THE Yuji Nishida is really back. He's been very consistent since the beginning of this year's VNL. It's good to see him back in his best form. I hope Miyaura gets more chances to play as well tho. He filled in Yuji's shoes really well when Yuji was in a slump last year.

Will never get tired of saying this, but Canada bounces back so well, at least from what I’ve seen in this game. Although Eshenko got subbed out in the later game due to injury, Mccarthy was a great sub. He even got the last point. Canada was great in their blocking which Japan has to work on to. And I agree, Japan’s game that night was not sturdy, they weren’t in their game as evident in their few execution of well known combi plays. Nevertheless, they managed to let it reach to the 5th set. So it was a great game regardless🎉

Japan wasn't connecting as well as they usually do. Canada this year will be a factor
in Olympics. Marr, Leopkky, Swartz are all doing so well in Italian pro leagues and that
    means a lot of practices.
Ishikawa and Ran haven't been integrating themselves back in rhythm of national team

    go off rhythm.

Japan wasn’t playing their best for this one and I can see it.
Ishikawa is losing his consistency in all honesty 😭 I love him but I noticed that he’s being blocked several times, even in past matches or the ball just goes out.
As for Ran, he did his best to keep the team floating but struggled on defense.
Nishida’s spikes were amazing though, him and Maar shined throughout the match.
Overall, Japan had a big struggle on defense, because Canada’s hits are really heavy esp with the trio’s fireballs, Lui did really good saving every ball Japan threw at Canada. I love team Canada as well which is why I’m really proud but I hope to see Japan bounce back 🫶

i like canadas strategy, their rotation targeted japans weakest blockers with canadas strongest and tallest hitters. Most teams have put their tallest hitters against japans tallest blockers to challenge and call out the undersized team but sometimes a simple game plan where you hammer down the areas of their weaknesses and play a consistent game ends in your favor. Japan seemed to try new rotations to counter it but canada accounted for this and sekita kept getting targeted anyway and canada did a great job of keeping japan out of system. When your setter is undersized it makes it harder to keep your teams offense in system bc he will be targeted. Tall opponents versus their tallest hitters usually relieves the pressure off sekita who can hang back and take ona defensive recieve specialist roll but when theyre purposely putting tall players against you when youre up front sekita has no choice but to jump and hope somone else can do the emergency set competently

    • @DoNothingCrazy

A lot of balls that they could've dig 🤔 hopefully they have a plan on playing against taller & stronger team cause whatever works for them before didnt work quite well these days 💪🏻 all the best!

When there were good plays by Japan, I also cheered for them. It’s too bad the majority of the crowd wasn’t there for good volleyball but only for their “biases or idols” 😅

He really got to work on his serve man! He float serves and half his serves or more going into the net consistently. He is the guy on the team that “not supposed” destroy serves. Just aim at the guy and put the serve there. Guys like Run, ishikawa and Nishida CAN do error bc they take a Risk of scoring the ace. But Onodera? Dam he drives me crazy with those weak ass serves into the net.
