What happened to the volvo v70?
Dude. The oil filter housing has a drain point in the middle so it doesn’t throw all the oil over you when you change the filter.
Also the small O ring on the drain bit is replaced by the tiny o ring on the oil filter. 👍🏻

@@James__bond007how not so? Hated gen so they’re cheaper than others, AWD, vr6, comes with lots of nice creature comforts, mines still got 0 lights on the dash at 187k, taken me all across the country and still my daily driver

Best modern hatchback imo. Fantastic feel and feedback, near 400hp out of an edition 30 with simple bolt ons. Far better than the dead mk7 gen
@@MikelDogcrazy to call the mk7 platform dead. It’s one of the most capable cars on the road for money. Mind you it does 95% of the work for you but that’s besides the point.

I used to have a 1998 MK3 VR6 Golf....had it just over 13 years...that car was stock and took 6.3 liters of engine oil...even mechanic at the time said the most he has filled same spec car with oil was 5.7 liters....❤ from Cape Town

To all R32 / VR6 / VR5 owners, if u dont want to have oil everywhere when changing the oil filter, there is a designated plug to empty the filterhousing before removing it.

Wow that soo cheap mate.. here in Indonesia r32 mk5 in pristine condition can cost around $35.000-$40.000 mate ( less than 5 units around here ) and for mk5 gti 3 doors will cost you around $15.000-$20.000, the 5 doors is cheaper, I own vw t4 VR6 24 valve 2.8 ( this type also quite rare in here, around 20 units ), and tbh for a van that VR6 24 valve is pretty damn fast😊

I saw a crappy vid where they banged a centre punch hole into the oil filter to reduce the mess from doing the filter change. It leaked out in a nice stream through the hole.
i'd be wanting to change the oil early the next few times as the old oil was horrible, just to help clean some old crap out without using additives which might hurt things

Why do the MK5 rust so bad, my next door neighbour had one and in the three years she had it it went from fresh looking to a rust bucket. She washed and taked care but it was atrociously rusted at the sills and back...
