I buy my flux in 55-gallon drums and apply it with a power washer. I used 7 gallons switching batteries in my watch the other day and I didn't even need to solder anything.

Where can I find a tutorial about what material they use so I dont buy the wrong stuff. Like the solder paste, the cleaning stuff, heatgun and temperature settings etc. That would be very nice.

Nice work. The resistor is a 0.005 ohm shunt resistor so i'll guss the IC was an INAxxx or simmilar instrument amplifier for current / power messurment?
There is an art to this, understanding how to do the least damage by applying heat. YEAH! Use no flux to remove these pieces, or use the bare minimum or the wrong flux... I bet you won't have the same clean results. He is using various types of flux and solder to rework the damage caused by the blown caps without causing more damage with his iron. Anyways, beautiful job.
@ytcx1 not really. Alot of flux together with the solder can end up being a very bad problem later on. When the flux gets in contact with oxygen it starts to corode. And guess where that corrosion then ends. Inside the solder of the solder joints. This will make the connection worse over time. Thats why its better to use less flux or just the flux from the solder only and then flux for reflow. Thats also the reason why we never cut solder but we solder it off a roll if we only need a bit to go

@@ytcx1 The flux is corrosive, and also protective. It's used to de-oxidize whatever has oxidized, and then protect it from further oxidization when you are soldering. Solder can't stick to oxidized surfaces easily. Things like aluminum are near impossible to solder without prepping the surface first for instance. You're supposed to wash it off after you're done because of this. A little goes a long way. It's not that his usage of it will destroy the board in the 2 minutes he's working on it. Just, that shit's expensive. There's no need to be using that much lol.
Бессмысленно тратить флюс и удалять припой. Свойства металлов не меняются от попадания жидкости, почистить плату, залудить немного и заменить сгнившие компоненты

Gel flux and heat cleans everything on a circuit board, not only the terminals/pads but the oxidized area of a board too. . . that's why a lot of flux is necessary . . .

Definitely used alot more flux than what he needed to.
There are many ways to get to one place. You choose how to. If it's flux way, then let him/her be. The end result is what matters in the repair.
