Remember this takes PRACTICE to get right. I don't believe in tutorials where they're simply telling you numbers to dial into parameters. Feeling around for those sweet spots is a skill! You can not only support an independent creator by buying GUNS FOR THE UNHOLY 4, but you can reverse engineer the patches to understand how it works better!
Thank you for selling sample packs with an intention to reverse engineer instead of advocating drag and drop and these tutorials you’re actually helping producers not just selling crap
Thank you for this tutorial, pretty useful but at the same time this made me think about why the old school guns like Code Pandorum's or Sadhu's ones dissapeared from the scene
Using Image Line’s frequency splitter in patcher, you can essentially create multi pass. it’s not as tidy as having it all in one interface but it saves you $100
@@oddprophetdub in my opinion it’s a matter of knowing how to use patcher effienently. but if you feel comfortable pirating or dropping 100% absolutely how for it!
or put the frequency splitter on the main bass sound in the mixer, now route the outputs from frequency splitter to three separate inserts, then route them back together into a free insert. ofc it takes up a lot of space, but you're not restricted to using patcher (EWWWW) and only kilohearts plugin, and that alone opens up a shitton of possibilities
thank you so much for going straight into the point and not starting the video with "what's up guys jetfuelpowered sounds here we're gonna make basses subscribe hit the bell sacrifice your email to get free samples"
Can also be done in FL patcher, Frequency splitter can split into 3 bands with linear phase (daisy chain another splitter to split those bands too if you need) then just put however many of any ole VST you like on the individual bands.
was already a fan of your music, but seeing how your brain works while producing just makes me respect you even more. i'm also subscribing so i can see more vids like this in the future. kudos on a killer pack, will definitely be trying some of these tricks in my own productions very soon. 🤓
pfft, learned loads just from this 10 min vid. I would like to see more on using multipass to process in the future though, some who hows and whys on why you do x y and z etc would be great!
You can do the same without multipass, using patcher and FL's stock frequency slitter, or any VST that lets you split into bands across parallel processing chains
Insane. Could definitely do this without Multipass but you'd have several mixer channels doing the same thing. I'm tempted to try this in Reaper, it has freqency splitting plugins and multiple audio channels per track.
@@oddprophetdub Interesting that you use FL then. I consider the plugins to be best part of it. The workflow of kilohearts' plugins is much more similar to Ableton or Bitwig than FL.
When every i try to make a gun like this it so loud it destroys the rest of my mix but if i make everything else just as loud it ruins the sounds and if i make the gun quiet it sounds like ass
Thinking about this. You could essentially make a similar thing to Multipass in FL with Patcher. You could just use various Maximus, 1 for bass, 1 mid, and 1 high. Each one will have the other frequencies muted, like the bass one will have mid and high muted, and so on... and if you want to apply an affect to that specific frequency range, just link the right one to the effect you want.
@@oddprophetdub That may be so. But there are some limitations looking at the plugin. To my understanding, you can't put any other effect plugins that are on your DAW. And if you don't really like some of those effects that are integrated, you're kinda stuck with it. I'm actually working on a patcher preset that can do almost the same as Multipass. And maybe add a few new features.
in the unholy 4 pack there is an extra folder with a file that is a "VST patch" file type - what is this? its different from the serum & Multi pass presets?
it's inside the presets folder with convolver, if you don't have convolver I recommend subscribing or buying it! if you have bought or subscribed reinstall or contact kilohearts

I recommend buying it. I have guns 3. Heres a challenge oddprophet. Try making a pack for vital
when you said "this is how I eat food... " I felt that and immediately folded...
I just bought a weeks worth of shopping with your purchase 🛒

this man showed some crazy secrets and made S-TIER tearout guns FROM scratch, no samples in minutes.

I BEEN SAYING IT FOR YEARS. PHASEPLANT IS WHERE IT IS AT MAN!!!
@CrossOver-ih9kxvital is free and that makes is based
But it does not compare to phase plant

How would you best start using that then?:) bit inexperienced with frequency splitting myself :,)
True you can do it this way, but it's incredibly slow and messy way to do it!
@@oddprophetdub in my opinion it’s a matter of knowing how to use patcher effienently. but if you feel comfortable pirating or dropping 100% absolutely how for it!

Thank you for curing my beat block. Picking up the pack asap
Really nice seeing multipass leveraged like this!

and an ableton rack too
So simple but so powerful. I thought you'd make like 20 effects processing chain but there's only a couple
Damn we need more oddprophet tutorials

Ableton doesn't have wave shaper , what else can I use in place of that ?
you can use ableton saturator, or the kilohearts shaper!
Saturator has one, just set to x-shaper, expand IT and there you will have parameters to manipulate it
Gold tutorial. What do you have on your master?
Just a soft clipper! No need to do crazy mastering for dubstep
