- The full Episode 431 of The Dr. Jordan B. Peterson Podcast can be found here: • Eternal Truth and the ... . This clip focuses on the conversation they had about work as the highest form of play.
Dr. Peterson asks us to imagine a form of work that allows us to not sacrifice the present to the future, but to align it perfectly? That form of work would be signaled by the emergence of the spirit of play.
The Kingdom of God is the garden in which mankind can eternally play, and that play would be the highest form of play. It would be like a piece of music that gets better as it unfolds, like an upward-moving spiral where everything is already as good as you can imagine it, but it's getting better. - Животные
JJ Is on the longest journey from the head to the heart
An old Eastern Orthodox Christian saying is that "you more you know God, the more you love Him, and the more you love Him the more he reveals Himself to you." Therefore heaven in experience of you learning more and more about God and at each stage loving Him more and more. One long eternal positive cycle, in which you can't exhaust the goodness of God.
Mass is celebrating the greatest gift of all.
This is a brilliant move by Bishop Barron - Peterson is such a brilliant man, and I'm not sure that he really wants to believe, but Bishop Barron is allowing Peterson to verbally reason all of this out vocally more to HIMSELF than to anyone else.
Peterson's own vocal reasoning here is doing all the work to convince him of the truth of all of this.
You can't convince truly brilliant people of invisible mysterious truths - they must study and journey on their own, they must reason it all out to themselves, thus no matter if they want to or not, they will eventually confess the undeniable truth to themselves.
John Henry Cardinal Newman ABSOLUTELY wanted no part in the Catholic faith.
But the more studying he did, the deeper his dive into the writings of the Church fathers convinced him beyond any shadow of a doubt that Catholicism was the ultimate truth, and thus no matter the price, he had to convert.
Lol, Peterson has already had a spiritual enlightenment years ago..he already knows the truth beyond religion.
Well said.
They say that the more you know God, the more you love Him and the move your love Him the more you know God
He is almost there ❤❤❤❤ he knows Truth when he hears it, but go ahead, think he, who is so intelligent, is wrong, if that makes you feel better about your life😞I love listening to extremely intelligent people finding the logical Truth of God😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
The words don't deliver the truth, they only point to it is what the spiritual people have said..if one thinks that the word do deliver, then all they are left with is an idea.
On this.. Jordan should've allowed the bishop to speak more on this
Two thoughts: a) I always want to hear Jordan Petersons take on things, but I really want hear Bishop Barron's too. b) Jordan's enthusiasm for the topic as almost childlike. he comes across as a precocious child who can't shut up, which is charming even while being annoying.
@@phiggins5207exactly charming AND annoying
He always talks the most, the guy just rambles.
It is amazing how close he is to the Catholic Church. witthout being received into her.
Peterson is a WILLIy WONKa
Love it when JP’s brilliant mind spills out like this, it is a great rite of passage that leads him to his final humility at the foot of the cross. His journey there will by accompanied by countless others who find the cross difficult to accept until they recognize the incomprehensible mind of God and that JP hasn’t even reached the the bottom rung of the spiral they speak of. Bishop Barron can simply watch and listen with joy as it unfolds. The Spirit is moving in both of these men, I’m grateful that we can witness this unfold and translate meaning to our own lives.
I was greatly looking forward to the Bishop's response but it never came...
Maybe that's what happens when you are looking for the truth
Is it really strange that people become religious?
Truth seeking is beyond religion..one doesn't need the ideas and dogma
Spiritual people (of no religion) have been saying this for ages
Because God created neuroscience... Hello!!!
He won't be able to stay away for long! ... not if he's really aiming at the highest good 😅 (but maybe we shouldn't celebrate too soon, a little sacrifice may be required still... we're coming for you Mr. Peterson. Love, All the real Catholics)
Have to laugh imagining what BB s really thinking with JP at his most infuriatingly florid brilliance
thanks for this second 'Cutup'. Sensible to avoid the first 25 minutes where IMO they were talking across each other. Still I've dived in where angels fear ... ruclips.net/video/97be48vkat4/видео.html&lc=UgxpeYzwJ3iwXE9oyxl4AaABAg

NOOOOOOOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,DOnt be Pontius
Pope Pius V
He has gone all religious
He's always been religious
You speak in religious terms way more than you realize when you talk about right/wrong, good and evil. Or when you assign value to anything, which do you do almost every second of every day.
Jordan please stop the verbalism fuelled by your intellect, surrender and embrace the reality of God with your heart I.e. spirit. Peace and Rest will follow for you as sure as the day follows the night. In the meantime thank you for helping so many reach that door (Jesus) through which we ALL must pass. Be it during this life, or at its conclusion with much regret and anguish of taking God's name (I AM) in vain. Thank God for Eastern Orthodox APOKATASTASIS, an understanding of God's infinite love and mercy, never relinquished (unlike Evangelical Protestantism) since the very beginning of the church era.
I respect JP but sometimes JP seems like a caricature of himself.
What exactly do you mean?
@@Regan4491 He has a distinctive vocal tone and style of speech. There have arisen some comics who have done impressions of him which were very on point. Sometimes Peterson's distinctive vocal tone and style of speech is particularly marked, strong or noticeable, that is when I consider him to seem like a caricature of himself.
I think JP has been listening to himself for too long
Not me. I love listening to him.
Anything worthwhile is worth digging for. I understood much more the second time around.
Lol
I think he’s eloquent in his speech.
