Because they know themselves well and translate it into their music well, unlike alot of artists nowadays, which makes them great
9 years ago, when I heard this song and discovered the band, it became my favorite song of my favorite band. Now it's no longer my favorite switchfoot song, but they'll always be my favorite band. Until I die I'll sing these songs.

Its amazing how a band can have great riffs but really meaningful lyrics to.
Sometimes there are songs that say the things you feel better than you know how to yourself. This is the best example I know of.

What is more "Christian" than honesty? What is more "Christian" than seeking to be truly human as God made us to be? I applaud Switchfoot, Jars of Clay and many other bands who step out from the imposed label that is unbiblical.
I had a pastor who used to say to me as we drove past the Christian Book Store, "There is no such thing as a Christian Book Store." I would laugh as say, "Well we just drove past one." He then would say, " books let alone a book store cannot accept or believe in Jesus, only humans can become Christian." I believe him to be a wise man.

These guys have been such a blessing to me. I get stronger each time I listen to them. I feel closer to God, to my family, and to my friends, whenever I hear their music and gain a little bit of their wisdom. -From a crooked soul trying to stay up straight.
I love this song and find their music so inspirational, especially good to show to clients sitting on the fence, deciding if they want to quit drugs/alcohol. I really love 'This is Your Life' video that some film students made.

I was a fan from the beginning but after seeing them in concert a few days ago I am obsessed! =D I love how they just pour their souls out for their Lord and the result is reviving.

Saw them in Yokosuka, Japan, on the base. Only 300 people in the theater that held 600! We were up against the stage. Their show was AMAZING!! The lead singer, John, came down across the floor and stood on/walked across the front row of empty seats (everyone was standing). He didn't miss a single note! We met them afterward and they were all really great guys. Oh, yeah, and thanks to the American military, IT WAS A FREE SHOW!!! Such a blessing to this American missionary family!!!

I Love the fact that they have a message in every song. And people who have never read the Bible don't know how to discern or read between the lines, What it's really being said. But even though they don't say God's name they believe in him and they are worshiping even when people don't think they are. That's the beauty about being a Christian we worship God in everything we do even when you can't see the meaning behind the action.

Switchfoot didn't start out as a Christian band, but they are now. They appeal to everyone, kind of like JS Bach , Antonio Vivaldi, and other baroque classical composers who were Christians. They appeal to all classes, Christians and non Christians. There music is fun and positive.

easily my favorite band of all time saw them live for the first time last Saturday front row Jon grabbed my hand I lost my mind like a little girl at a bieber concert (not that im comparing the 2) I about fainted easily the greatest experience ever plus this song is friggin awesome!!

I totaly met Jon, Chad and Drew at Best Buy in San Antonio,TX. They had a free acoustic concert and they played mess of me, dare you to move and hello hurricane and then they had a meet and greet. Iwas lucky enough to be one of the last ones in line because they just started walking around and talking. Jon autographed a sketchbook i had and he said he liked my drawings. it was awesome!

This song has a really good message that you don't usually hear much in the music industry lol but that's what Switchfoots for.
Switchfoot is more than a legacy band. they can still pump out the hits. if only people recognized this song and other more recent ones instead of "Dare You to Move" or "Meant to Live."

I dont know about that. These guys put on the best show I have ever seen to the biggest crowd I have ever seen at a concert I went to this summer. They played the fest to over 35000 and they blew my mind. And the crowd was fantastic. The part of this song where he is hanging from the camera pole out into the crowd, he actually does that. Waided out into the crowd and climbed up it. He was about 5 ft from where i was standing. Not gonna lie I was freaking out
As a serious musician I have serious props for Switchfoot, where they lack in technical skill with their instruments(they aren't the most skilled in the world, still good) they more than make up for in fantastic, professional, creative songwriting and absolutely brilliant lyrics
