With an injury like that, the body takes a bit (seconds to minute+) to react. The real pain comes soon after and doesn’t go away for a while, if ever.

I was watching the game on my phone. As soon as seen the way he brought Dak down, I knew something wasn't right. As soon as I seen his ankle, I said to my wife, Dak broke it. I was so disappointed. My hopes just fell through the floor.
He probably didn’t feel anything. He was in shock from suffering such a severe injury, and he had a ton of adrenaline pumping through him

I'm shocked and happy that there are so many people giving Dak well wishes, man the times have changed.
eoe123321 no it hasn’t, I remember back in the early 90’s when I was a kid, people use to clown on people who were injured because it usually meant their team had a better chance of winning. Even among players in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s , it was a culture of extreme toughness and survival of the fittest. This is demonstrated when Ronnie Lott famously amputated his pinkie so he wouldn’t have to have a long recovery time from it being broken. So it has gotten “softer” in some aspects for some, but I think it’s for the better for the most part, especially for the players.

CHIGGS 58TH you’re missing the point, it was a ‘light injury” but he choose to take the nuclear option and cut it off and be done with it to cut down the playing time he would miss had he chosen the safe route. Dak appeared to have injury his ankle, in that era he would of been told to stay off of it, put a brace on it and ice the hell out of it for a week or two. Now he’s getting surgery as we speak and possibly missing a few games in order to treat his injury. My point is most injuries are treated differently in this new era.
CHIGGS 58TH I’m not sure where you got that idea about it ONLY happened to bad QBs but if the rival team is solid and is firing on all cylinders, then the QB gets injured and they put in the backup QB, that usually throws off the teams rhythm and knocks down their effectiveness considerably. Dak being a black QB back then or now has no bearing in this situation which is a weird way to turn. Keep in mind that although there where fewer black QBs vs now, there still were a lot of legends, Warren Moon, Kordel Steward, Randle Cunningham, Steve McNair, , and Doug Williams who was the first black QB to win a Super Bowl in SB 22.

I am so grateful to be alive today. My girlfriend saved my life last night. This is a selfie I took in the emergency room after having a severe allergic reaction to almonds. I went into anaphylaxis, meaning my face, my lips, my eyes, my tongue, and my throat all started swelling up rapidly, making it almost impossible for me to breathe. I also had a rash all over my entire body, and I was extremely red. Staying alive had never felt more difficult. At one point, my nasal passage was completely blocked, and it was getting more and more difficult to breathe. They shot me up with Benadryl, steroids, they gave me a breathing tube, and even other stuff that I can’t even remember, and it caused all of the swelling and the rash to go away. Because this was a severe allergic reaction, I need to continue taking steroids and Benadryl for the next week, because it is possible that the allergic reactions could come back at any point over the next week. The steroids and Benadryl make me feel like a zombie, and I really want to take care of my health, so this will be my main focus over the next week. I want to thank my amazing girlfriend, who made the decision to take me to the emergency room the second I started feeling itchy. I was hesitant about going, because I didn’t even want to believe this was actually happening. If it weren’t for my girlfriend driving me to the emergency room only minutes after eating the almonds, there is a good chance that I wouldn’t have made it according to the doctor. This has been without a doubt the hardest few days of my life, but I also look at them as the most important few days of my life. These moments have reminded me about what’s really important in life, and it has made me so grateful to even be here on this earth. I will be prioritizing my health over the next week, and I’ll post updates about how I feel. Thank you all for being patient during these difficult times. This week has been NUTS (too soon for jokes? 😅)

As a panthers fan you should know your boy teddy's story. Very similar but happened in training camp and was life threatening injury. He came back and now is back leading a team. Years later. Facts Lamb was a great pick. He has played extremely well so far and I’m exited to see what he can achieve. It’s impressive how tough he is. He’s taken some big hits, especially that one in this game, and has always gotten right back up with complete control of the ball. He’s got definite potential to become a star.

@@EstParum You've never played sports. I've seen guys in highschool with similar injuries come back next year. He's in the NFL with the worlds best orthopedic physicians and tons of resources. He'll be walking in about 3-4 weeks. His season is likely done tho.

I do hope Dak recovers and comes back 100%. But now Dallas will probably run the offense that fits the player make up. Dalton will lead you no where in the long run. But his best seasons were handing the ball off and running play action. You can hide him letting him throw 25 times a game off play action. Run the football keep that defense off the field. Pass off play action and probably win 8 games. Or keep throwing in 50+ times a game and be 4 and 12.

TJ he was actually pretty good as a starter. The man never had an O Line in Cincinnati and his only consistent weapon was AJ Green. Not to mention that he currently holds pretty much every passing record for the Bengals. It was amazing that he took the garbage ass Bengals to the playoffs five times in a row in nine seasons with them. He’s DEFINITELY underrated and under appreciated. I’m excited af to see what he can do with a decent O line, great RBs, and great WRs.

Looks like its likely a dislocated ankle and a bunch of torn/sprained muscles. they were able to put it straight and in a boot but hes going into surgery so well know how bad it really was soon.

Our defense is trash rn cause we don’t have our main guys no corners no linebackers no line
The offense did cause 14 points yesterday with prescotts pic six and then that messed up snap with Dalton. Last week the offense caused about 14+ points also. And against seattle they turned it over 2-3 times near their own endzone and a safety. Then atlanta about 2-3 turnovers near their own endzone. That is a cause for a chunk of the points every week. So in reality they are not a bottom 5 defense like the stats show. But they are definitely not a top 10 defense like they were from 17-19.
There is no defensive chemistry, because the main guys are injured.
@Jam Drew they allowed 2 tds, but one of those tds was after a fumble on Dallas 19, after the defense got off the field, so i get that one. Really only 1 td is totally on the defense yesterday.

There are three outcomes with dak. They sign him. They tag him. They do nothing and he becomes a free agent.
They won’t tag him because his next tag will be 20% of the salary cap.
They won’t sign him unless he signs a very team friendly deal. Less than 10m salary.
I’m willing to bet this was his last time in a Dallas uniform. He’ll play again but it’s not in the cards for Dallas

Alex had very serious complications with his injury. It was of the same type (compound fracture), however Dak is already out of surgery and did well. He’ll probably be back next year. Chill out with the sappy condolences for the time being.

I thought the most amazing thing was that Jason Garrett came out to check on Dak Prescott when he got hurt. That's the beauty of sports. It brings people together.
