    For me, the two physically strongest boxers and boxers of all time and that by nature are Sonny Liston and George Foreman, unfortunately Sonny just let himself go in the second fight against Ali, a shame. Foreman showed in the 1976 fight against Ron Lyle that he also has heart and can take inhuman punishment. When he came back in the 90 ' no boxer had the power to knock Foreman down that chin was part of his cover , his punches coming so slow and ponderous for action , the heaviest hands ever . Had he had such nice smooth shots like Earnie Shavers who knows who knows. So for this reason Big George Foreman

    Earnie Shavers is the hardest hitter of all time. Testimonies by Ali, Norton, Lyle and Cobb all point out that they hit the hardest. Of course they might say this for fame and sorts. But Shavers knocked Lyle down with a hook in the third round, Foreman knocked Lyle down in the fourth but because he was more skilled. Foreman finished the job. Ali fought Liston but Liston only connected with a few jabs and hooks and just swung at air. Foreman mostly targeted at Ali’s body and had most of his head-punches dispelled. Shavers landed a massive overhand right on Ali that had him running around the ring. So Ali saying that he was the hardest puncher HE ever faced is true and utmost. But of course. Shavers couldn’t finish the job.
    And consider this. Wilder definitely hits hard. And has a 42 KO’s out of his 43 wins. But Shavers has 70 KO’s out of his 76 wins. That’s unbelievable. And you factor in Wilder has speed, Liston has skills and Foreman too with his amazing chin as well. You begin to wonder what Shavers has. Maybe good boxing fundamentals, is it size or is it heart? But whatever the case. He wasn’t as fast and athletic as Wilder, he wasn’t tough and skilled like Liston and Foreman. And yet, because of his crazy power. He won 76 out of his 91 bouts. And you know what’s scary?
    Unlike Wilder, most of Shaver’s knockouts and TKO’s aren’t even recorded. We literally only have a handful of footages, most of it losses and some wins. Just like Robinson in his prime, we could’ve watched murder after murder, seizures and unconscious bodies. But because of his lack of fame and most of it going to Ali and a few others. All of his wins aren’t even recorded. So unless somebody’s grandpa is a diehard Shavers fan who carries a camera to record his bouts. It’s not likely that most, if not all of Shavers KOs wouldn’t even surface. So that’s just my take.

    Those who fought Liston and Foreman, said Liston hit harder. Ali wbo faced all of them, said the strongest is Shavers...so it goes In order
    Shavers
    Liston
    Foreman
    Foreman had the power to knock you off your feet and strength but the other two were more scientific and would cause worse damage.
    Liston and Foreman had granite chins, and were better all round boxers than Shavers.
    Shavers could take a punch better than given credit for or he wouldn't of gone many rounds with top fighters.

So maybe before stating such a bold statement you should do some research. Also I didn’t even know that much about Marciano until I watched a documentary a few days ago so you can’t claim I’m a “fanboy” of his, and that also proves that even with the slightest amount of research, you would see why your statement is incorrect. @@Dempsey1873 Show me where Ali said that. Also Ali said the Frazier hit harder that Foreman. If you watch the rumble you can see that Foreman didn't really land a clean full power head shot on ali and he was out of gas and power by the 4th. Also Wepner said no one hit me like that. He was a bloody mess and a tko loss. Foreman banged him out quickly. Sometimes the person in the ring just doesn't get hit by a guys full power or doest remember the ko. Have you ever been knocked out in a boxing match? You don't remember anything 20 seconds before or after the punch that knocks you out and you certainly don't remember the force of the shot. Quarry never said Shavers hit the hardest. Ali never mentioned Lyle in his top punchers list.

    • @because1037
      @because1037 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@FirstLast-vl1uy You're basing it off the style of the fighter rather than the fighter themselves. Liston couldn't really land a clean headshot on Ali, nor was Liston a slugger like those mentioned. Sonny Liston threw his punches with good technique and never really let loose in the way George did even when you look at footage of both on the heavy bag Sonny just doesn't try and put all his power on display like George. What have Foreman, Ali and others said that takes him off this list? Everything that's been said about Sonny power wise has praised him and put him on the level of Foreman and Shavers. Liston knocked out all of Wayne Bethea's teeth out in the first round. The stories about Liston alone demonstrate phenomenal punching power and his performances in the ring say no different.

      @FirstLast-vl1uy Год назад +3

      Some people cannot see the difference between raw power and power combined with speed and accuracy. Tyson was NOT one of the hardest one punch hitters and neither was Liston. Yes both hit insanely hard but there are many levels and different types of power.
      Tyson had snap + speed power and extremely high accuracy that created the illusion that he hit harder than he did. Liston had more raw weight and strength power and over all hit significantly harder than Tyson.
      When I'm explaining this to non combatants I like to use the analogy of bullet ballistics. A 45 is a large slow moving round with less penetration. It typically has more stopping power and does more direct surface damage and it does wider damage. A 357 magnum is smaller and much faster and does more internal damage. They are actually almost identical in overall effectiveness yet by different means.
      Tyson would of course be the 357 and Liston the 45. You can make the same analogy with Frazier - Foreman.
      Then one must add all the other attributes. Tyson had the greatest combination of power , speed , and accuracy in the history of the heavyweight division. He did not have one of the hardest single punches in history. Not even in the top ten. His other strong attributes even this out. Very few of the top fighters Tyson fought listed him as the hardest puncher they fought.
      It's also interesting and should be noted that Tyson avoided every single dangerous one punch power hitter his entire career with the exception of Ruddock meanwhile Liston destroyed Cleveland Williams who was listed by both Ali and Foreman as one of the hardest single punchers they were ever hit by
