My 2005 mustang has 299,000 miles on it I’m so excited to see that this car has over 400,000 miles because I’ve had my car 17 years and I still love driving it each and everyday
My dad still has the spacers he bought for his 97 gt like probably close to 20 years ago. He never installed them since the car mostly sat in the garage as more of a cruiser and not a daily used car. He sold his about 12 years ago and now I am in the works to buy my own sn95 probably 94-95 gt or cobra.
Looks good! You can probably get springs for less than $200, but I also understand this being an ultra budget build lol
Replace the plug wires 1 by 1 after you replace the coils, you can also use the old clips and tuck the wires better to clean up your engine bay…
Just watched your video, that's literally the 1st mod I did to my 95 Cobra last year, couldn't stand that tucked rear wheel. Did not drive till the spacers arrived, lol.
YES PLEASE, do a video on your quick jacks, I'm seriously considering buying them.
You can find a nice staggered wheel and tire set up used online for a decent price..these rear wheel wells are made for big rear tires…I have some videos concerning lowering and tire sizes, different questions that I had before I lowered my car, if you’d like to check them out…
I did the spacer on my 95 GTS and though it looked better I’m not a fan of spacers. The best thing to do is find an 8.8 out of a 99-04 to gain 3/4” on each side without a spacer. Added benefit is you can install gears easier while the rear is out because 3.08 gears just don’t cut it. I have a 95 Cobra now and want to keep the factory wheels, after some searching I lucked out and found one out of an 04 Mach 1 and killed 2 birds with one stone, it’s wider and has factory 3.55’s. If you already have gears and don’t want to keep the factory rims get a staggered kit from American Muscle, LMR, etc… that’s what I did for my sons 95 GT, looks real good with 10” wide rims tucked nicely in the back.
This looks so much better! I've never been a fan of this body style, but man does this look good.

Funny you ran into 2 vintage Tbirds. The 1st one is 64 - 66 and the 2nd one in the end is a 67. Looks like you got some cool car guys in your town.
I wouldn’t cut the stock spring. You would be messing with the ride quality. I would get a nice brand name lowering spring kit and beef up the struts.
Wouldn't you need to cut the original bolts a little bit so they wont stick out thru the spacers? Im curious about that part.

Soo, with those spacer the lugs stick thru, meaning the wheels arent flat against the spacer but they are against the End of your factory lugs. You need to 1. Trim your stock studs OR
2. Get 1.5 spacers so your factory studs/lugs dont stick thru the spacer.

I bought 1 spacers for my 01 and I watched this video and never noticed that that the studs stick out, luckily when I installed I caught it and didn’t install them like that
@@davidaveryrousey285Some aftermarket wheels actually have little relief pockets and it wont interfere. Not sure if his does or not.

99-04 gt rearend is 3/4 inches longer on either end and direct bolt in.

It’s a Quickjack lift. I didn’t get mine at Costco but I’ve heard that they do sell them there periodically.
@Reynolds Rides. You really should address the unanswered questions about the factory wheel studs protruding thru the 1" spacers ... Did the OEM Cobra wheels have space for the excess stud length? If not, someone could get seriously injured should the inside wheel mounting face not be flush with the spacer. At 3:33 in the video looks like there is at least 1/2" in excess length to account for.
Did you have any problems with the stock studs sticking out, I noticed you didn’t cut them, which means the wheels are not sitting flush on the spacer. I bought the same ones for my 01 and I’m wondering if it is safe to do so

The set I bought they said don’t use an impact to install and do use thread lock.
Does the back of the wheel have recesses for the studs? They stick through the spacer!
Any recommendations for a 275/40 R17 tire with original 03 SVT cobra wheels? Want it to sit close or fully flush with wheel well.
Aren't those wheel nuts that came with the spacer suppose to be on the spacers' lugs instead of the ones on the car's rotor?
Just change the rims..i have 95 cobra i bought new. The first thing that went was those ugly stock rims..to thin 8 wide..i got 9 inches on the front and 10/5 inches out back for those big wheel wells
I'd do a staggered setup. And wouldn't cut the stock springs
Leave the springs alone all together or get aftermarket springs?
@@ReynoldsRides Aftermarket is the way to go if you want that low look. And it'll be safer.
The cost of coilovers fuckin sucks, but how reliable is cutting the springs? I've wanted to drop my golf a little bit but I don't have the balls to cut my springs. I like the result of the spacers by the way. When I was younger I wasn't a huge fan of the sn95 but I'm beginning to love them, they've got a nice unique look to them and it's really fuckin grown on me.
Where did you get the lifts you’re using to hack the car up
Ps- you’re supposed to cut the ends of the old wheel studs so that that don’t protrude past the spacer. Your wheel is contacting the hub only at the ends of those studs. Disaster waiting to happen

Don’t remember if the Cobra rims are the same as my factory 95 GTS rims but those had a void between the holes so the studs just sat in the open space and caused no interference with the mating surface of the rim and disc.
