My tribute to the Dakotas, a great TV western. Starring Larry Ward, Jack Elam, Chad Everett, and Michel Green. Fan made, no copyright intended. I do not own the clips or the song.
One of the *ABSOLUTE BEST* Western TV series ever made !!! It's a SHAME it was cancelled after only 19 episodes !! Many series with MUCH LONGER RUNS weren't *HALF* as GOOD !!! Produced by WARNER BROS. !!
Emily Sullivan, I love this, love Chad Everett. I don't really remember this show, but we must've watched it. I can remember those striped britches Jack Elam wore and after that my Daddy always called him old striped britches every time we saw him on a show!!
It’s not on the internet… because it was made by Warner Brothers. And, WB, like Disney, keeps a TIGHT LID on their properties. They don’t want them on RUclips, or for sale by ANYBODY ELSE but Warner Bros. If they are not DIRECTLY PROFITING from their products, they will go after ANYONE ELSE that IS !!
@@dirigojewelry have you watched all of the series? Fargo, Return to Dryrock, Reformation at Big Nose Butte, and Crisis at High Banjo are all J.D . Episodes
@@ashleypitt1 thanks for that! Full disclosure: I've had the entire series for over a year but keep watching the first three discs to draw it out as there's only the one season. You've inspired me to move to the next!
This was a superior TV series. The "A Man Called Ragan" episode aired on "Cheyenne" as a stand-alone episode serving as a pilot for the series. The characters and situations were more realistic than most series. This show should have had many more seasons but was canceled due to low ratings and a controversy over a shooting in a church that upset some vocal viewers who complained to the network rather vociferously. A great pity.

Makes me glad to be alive

Thank you! He was awesome! I love him in the Return of the Gunfighter. Haha yeah those stood out 😂😂
This was a great show. I recently bought the DVD's from Amazon and found it to be one of the best westerns I've ever seen, and I watch most of them.
Man. I've never seen this show and I can't find it on the internet, but after watching this video I want to see it so bad!
It’s a great show! Yeah it’s not on the internet as far as I know. We got it from our local library. And you can buy it on Amazon.
@@emilysullivan2336 I should try ordering it from the library then. Looks great!
@@irenevincent6610 You should really enjoy it. It's a great series that doesn't sell out.
It's difficult to find but entirely worth it. I wasn't around for the tv run, but I bought the series and regularly watch it. I adore Jack Elam.

Love this! And lots of J.D.’s fast draws.
He was my absolute favorite. ❤️
@@dirigojewelry He steals every scene he is in. Watch him doing small reactions in the background. And he was never trained as an actor.
@@ashleypitt1 I totally agree! Can't take my eyes off him. This was his best role, in my opinion anyway. He really got to shine.

I had heard that it had already been RENEWED for a SECOND SEASON at the time the episode that KILLED the series aired…
recently bought the compllete series dvds, great pity the series was discontinued probably one of the best western tv shows.
One of the great westerns of the day. Could not understand why it was cancelled. Jack Elam was the best!
Very well done. I love this series!
I have been writing some Fanfics on the series if you would like to read them. Lots of J.D.
