Yesterday I decided to play more F-16 after this video, was playing in Stalingrad map .. there was two Pantsirs in the other team, I did two runs on them, one GBU-8 per run, first run was high altitude and 2nd run was low altitude .. in both runs they shot my bombs with guns, people are learning .. so I was thinking maybe when I see a Pantsir or 2s6 next time will drop two bombs on each target, if the first one got shot the second one will destroy the target. Also in another battle one Pantsir player did J Out when his missile failed and my GBU-8 was going for him, worst update ever .. play 20 battles against Russia you win 3 of them, I never smiled yesterday.
Maybe a small run on Object 906? I bet I'll be fun a bit. Or on T18E2 in arcade?
It's good that CAS is becoming hard to use. Hopefully they continue to add very capable spaas to other nations to cut down on the heli spam thats plaguing the game atm.

not only fast, but it also has pretty small smoke trail, makes pilots even harder to detect the apporaching missile.
I was just lucky man, there is no gameplay against Pantsir .. only luck, so I'm going to wish good and huge luck for you, if you didn't spot it in 2 seconds I advise you to pull off and try again.

@Dipro Sla F4+F5E will be infinitely better for dodging sams as they turn wayyyyy better above 400 mph. . .
Though F16s will get better tech unfortunately in the future rather than the F4E :P

I was in that game Vs you and Justin last night (Poland), even with a stacked team its a bloody hard fight to overcome this patches balance. This patch has definitely upset the balance in a big way. Its definitely not fun to play at the moment. The bias has definitely taken a hard turn, it dosnt help that there are so many people playing Russia as well. The grind to get the Chally 2E was painful, as I was 90% of the time vs Russian zerg.
Yesterday I decided to go with the flow, I've joined the brainless horde and started grinding out the Pantsir. Less painful to play for the meantime. However, I have to finish spading the 2E at some point...
I will say I do like the improved draw distance and contrails on jets. AA at least has a chance against the latest generation of air. Before the F16's were able to top attack from at the very edge/beyond draw distance making countering them extremely difficult/nigh on impossible when they were in the hands of an experienced pilot.
Yeah I was just playing FlaRakRad so wasn't very effective on the ground, Justin did a great job be we still lost ..

I really do wish for a better display system for CAS like this. Like a better zoom in option, a better system and display of locking onto ground targets and so on.
Edit: I love that I for the longest time had been trying to use my A-10 with the GBU-8 and never understanding why it never really aimed. Heard that you need to be going fast. I thought that meant going like 400 or so. But nah. Need to be going at Mach speed to do it.

Since i saw how you dropped the GBU horizontally, i started to use that approach: your chances of surviving increase but i find it a little more difficult to find targets (if the interface of the TV bombs had Zoom or IR the thing would be much better)
Gaijin recently increased the render distance in GBU gun sight
Spotting the target is like 70% of the job when flying F-16, it is not easy at all.

What did they do to the VT-1? I honestly wouldn’t know as I literally hate playing with SPAAs. I don’t find sitting there the whole match star gazing.
@@Whereismydad114 The VT1 feels very heavy now. It's unreliable at close range and is also horrible to steer at longer distances. The VT1 platforms also have a worse radar than the Pantsir which makes a huge difference. It's much harder to kill Ka50's now. So not only did Russia get the most overpowered SAM - the same patch also nerfed the best NATO missile to allow even more Russian air to absolutely dominate you.
"beam-riding" missile surely got not "changed" because the Russian Helis use them, so would nerf them too.
All saclos missiles got nerfed into the ground
I love the cone when going Mach 1 but I’ve noticed on some planes that cone interrupts the targeting systems. Sometimes I can’t see shit but a cloud😂
I wonder if at some point, by playing since the Russian Bias update, you also had the same relief as I did. The relief of knowing that Russia is finally on YOUR SIDE after 20 matches against it.
That feeling made me realise that the lack of balance & the heavy Russian bias are proofs the Devs are not respecting my time.
So I decided to step away from the game for this major update.

Same here, moving to other games. I had big hopes for japan to get something but boy was i wrong, it was Russia that needed AA badly... Equally broken game as it was when KA-50 came.

As a heli main (25 days in helis or 9k+ matches) I see a lot of unbalanced BS everywhere from spawn points, render limitations, invulnerable revenge spaas for 20 sec, proxyfuses and 100 brownings on every vehicle, ecm-proof stingers. List of complains goes on and on. Half of these difficulties were added in last 2 years. And you know what? I got better. I didn't quit.

you can barely use AGM-65B from low altitude, and a missile target if you went up high. it barely glide and after few second it just flop....
Maverick is the worst missile in the game, I would use Bullpup over Maverick any day.

