Hi Sparky. You just found so much wildlife. The grey owl was really amazing. The pine forest looks like a great place for birding. Greets Stefan

I’ve spent a lot of time down the tomahawk, went to school in Ely. I’ve only ever seen 3 Great Greys there. This past September I got to see a momma lynx and her 4 kits! I had my camera thank goodness!

I am so jealous of your Lynx family sighting Ellie! Are your Lynx photos online somewhere? I’ve only ever seen 2 Lynx …one was at night off the Gunflint and the other was along the Sawbill (made a RUclips video about that encounter).

@@SparkyStensaas No I don’t have them posted, but I definitely can! I was not planning on seeing anything so the settings on my camera were all messed up

Funny because I just finished a book about the guy who set the North American big year record for a birds seen on a bike. He he made one continuous 6000 mile loop. I biked 5 miles that day!

Good thing for the hood on that lens or you would have scratched the heck out of it on those branches you raked it thru.

It’s funny, because I normally don’t use the lens hood in winter since it traps warm air when I get in and out of the van. I don’t treat my equipment very well and in fact, I often use the cupholders in my van to hold lenses. Not good, but that’s how I am.
