This race was the last time the NASCAR Cup Series used Restrictor Plates. After this race, all super speedways had to be run with Tapered Spacers, slowing the cars down even more.
I don't know if anyone from nascar/who runs the classic content will read this and see this feedback but: Any reason why some races are omitted from the classics website? Like specific ones like the 2001 Daytona 500? I get that race had a driver casualty in the end but it was a historic and landmark race nonetheless. For the first time a team (8, 15. and 3) did team drafting which still echos today at Superspeedways and what happen on the final turn on the last lap changed the direction of nascar safety forever. Seeing that opposite emotion of Waltrip in victory lane unaware and Schrader in turn 4. Its like skipping a whole chapter in a move only for new viewers to end up at 2001 Rockingham then 2001 Atlanta wondering why there is a 29 white car and thenDale Jr, and Waltrip are celebrating to much at the 2001 Pepsi 400 later that year but Sr. is all of the sudden gone. Sure I get it, I've seen the race a billion times and that final corner (most of us have) and watched way back then in 2001 and you can find the race on unofficial places. However not all new fans may know or wonder if that year there was no Daytona 500 if they went through all the race events. Maybe for the touchy races with sensitive content include a disclaimer at the beginning. I don't feel any content should be cut or censored though, fans should be aware racing is a dangerous sport and even with all the safety we have today it still can be dangerous (Newman at Daytona a few years ago).
Enjoyed!!! 🏁🏁

I think they are on the nascar channel to pump views
AFAIK races with driver fatalities aren't getting uploaded to the website
U thinking 01 was way back? Ok i been watching since 80’s they have left tons of them out.
My first ever NASCAR Race
This was the race that made me a Denny Hamlin fan
That's awesome. That was one of the best Daytona 500 races ever
Same
literally felt the same way
If I'm thinking championship win ... I'll take second every race while the other three take turns getting 1st and trading 3rd and 4th.