its pretty sad that Gaijin literally had to nerf the 2S6 (the best SPAA in the game) directly this update in order to make their claim that it is "significantly inferior" true, to then justify the PANTSIR which is just blatantly overpowered. They dont even bother hiding their bias and handhold towards the russian tree anymore.
Its also pretty sad that people still think there is a CAS problem (when there wasnt, SPAA has had the advantage for years) because they decide to either not spawn SPAA and bitch about CAS or they do spawn it and then refuse to do their job properly and realise aircaft can in fact exist ABOVE radar in which you have to LOOK UP. The only "problem" with CAS is when it gets spammed, which on one hand is objectively a skill issue on you and your teams part; and also couldve been simply solved with a hard limit on active aircraft per team.
The nation that already had the best SPAA in the game now has an even better one, and due to that it is very very hard to have air support while facing russia; while on the other hand Russia has complete CAS denial and they dont have to worry about SPAA as much and can then spam and use the best CAS in the game alongside the best SPAA in the game defending them.
CAS only ever works if you allow it to, the second a half competent SPAA is up enemy CAS cant exist unless they're VERY good like hunter. Thats how it has been for years and its even worse now.
Also just an FYI for anyone who thought US had the best CAS at top tier, they dont. They have more ammo yes but the ordnance itself is shit. TV munitions suck, they dont track moving targets when locking beyond 6km unlike laser munitions which only one aircraft in the US tree has and it doesnt have the flight performance to make those bombs work beyond 6-7km either (still within SPAA range). Laser guidance is king when it comes to range which mainly Russia has, it works in all conditions unlike TV ordnance too and is very hard to counter unlike TV ordnance. US CAS is good, im not saying it isnt, but it isnt the best; it can only be the best when there is 0 SPAA (or 0 intelligent SPAA) when you can get within range to have moving target tracking and during the day.
They should un-nerf both the A-10s now.
I don't hate SPAAs at all, I like that WT is combined arms .. to achieve victory there must be some kind of teamwork between battle roles, between tanks, SPAA, helicopters and jets .. the whole update was unnecessary in my opinion .. the battle between CAS and SPAA was ok even with more advantage to 90 spawn points SPAA vehicles that don't need making any effort to be earned, jets pilots are always, always outnumbered .. because to use a jet you need to make 10 times amount of SP than SPAA requires .. and I'm still ok with that.
Right now .. and in the current situation I'm still not very eager to anti radar missiles like a lot of people but I really want MAW for jets that have them in real life, like Harrier GR.7 or F-16, because right now pulling off blindly just because you got paranoid and thought there was a red one pixel is coming after you with no RWR warning, no smoke trail is not really gameplay, it is just luck.
@@Hunter_i86 I agree, I love Warthunder for the aspect that it is in fact a combined arms game. Teamwork (although gaijin time and time again has done nothing but discourage it by nerfing rewards or having 0 rewards) is also very very important to winning. While yes it is POSSIBLE for a single person to change the tide of a game and pull a win, it's rare. Especially if they do it with CAS because if the people on the ground aren't pulling their weight, the guy in CAS can kill as many people as he wants but if no one caps the point it does nothing but make the number on the leaderboard bigger.
I don't hate SPAA either. I do dislike the people who complain about there being a "CAS problem" when there isn't unless you look at the KA-50 and KA-52. There is no CAS problem and there hasn't been for a long time. The only problem with CAS is when it gets spammed, which admittedly shouldn't be possible there should be a limit on how many aircraft can be up at one time per team but at the same time, if CAS is being spammed I try to let people know it is because they and their team LET it happen by not retaliating.
Hunter you are a VERY good CAS pilot and pilot in general, you I'm sure can admit that when there is a COMPETENT SPAA up it makes it a lot harder for you to do your job because you have to focus on it and actively try to outsmart or out gun the SPAA. But when there isn't it is very easy to perform CAS too, especially if when someone does spawn an SPAA they don't pay attention.
I'm not as good as you but I would say I'm still a pretty good CAS pilot (I still have a lot to learn when it comes to fighting other jets though) usually I only take out CAS if I think there isn't SPAA up, and when there is it's very very hard to do my job when the player knows what they're doing.
When it comes to anti radiation missiles I also am not too eager about it. To me it's not needed at all, and plus I see it as just another thing Gaijin will half-ass the implementation of and implement them poorly. On top of that they are extremely easy to counter. Just shut off your radar and move a couple meters and wait for it to miss you while you continue tracking the plane with IRST. It won't be useful like people think it will.

I still hope one day they decide to remove the artificial limits on both the A-10s, they're fun to use when there's no SPAA but when there is, the missing armaments really hurt. There's no reason for the nerfs anymore anyhow. I love my A-10 but I rarely use it because it's so hard to have an opportunity to use it and not be immediately killed. I think it's funny that full rack (or even half rack because they cost the same as 6) of mavericks cost more than a load of 5 Laser guided GBUs on my A-6E when the GBUs are far more reliable and can be used in all conditions. I typically use my A-6E simply because it costs less than the A-10 and yet is way more effective.

The Mavericks AGM can deal with the pantsir but the jets that are equipped with them doesn't have access to a flir pod to aid in targeting from faraway
I hate Maverick, it is slow and explodes in air if a wooden fence or a tent rope got in the way!

