The S905X4-K was released in 2022, a year after the original. It seems to support some additional video coding options and BT 5 with some minor tweaks here and there. Running in 32 bit mode is an absolute no no for me. But when I look at the price, there are many better options that can do more too. X86 N100 would offer way more value and flexibility. If all that you need is an officially licenced Android box for media playback, you can pay much less to get what you want.
Nice review! Does this box have any type of upscaling? Also I think i read somewhere that Kodi has Dolby Vision now on specific devices and the G2 is one of them.
When you say Dolby Vision isn't supported on self-hosted content, do you mean files hosted on my Jellyfin server on my local network? I heard ATV 12 has introduced a lot of bugs. What has been your experience? My 2019 Phillips TV with Android TV 11 is a suttery mess and am looking for a dedicated box.
What I mean is that if you have Dolby Vision videos stored on external storage such as flash drives and external hard drives, when you play them on the box using a media player the Dolby vision feature does not trigger. This is a feature that's works really well on recent models such as S928X boxes. Yes the same thing will happen with files hosted on servers. It will not trigger the Dolby Vision feature. Only from services such as Netflix.
Thanks kodi..lol..a substitute play store can solve the limited store issue...linking its pros .some of the cons for me are not problematic..still think the price is to high..thanks nick...😁😁😁👍👍👍
Yea this one will have a lot of people on the fence about the price. As for the box it's pretty decent. Homatics did a better job with their firmware than this one. Thanks for watching.💯
@@tvboxstop The G2 is listed on CE supported devices and it uses the same dtb.img file as Homatics R 4K plus. But anyway, a great review as always can be expected from your side.
You experience this during regular streaming, or doing another activity? During my testing on benchmarking I did not notice any stutters related to overheating. It could be that I did not use it long enough. Maybe a couple of hours of continuous usage would of showed a different result. Thanks for sharing.
Unfortuntly the box is plaqued by terriable firmware (ATV 12 6853). I would avoid if you can at this time. It's the same as Homatics Box R 4k Plus. With current firmware sd-card is disabled any many other bugs and problems. The firmware is beta
This box is not that new , I bought this last year, very nice Android box , picture quality is same as Nvidia shield, iam so happy with the device, is little expensive but is totally worth it, Thanks for review Nick
If you are looking for a Google Certified Android TV box this one gets the job done with Dolby vision 💯- amzn.to/3BakFN3
Another great reveiw 😊
Thanks again!

Can you please, check if DV playback clips works on Coreelec OS - the NE version.
I don't think Coerelec is available for this modified chipset

Seni ağırlamak her zaman bir zevktir. Güvende ol
what about local streaming via free plex server?
does dolby vision + true hd work in this case?
Sorry I can't give you specifics on the Plex server as I don't use that service.
Usb C port a Homatics DVB-2T Tuner helye
Köszönöm, nem tudtam, hogy van Homatics DVB-2T tunerük
I can download apple music in this box....?
No you cannot even play the format. That would be more suited to an Apple TV device
nice💯
Thanks 💯
This has overheating issues which causes stutters.

@@tvboxstop It is a great box when the bugs are figured out. I have it along with the Dune-HD
Hello, i become the box tomorrow and test ist.
Thanks for Info.
I bought the box specifically because of the USB 3.0 and the available SD card space.
I think these boxes are going for $69? The guy at the flea market around here sells them and others out of his old beat up white van.
I see. Thanks for sharing
Lol
s905x5 devices are going to start hitting the market soon, this G2 is outdated.

£130 wow!!!! Too expensive for what it is.
Yea the price seems to be talking point on this one. Thanks for watching
