Well after I released my findings to the sponsor he immediately said he was going to contact Skyworth digital for a firmware update. Whether he will be successful in getting them quickly is another issue as they are all developed by the manufacturer in China, and the firmware may also have to pass inspection under the Google certification. Firmware updates can be released quickly, but when it comes to Google certification there are some red tapes.
No Google certification is very stringent. The seller has been trying to launch this box for almost a year and because of red tape to get the Google certification he could not. Down to the remote has to be inspected.
Onn is a little better but not much. They both come up a little short but the Google assistant voice control alone is worth the money if you use it. Otherwise better ones will probably come along for just TV.

To Yes my sponsor he's the best and very supportive. To set up Kodi to output surround sound audio, follow the following steps. 1. Open the settings area using Netgear is icon at the top and navigate to system settings. 2. Using your direction pad and okay button navigate to the bottom left corner and keep on clicking on standard until it changes to expert 3. Once it is on expert scroll up to the audio settings and under audio channels set it to 5.1, 7.1 or 7.2 depending on your speaker configuration 4. On that same audio settings page scroll down until you see audio passthrough and enable it. 5. Once you enable audio passthrough enable all Dolby and DTS options below it Once you have completed the steps you are ready output surround sound audio. Simply connect your external storage or under the videos tab on Kodi main screen and browse to your folder containing your video files. If there is anything you do not understand let me know.

Well the new Google TV as recently launched this week so I can see for sure how good it is. However is a different of the better than the onn

Lesser box ( 2G ram instead of 3) and more expensive then Onn 4K 2024 which is also not optimal either.