@@blank141 pretty much all TV guided ordnance is shit. The only usable A-10 is the tech tree variant with IR mavericks but its also missing all the fun stuff. The premium has the fun stuff but it has the shitty (and incorrectly modeled) TV guided mavericks.
Theyre both literally the same plane, they should be the same BR, have the same armament options, and be able to carry the same amount (4x Aim-9Ls), and both are shit compared to the SU-25s and A-6E. They need to remove the artificial limits and stop artificially limiting aircraft armaments unless it is absolutely necessary, which it isnt in the case of the A-10 (and never was). If they want to justify the A-10 premium just name it after someone or give it a special unique skin and stop with the bullshit.

I guess the pantsir balances out the shitty performance of Soviet CAS planes and at the same time boost's sales of premium packs like the Ka50. I stepped down to 9.7/10.0 BR, no point grinding the F-16 at this time. Bradley, Puma and Wiesel are fun to play.

well I never got lucky to lock any target above 5 km. what an eyes do you have that you lock to the target from 15 km :D ! feel relieved after seen that panstir got hit from its eye :D:D
At these ranges these are not guided bombs at all, only precision strikes .. try to start searching around enemy base then other locations.

Were you using assault fuse for any reason or just forgot to turn it off? Great video as always. Long gone are those days where you wouldn't focus on SPAAs. Pantsir is game changing definetely so CAS is not in a good state at that br. I read that they shot down your GBU-8... Do you think that AGM can improve a little bit this? Smaller, maybe difficult to shoot down. Cheers!
As far as I experienced, missiles like Maverick and PARS can be shot down with SPAA missiles but they are hard to spot, while bombs like Walleye and GBU-8 are easier to spot but can be shot down with guns only, it is a balance thing I guess. I use 1.0 sec fuse on all bombs, TV and laser when they ruined bombs since around 3 months.

@@Wolfm4ster dont worry, Bullpups, mavericks, Laser Guided bombs, literally anything with explosive action is doing fuck all damage alot now. Even just normal dumb bombs, tiny tims, FFAR, etc.

These bombs were more fun, but Gaijin love to arcade things more and more, adding the CCIP reticle that still ON in all times was bullshit in my opinion. Yeah in the time of the video it was just estimating with the right flying parameters.

I even read in Reddit that the damn Pantsir has thermal camo, it is not showing like other targets on TGP thermal screen. Some people said it is a bug with the new thermal.
@@Hunter_i86 It was a bug that caused vehicles to appear cold in thermal view. Supposedly it was fixed in yesterday’s update.

The fact that the game basically spawns you within the range of the missile is ridiculous.
my question is: Does the gbu 8 and gbu15 not track while while they are gliding? I mean the mavericks do but when I try to toss bomb moving targets with the gbu 8 it never tracks and just land where I locked the target when I dropped the bomb.
They are not guided at this range, just precision strike.

I'm still struggling with the life challenges and so I'm not playing WT as much as earlier and when I do, I'm not having a lot of fun at 11.3 after the update, of course, because of balanced Pantsirs. So I'm playing 10.7 only, it's multiple times better. Hope that gaijij realise their fault, but i don't think so. Sorry for a long text.

Everyone including myself wants HARM and SEAD but what people dont understand is SHORAD doesnt care a whole lot about these things(Espically of the russian variety) In real life the radar lock for a tunguska is used for its guns and SA not so much the missiles being fired. The solution would be to have the later gen mavericks added. Later gen mavericks can easily outrange a Tunguska. Later mav's have a known range of above 22km away which is wayyy farther than a tunguska can kill
is there anything that we can do to stop this? there has to be something youtubers and players can do together to stop this bias, gaijin isnt even shameful about it
yes, stop playing for a week at least and see how they respond when the active player numbers falls low. also stop buying premiums at full prices.

I like how they essentially accidentally broke rolands and vt1 sams in the russian bias update. They fixed the reload but vt1 still maneuvers worse than an atgm. Russia top tier is more skewed than ever.

So confused with GBU, how you can target and fly the opposite way and still tracks??? Are GBU fire and forget / auto track after launch?
TV weapons are fire and forget but they are not guided at long ranges, just precision strikes.

I was playing top tier ground sim yesterday spading my pantsir. That shit is not balanced at all. Gaijin needs to nerf the range. 18 KM is bullshit l. CAS can’t even see shit at that range barely. Render distance is inconsistent af. They lied about the mavericks range in game no where near 23 KM. I think it may be time for me to uninstall WT again or I’ll just go grind britain and ignore top tier for now.
I've been playing Battlefield 2042 and having a blast so far, but I dont think I can be trusted flying a helicopter around others...

Are the bombs actually tracking from that sort of range or are the targets just not moving?
They are not guided from that range, it is a precision strike .. but if they get no warning why they move? Also picking the right target is on pilot, like a tank in sniping position or an SPAA on the hunt. Some of the targets in video were captured by the bomb because I was close, like T-80 & T-90 in Alamein desert map for example.

It absolutely annoys the hell out of me that the F16 is always the "beginner" plane in AC as it's easily one of the more dominant aircraft of the modern era.
Yeah it is still one of the best planes but also one of the most common ones,most of the planes which are older than f16 are scrapped even in third world countries
