Not a developer. I thought I'd share my personal practical application of Twilio in my photo booth business. My software uses my Twilio API to send people their pictures via SMS. It's a very easy and inexpensive way to automate the process.
how do you manage this? What's the software?

how's the picture quality? or do you just send a link to the pictures? because sms has a limit on file size, so a HD picture won't send as HD
I have the same business and the first two time I used it was good, but now my account is not working I can't find the way to fix it.
@@meritb4317 The party is over for so-called "A2P SMS" due to spammers. You'll need to fill out some forms that don't work properly, wait six weeks for the IRS to send you a letter with the exact character-for-character name you have been using to fill out the form but that Twilio's form still rejects, and then find out you can't even call someone at twilio for help unless you spend $1500 *PER MONTH* with them. Most people have given up unless it's actually worth the hassle or they have a fully-staffed legal department that can help them.

So what does Twilio do, in the Whatsapp example that they gave in the video? Whatsapp is owned by FB, so what will Twilio do there? Is FB Twilio's customer then? What will a business owner who uses Whatsapp do? Will they reach out to FB or Twilio?

Marketing material makes facts nebulous. What is Twilio? I still don't really know. I think it is cloud based event/message bus with prepackaged connectors to various other things, like email, SMS Messaging, Facebook, etc. but I am not exactly sure if my understanding is correct.
You have the right general idea though the implementation is a bit different than described. Twilio is a cloud communication platform comprised of APIs, SDKs, and application platforms that make it easy for businesses to communicate with their customers more effectively. You can buy individual phone numbers from us and control what happens with them for inbound/outbound calls/SMS, you can build voice/video/text chat using our IP SDKs, you can send transactional email, or you can use Twilio Flex which is a fully customizable cloud contact center that's pre-built for common use cases but open-ended for your needs. Very affordable, but it is bad without a online live chat. I sometimes have some small issues, and have to send request via email

So what does it do? This is a horrible video as it explains nothing! What does Twilio do? It's like a video that explains what Facebook is by saying "Oh it will change your life and benefit your business in so many ways!" And we still don't know what it does. Needs to be redone so that it actually tells you what Twilio does.

I can send normal sms to any numbers but I can send whatsapp messages to some numbers which are sent "JOIN BLA BLA" to twilio number.I can't send sms to any numbers.

Yes, things like Chat and Video are available everywhere! And you can use Twilio Voice/SMS in India though there are some limitations due to the regulations there (support.twilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/223134167-Limitations-sending-SMS-messages-to-Indian-mobile-devices).
Rather use infobip platform.

Twilio is a company that hires a lot of 22 year olds to design in silos without ever speaking to one another and then they ship whatever comes out no matter how horrible it is because somebody has to give a presentation at a trade show.
