I have had similar experiences with the music of MercyMe. There are too many songs I could play again and again. Can't count the times their music kept me focused, driven, distraction free, positive or lifted me out of dark times. Hands up and Better days were my favorites off the album but they are ALL exceptional works that glorify God and point to Jesus. We are blessed to be alive during their anointed gifts.

He turned to me and I witnessed to him and even though he is an athiest he said he was praying! He's an addict too that has never known a real family and he thinks of me now as a mom. This is my testimony. Paranoid schizophrenic with bipolar and ADD since I was 5. I had visions of heaven and hell and demons and Jesus. One of them was him holding me and hugging me on my bed. Adopted from a drug ridden mental patient mother. Never met my birth dad. Was hanging around gangs and guns and abuse and drugs were my thing. Tried to commit suicide many times and in the mental hospital 9 times. Was on the move all the time never sat still. Bad grades no college and on disability (still am) im only 22 years old. I was last all my life, mentally, socially, spiritually. But Jesus wanted to put me first. Praise God! He saves!

I just got back from an Israel Biblical tour of Jesus Ministries with my son's church group.
While on this Biblical tour of Jesus's ministries, what came to me was an incredibly profound need, urge, and will to have a stronger relationship with our Father. So, it came to me, while traveling the steps of Jesus ministries, with attentive ears and open eyes, I was sent and received signs of the Holy Spirit, some loud and obvious, others inaudible internal. Some through righteous fellowship of the Word and the Way. Some came in the depths while in meditation and reflection. And then Christ found me. This song took me back to the moment I was Saved. We went to the MercyMe Concert in Louisville, KY last Nov 23’ and it was awesome!!! I’m so glad that they’re touring soon so count at least 4 of us there. I too play the “I Can Only Imagine” dvd each morning as a reset. I was suffering a lot of misery yet played this loud in the hot shower. “This is in your hands my Lord.” I got called for surgery which was at least a month early- 5 fusions in the L-S back section. I’m so grateful to have Him as my rock or probably wouldn’t have made it. I darn near crawled up & down the venue stairs in Louisville yet I wasn’t going to miss this concert as my soul needed this.
