Very good love the industrial parts of towns throughout the world, so much has gone and as important the knowledge of local people is disappearing as folks die, and so does much information.
Uplifting video about preserving these important industrial heritage buildings as part of the future of this area.
Not sure how it has taken so long, but just discovered your work via a link to the Park Hall history. Watched this video, which caught my attention as a Burslem born Port Vale fan. Thanks for such insight into the history of these amazing buildings. I still hold hope that one day the Burslem and Middleport area will be fully restored. Middleport Pottery might just be the start.
Thanks for another great film. I cycle past loads of these old buildings and often imagine them in their heyday. We're great at flattening things these days. Less good at reconstructing and preserving

How very sad to see such an impressive building left to rot. I agree with you wholeheartedly, Jenna that it would make a wonderful apartment building. Alternatively, its a shame the local authority didn't do something similar to Armley Mill in Leeds. Another wonderful place with a fascinating tale of history and heritage to tell. brilliant video ....lived in middleport all my life .....i remember the flint mill still in operation in the late 70's early 80's .....sad to see it now slowly falling in on itself .....fantastic job you've done here .....keep up the good work

I have an oil painting of the canal side of the mill by Stockport artist David Chandler hanging in my Doncaster living room. (I tried to send you a photo but I was thwarted)

Brilliant for apartments
I love cycling past there. I always wonder what it would have been like passing by 100 years ago or 200 years ago. There’s so much history and character here that I’m afraid we’d lose if they’re not repurposed and put to good use. They’d make for very nice apartments but I’d rather they were used for something with more of an industrial function.
Great video I took pictures of this 30 years ago glad you showed us inside tho I really doubt there’s any chance in the near future of this being re purposed😮 the interior steel girders don’t look that good never mind the round supports are in very bad condition as you’ve shown I hope tho I’m wrong I really do even if some of the facade is saved 😊😊

In the present climate it is going to be very difficult. However I have some hope under the present Labour council who at least recognise the importance of protecting our heritage.
Stoke council are skint and heritage England will just sit and let it get over grown and fall down just like is happening at Chatterley Whitfield, and all they do is go through the motions of saving places , there simply is not enough money to do them up , shame really as they are monuments of or history , wonder how long it took to build something like that then a days . Another good video .
Thank you. The thing is, we can't keep replying on the council and charities, it's something that we are going to have to do. These buildings need to be turned into businesses so that they can fund themselves, we can't keep saving them and looking at them. They need a purpose. Investors are there, they just need to be allowed to make the alterations and not be allowed to demolish them for horrible new builds. We need a mixture of the historic architecture and the new that will breathe life into it all.
@@TheRedHairedStokie fully agree we at Chatterley Whitfield have offered to cut overgrown areas and council always scotch us from doing it with health and safety reasons , all they do is fence it off to stop urban explorers, but it doesn’t work as there are loads of videos by them on utube .
