    WHO ARE KARA AND NATE?!
New here? We are full-time travel vloggers with a goal of visiting 100 countries before 2019. We make daily travel videos. In these videos you can expect to see the best foods and adventures of every country we visit. ;)
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on RUclips, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown , and any other talented travel vloggers that RUclips’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)

You guys are amazing! I'm Chilean but grew up in USA. Thank you for taking me back to my birth country through your videos. I see a lot of negative comments from the neighboring country. Pisco has been in Chile since the 1800. We make it a little different than Peru but it's a drink that it's part of both countries. Actually Chile made it famous by importing it to Europe for many years and our neighbors saw the success we were having and became a little jealous ☺. Ceviche is claimed by Peru and Ecuador but it's really a famous dish in all of Latin America. We are neighboring countries therefore we are going to have similar dishes. No need to be hostile and envious. Every country has their own special culture. Enjoy Chile 👍🇨🇱. Greetings from FL USA 🇺🇸.

Maria ller In 1800 Pisco only existed in Peru, Chile changed the name to a town in 1936 to steal the NAME PISCO, but the Chilean brandy is not pisco, it's very so lower. Peru made famous the true pisco in the world, in Hollywood they made films where Charlon Heston, James Cagney, drank the true pisco, in 1935 the film Frisco Kid set in San Francisco of the year 1850 was released where James Cagney drink pisco https : //videopress.com/v/cZHtGlEK
In 1954 in a famous movie in the minute 23:14 Charlon Heston, Nicole Murray, and Thomas Mitchell drink pisco sour ruclips.net/video/gjdgj04FzR0/видео.html In the 1800s many celebrities like Thomas W. Knox, Herbert Asbury, and begin 1900 Harold Ross, Rudyard Kipling they made tributes to the true pisco, that's why the eternal envy of Chile. Ceviche has its origin in Peru, it's not a Chilean dish nor ecuadorian, in Chile they have nothing of their own they are dedicated to copying.

Kara & Nate your videos have been fantastic until I watched this one and discovered you've been fooled around. Unfortunately, Chileans tend to copy many things from our Peruvian culture and sell it as their own. You already know what I'm talking about, don't you? The ceviche and pisco sour are Peruvian. Sorry!

    Hi Kara and Nate,
You are fantastic I enjoy so much your videos. Just a clarification, ceviche and pisco sour are originally from Peru, belong to Peru. Chile does not have such a rich culture. Pisco is a Inca's word meaning birds and there is a town down south of Lima calls Pisco where this spirit owes its name, it is like champagne comes from Champagne in France.

The original ceviche in south america is from Peru. The most ancient archaeological records are from the north of Peru, from the Caral and the Moche culture, between the II - V century. They used to cooked it with tumbo, a regional fruit. The pisco Sour was created in Lima, Peru by Víctor V. Morris in 1920.

The first documentary references to the expression "pisco sour" and the preparation of this cocktail have been found in Peru, in two articles published in Lima magazines Hogar, in September 1920, and in World, 1921.6 To them Is added an advertisement published in Chile, in the weekly The South Pacific Mail of Valparaiso, in July 1924, which promotes the Morris Bar located in Lima, Peru.

    Origin
According to the Peruvian geographer and historian Javier Pulgar Vidal, the name "seviche" comes from the Quechua word siwichi, whose meaning would be 'fresh fish' or 'tender fish'. One hypothesis proposes that the words Siwichi and Sikba were confused during the conquest of the Inca Empire by the Spaniards..............................CEVICHE IS PERU.

You'll need to try a Pisco sour when you go to Peru. There's a rivalry between Chile and Peru over Pisco. Personally, while I like Chilean Pisco (& sours), I do think the Peruvian Pisco is a step up but you should judge for yourselves.
What camera were you guys using today? Seems a little less crisp than usual.

Yes! I've tried both and it really depends on who is preparing it more than if you are in Chile or Peru, Pisco it's from Peru (there is a Peruvian city called Pisco) also is Ceviche wich I had once from a street vendor in Peru and that was much better than anything I've had in Chile, in fact in South America the last places I want to go back to eat are in Chile, that's why I was intrigued with this video, my experience is the exact opposite

    • @skyhigh33716
      @skyhigh33716 7 лет назад +4

I apologize if I offended some locals, not everyone can agree with your taste guys.
I'm not a hater, Peruvian or Bolivian, so it looks like I'm not the one with the "prejudice" problem haha just kidding dont feel bad, there are a lot of haters and that's sad but there are also different opinions and that's good ;)

mexicans eat sopapillas. chileans eat sopaipillas (slightly different spelling & pronunciation, as chileans add an extra "i" in there).

My friends pisco is the national drink from peru! You can review information, history, reports, articles etc.
you can watch this for example ruclips.net/video/JjB6VE2f5VU/видео.html
In other words the same old poeple who live in that town of chile say that pisco was always a peruvian drink.
Pisco is a word in "quechua", idiom from the incas, which means bird. Because there was many birds in the coast of pisco in peru because is close to the sea.(pacific ocean).
Even one old chilean historian man says that the word "pisco" of the "chilean liquor" was copied from one peruvian drink called Pisco.
Finally PISCO SOUR obviously the peruvian drink has the designation of origin recognized around the world.
    I LOVE YOU GUYS

I'm afraid you guys were fooled by that so called "local chef", ask the average chilean and they will tell you ceviche is not their dish, they don't even eat it unless it's on a peruvian restaurant (like many now in Santiago). As for what they call pisco sour...well I will just remind you the words from Anthony Bourdain "ohh the pisco sour (chilean), next time I'll have a beer" !!
