    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

    dont get me wrong, i was waiting this entire time for lowrance to catch up knowing it would be a leap in performance we havent yet seen from them, but the fact i have 2 hds carbon 9's at my console and an HDS Live 12 on my bow, with active target (which is getting ripped off and sold today), i STILL need to not only spend 950$ for a module to get what humm and Garmin get without another box in my boat, for no where NEAR the price!! Active Imaging HD = 400$, 3100 Module = over 1,000$ after tax, Active Target 2 to replace my original = 1,600-1,800$. all in all well north of 3,000$ for upgrades which i refuse to do now.. Will be selling both carbons and live and Active target with a 3 in 1 transducer and seperate chirp ducer if anyones interested! Hello Livescope and Garmin for not being greedy assholes on a less than 2 year old Unit! Never owned anything but lowrance but this stone cold ticks me off! #sorryfortherant!

    What is missing is a video on using the "settings/networks" screen to set up HDS unit to the S3100 and AI transducer. Dealing with the "call center"/ product support is not fun and a waste of time. I finally got it done (hit and miss) using Lowrance's very generic video on networking units. I love the Genesis Live feature and I am happy with my unit's higher frequency now.

    Hello, Very interesting vidéo.
    I have a question. On my boat, I have installed a Lowrance HDS 9 Live with a 3 in 1 transducer and recently, I have installed a S3100 module.
    I would like to know which is the best transducer to install to get cleanest image and the maximum details ?
    Following what I have seen on your video, I think that the best transducer is actually the 000-16061-001 Active imaging HD 3 in 1 Fishreveal HW. Is it correct ?
    Thanks in advance for your advice and best regards.

    I understand in order to get the sidescan fish reveal option, you need the S3100 module, whether you have the Pro or Live. Couldn’t you save money and get this option by just getting the Live and pairing the HD3-1 transducer/S3100 module combo instead of the Pro with the same thing? Thanks!

    Great video! How does the Active Imaging HD and 3-in-1 compare to the Garmin GT56? I’m considering between the new UHD2 93sv (with GT56) and a reduced price HDS Live 9 (with Active Imaging 3-in-1). The UHD2 is new, but the HDS Live is a higher tier (e.g. better resolution) but older (older transducer). Thanks!!

    So am I reading this right, that if you have a HSD Carbon or HDS Live and don't want Fish reveal but you want better side scan/downscan with the AIHD ducers, you can connected the AIHD 3-1 directly to your units and you don't need the new S3100 network module?

    • @jeisonhansson
      @jeisonhansson Год назад +1

      Nope. If you wan to use the new AIHD 3-in-1 on an Elite fs, HDS live or HDS carbon you will need the S3100 box. With the HDS pro you will still need it to get the sidescan fish reveal, but not the new Mhz range on the side and downscan.

    I have Carbon units...currently with a SS 3d Transducer. I was going to replace that with a S3100 & AI HD Med/HighTransducer. I was also planning to combine that with the Airmar TM165HW. The Airmar would give me the High & Wide. I was thinking the Airmar would be a better 2D transducer. Can I use the Airmar transducer for fish reveal? Is this a good combination? What are your thoughts?

      If you are shallower than 100' the HW would be best. If you are deeper than the MW would be best. They don't list a max depth for either from what I can see.

    I just purchased a HDS 9 Live unit with 3 in 1 transducer for the console on my bass boat. I plan on linking via ethernet with two HDS 9 gen3 units one at console and bow. Will they link and share information from the 3 in 1 transducer. I don"t expect the same detailed images on the Gen 3 units just want to be able to get the same quality as the Gen 3's originally have. I was told they would link with no problem. Thank You

I'm not interested in livescope or similar technology that uses an added transducer. What brand/model would give me best bang without plans to "add" livescope? May i ask how lowrance have been in the lead to begin with? Bit of a bold statement considering the level of detail you get with a Humminbird unit or Garmin running the GT54 or GT56 transducer trumps that of the Lowrance units in shallow water applications due to the higher frequencies.

    • @InDepthSonar
      @InDepthSonar  Год назад +2

      I think the only way Lowrance leads is with GPS and UI.

    • @jeisonhansson
      @jeisonhansson Год назад +1

      What are you going on about? Lowerance doesn't lead anything, and with the new screens for the new insane prices they still won't. Even the GPS is far superior on Garmin. The only thing it does better is the UI, mostly for the people that want to plug and play. For the more advanced users I would say that their settings and UI are a bit too simple. Can you please tell what you think makes them ahead of the competition? They are for example almost 8 years late with Mhz sidescan.

    • @InDepthSonar
      @InDepthSonar  Год назад +1

      Well one thing for sure they are the leader right now in a dual Live Sonar setup. Regardless of the cost they have Garmin beat here for sure. But Garmin is only a software update away from taking that spot again
