- Ahead of the findings of the Infected Blood Inquiry, one family say they are hoping for closure after "years of cover-ups and lies".
Peter Lloyd, who was a chief technician in the RAF, developed bowel and liver cancer after being given contaminated blood in a transfusion in 1985.

I had a friend whose mum was a Jehovahs Witness. She refused a blood transfusion in Stafford Hospital. The medical staff came in the middle of the night and forced a blood transfusion through her foot. She died. This was in the 70s. I used to live near Zurich and watched an operation on a young female with a deformed spine. They put hooks in her spine and threaded a wire through them. They straightened her spine by tensioning the wire. She has been living a normal happy life since. Good blood management was used without any blood transfusion. There are two hospitals in the UK that don't use blood transfusions which use a much safer method. Even before this terrible disaster and awful suffering in this video there have been many cases of people being treated for serious problems through blood transfusions that the media keep quiet about. There are many cases of individuals recovering faster without a blood transfusion. The medical field is carrying out pioneering work in the field of none blood transfusions and have discovered a much better treatment.
Not all serious problems need a blood transfusion. This is only given for patients with massive blood loss that could lead to shock and multi organ failure. Several decades ago, blood screenings were not very effective indeed, many people were aware of this, but in a life and death situation, some people choose the uncertainty of the safety of the donated bloods for life threatening cases, over instant death caused by unstoppable massive bleeding.
We thank God for justice! After all these years.
And it's in the government's interests to take as long as possible... That's always their plan

A long long way from anything remotely like justice, but a grudgingly given very belated admission that very very many wrongs has been done to a very large number of people and their families.
