Watch out for the big bad wolf

    • @littlegriffoffgridalberta6837
      @littlegriffoffgridalberta6837  13 дней назад

They won't bother you unless you run ! I've had more than one stare down at 50 yards , They don't like peoples voices or hand claps, Always see then when you don't have a gun, I hate packing when I'm out getting wood to easy to bang it around but do pack a 22 sometimes,

@littlegriffoffgridalberta6837 sounds like our coyotes. They will come all around me at night at the cabin, but when I beat on the cast iron pan, they get quiet.

Just catching up, I like the trails you drive, the wolf pack was sure leaving some nice prints for tracking, ganging up on the big game I see. I like the tamarack, we had them back east more with the black spruce wet lands, since we had no cedar, I liked using the full tree for skids to make a bridge over the creek on the woodlot, they lasted a long long time. Enjoyed watching, thank you for sharing

Yes the Tamarack is a great tree to use for anything and we have a lot of them in this area, Thanks for the comment!

I've watched some of Noel's videos because I like old garden tractors. Like you, he benefits from the usefulness of older machines. I too find them to be very capable tools. They have their place, limits but get the work done. As you've stated, the low gearing in your skidoo is specific to your needs and is a prime example of the point I'm making.

    • @littlegriffoffgridalberta6837

Yes just having the time to putter on those things, they might be old but very useful that's why we keep them around :)) Noel has some cool projects there ! Glad you enjoyed "

Glad you liked it! It's hard to beat the feel of fresh air, even when it's cold in the woods it's just a different felling ! I cut wood in the open on calm sunny day & stay sheltered from the winds in the thick, it's great other than the odd lump of snow that goes down your neck once in a while, I'm never much for hoods they just block my view & my hearing if trees are cracking things like that, Hopefully you get a chance to check out some of the differences last year to this ! Thanks for the comment"

As I learn each year gets a little easier :) Thanks for the comment I'm sure you will enjoy some of my others ! Have an awesome evening"

👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks Don for the shout out. 👍🏻👍🏻
Ya, big wolf paws, seen tracks like that here once. Was half the length of my boot and the same width. But no wolves here, so must of been a coyote. And it must of been running. Quite a space in between paw jumps.
Looks like a nice day there for sure.
Tundra looks like it’s working great. Thank for the explaination on different types of snowmobiles good for the bush. 👍🏻
Must not be any snowmobile police there, ya went right thru the Stop sign. 🤭🤭🤭🤭. But ya did slow down. 🤭

We had a bush quarter with 40 acres open on it along a creek. We took a lot of tamarack of there. That's where the bombardier shined.
We would bring a couple of them or pull in a trailer and buck up half a dozen cords. Plus made a few fence posts. Snow wasn't a problem.

Hi Don! You guys call it tamarack , we call it juniper. lol. A few snares for those wolves would be on my list of things to do. Anything to try and help the moose. You don’t have elk in that part of Alberta? On my bucket list is I want to be in a spot when I wake up in the morning , I’d be hearing the elk while drinking my morning coffee.

If it was my trapline i would have snares out but not my line, It is only legal for me to shoot if i see them but not trap, Yes we are starting to have more Elk in the area the last few years :) Elk love the river hills & I'm not close to the rivers here the nearest 5 miles away, I did see a couple last fall not far from my hunting spot :) Maybe there will be more in a couple yeas ! Have a great afternoon"
