Cruising through awesome bush like that and seeing nothing beats fighting ugly bush and spooking everything! Great video, good to see some more videos mate.
Nice one Nik, glad to see you’re still out chasing the sika. The sika series you did a few moons ago is still some of my fav sika vids on RUclips, always a good watch! Maybe time for a second series?!? 👌
Cheers Greg! That series turned out not too bad aye. Was awesome covering all that country. Dunno if I'd have the time these days, especially with those rusa to chase as well!
You have days like that on deer. And I have a great dog out front. It helps these times to remember why we get out there and just enjoy it! Great camera work!
@nikmaxwell I just did some exploring in behind some of the windthrown areas in the pine and native and would have seen about 10 for the day. Seen 5 or 6 out in the cut over driving in. 🫣 most looked like hinds. Keep up the cool vids mate 🤙🏽
Not a sign of any blaze orange anywhere Nick??? Clements Rd- the most heavily hunted place in NZ !!! Be seen & not shot!!!! Some idiots shoot at movement & without any visible blaze you become a moving target for dickheads.
I've never worn Blaze Orange and don't intend to start. One thing I have noticed over the years is a large shift from the hunting community to not wear it as well. Furthermore, most of our mainstream hunting apparel manufacturers, distributors and retailers have also moved away from Blaze Orange. Take a look at our our top 3 hunting appeal brands and you'll see that there is a very limited range of Blaze Orange garments on offer.
good quality video and commentary, really enjoyed it
Cheers bro, appreciate it!
Great to see you out there Nik! Some trips are like that…. At least you know where some good bush is. Nice video as always! 👍
Thanks bro! Yeh it's some bloody nice bush alright!
Cool video Nick, you have captured the sika country really well 👍

Yeh mate, especially on sika, and Clements! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome vid 🤙I was in there a couple months back and was tough going as far as sign/animals. Either that or I'm more rusty than I thought haha.
Thanks mate! Yeh copy that. I reckon you can be forgiven for seeing bugger all up Clements haha.
Cool vid! Almost looked like that hail storm that hit me when I was hunting in Lake Taupō forest on a Saturday 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Cheers bro! Yeh that'll be around then. How did you get on?!
