Switchfoot has always adapted their sound to incorporate modern rock elements. I don't understand why people are so surprised by this song. Funk and soft rock have been making strong comebacks. The incredible thing about Switchfoot is that you can always clearly recognize them even with an evolving sound. Can't wait to hear how they have crushed this next musical wave.

Right now they are up in LA recording their 12th album some of the songs are quite old but some of them have been written during the pandemic first album since learning to breathe that they're not recording in their own studio.... Going to be some pain but all some some healing in that music....

Jon wrote this song after a friend of his called him from an area where Isis was terrorizing the place. Jon said he didn't even know what to say or how to respond. So, he did what he does best.. wrote a song.

The moment I knew the music video was shot in Manila, I felt proud and happy that Filipinos can portray such a wonderful video from one of the pillars of foreign bands -- Switchfoot. It gives me so much confidence and enthusiasm that we can be a part of foreign music videos. PROUD PINOY HERE! 👍👍👍

This is one of the poor mentality of filipinos. You should not be proud, dapat nga ikahiya pa at magcontemplate kung anong mali sa video na ito. Ano ba ang dapat iimprove - sa lugar - sa kapaligiran - sa pilipinas. Do not be contented just because someone well known (i.e. celebrity show it for their own purpose). Kaya di tayo nagkakaroon ng room for improvement at napagiiwanan na dahil sa mentality na ganito.

I'm always so impressed that Switchfoot will do unconventional time signatures so smoothly and I'll only realize later that a song of theirs isn't in 4/4.

I've known switchfoot for forever and the thing that makes them a great choice is that there music is so diverse from any other Christian bands.
Really creative, rhythmically, and still works - doesn't feel awkward. 1-2-3-1-2-3-4 (repeating 7s).

I just realized that during the chorus when it's in slow motion, Jon had to sing at double or faster speed so it would sync with the song. Their music videos are always so good and it's obvious lots of thought goes into everything this band does. Switchfoot rocks and always will
