss. I knew that when I was 12. It applies to every physical asset in your life. You should make a plaque "Basement of Pointless Depreciation"
The stock pickups sound really nice. Aren't you curious what the Tex Mex would sound in that cool axe. After all. You could keep the original pickups for that guy who needs to have the originals. Then again do you really want to sell I go him. Eheh. I believe in making it your own... As long as it's an improvement. (Then again you won't catch me changing pickups out of a 57 Les Paul). 😉
The model designation changed in year 2000 to "American Series" and remained there for maybe three years; then going back to "American Standard." No big deal. But we guitar guys are almost as bad as the baseball crowd, regarding sadistics!
^^^ Those saddles ARE known as 'Block Saddles' & they came as standard-fit on the 2000-2007 "American Series" Mid-2008 they made alterations & reverted back to the "American Standard" name & cheap bent saddles
Hi Buddy. I just got a Squier strat built in India. It's only a few years old and the serial no is SH 07106992. How old is it? Google can't really help me.
Try some Marshall amp knobs, they are knurled too, easy to finger.Nice guitar had one when I was 16 .sorry I sold that one!Nice to see someone else that thinks strats are nice stock! Sometimes! If you want to sell it let me know.
Those American Series strats (2000-2007?) don't really hold value that well. I owned a couple and they look and feel like quality, but they sound kinda dead. I thought it might be that most of them have 4-piece bodies and the paint is kinda thick, but who knows. I parted mine out because selling them complete was so much less than their original price.
It takes 2 min to change the knobs and blade end cover. So if you like it that way wait tell your ready to take the leap then put them back on. another option is tell the guy or girl I have it like this but here are the original knobs and blade end and they will think he came up becouse he got $5 or $10 worth of stuff.
I like to keep mine also. And why out of any guitar would you not keep a strat. So many men have had famous strats that they have had forever! They wear so well, especially an american standard. Like mine is my strat like forever ya know.

That's a beautiful guitar stock. I love the pickups. Nice fret dressing.
I still have every guitar I've ever bought, even the unplayable guitars from my childhood. I don't think I have the ability to off load them. I've sold 1 pedal and I still regret it.

Do you think you'll use those Tex-Mex pickups for something else? they seem like pretty cool pickups.
What are the stock pickups that come in that guitar?
I have the same guitar in the same color - 2001 American series in hot rod red with rosewood fingerboard
Nice color! Decked/blocked tremolo. Did you deck it or did it come that way already?
Infamuz619 No, the trem is operational:-)

Stew mac has stainless fret protectors so you never have to use tape to polish frets
Love the Deluxe saddles. Is the whole bridge from a Deluxe?

Hey there, what erasers do you use to polish the frets? crimson guitars? 2x different grits?
aukino tanga Yeah these are the only two available from Crimson. One course and one fine grit. Works great!!
Those are the problems when we buy guitars we want to keep them
damn it sounds really good
Still have it?? I would buy it

Haven't seen your Epiphone ES339 lately? Was it sacrificed to the trade gods already?

And if there was an L on the neck plate, I would buy it from you for $1,000 no worries 😉
