@JoeMurfitt definitely not, British is an accent that people from Britain have, Scottish is an accent that people from Scotland have, same with Welsh and Irish
@war.doesnt.change British people are from Great Britain, which is the whole mainland of England, Scotland and Wales. What Americans commonly call a British accent is one of many English accents but Scotland and hence a Scottish accent is also British.
Ill never forget listening to Currents in my cousins SUV. He has 2 12" subs in a vented box and right at the drop of the break down, we hit a dip in the road that made us 0 gravity for second before falling back in our seats. It was THE most immersive music experience I've ever had and gave me literal goose bumps 😂
a couple of my favorites not mentioned here: Contention - Nuclear Peace 2:42 Nails - imposing will 0:45 (more of a "riffdown") To The Grave - burn Your Local Butcher 2:09 Counterparts - No Lamb Was Lost 1:41 No Cure - Don't Need Your Help 2:52 Infectious Jelqing - ROKE UP IN THE WRONG HOOD 0:18

One of my favorites is Dreamwake - Heatwave 3:20 In a song that’s pretty chill most of the time this breakdown hits you like a truck. The song as a whole is great with the mix of Saxophone with metal and this breakdown really stood out
@ much respect! It had some songs that had some clean vocals but the magic in the bound is seeing them live. They sound like the studio album live. Super good band live
omg that song, one of my favourites oat, I listened to it like a 100 times and every time I’m just as impressed as when I was listening to it the first time. Truly epic
Nik please give “Death Empress” by Synestia and Disembodied Tyrant just one listen. The final breakdown is genuinely the single most universe shadowing thing I’ve ever listened to. Please just take the time to give it a try I promise it won’t disappoint
I have you a challenge! Make a not-crazy song, little vocals tho, in the tempo of a lofi song with slow leads for at least a minute into the song, and then have a crazy drop beat and big blast beats and go crazy on the guitar, and then as the guitar and drums take its place, use a clean or classical guitar as the lead doing the same bits but without the wammy at the end. if u see this, pls do it would be very good song! ggs
Honestly im surprised Fuhai by knosis didnt make it to this list. The breakdown slowing down and down as it goes and the unique riff are such a great mix. Only bit dissapointing thing is the transition back to the chorus but as a breakdown its amazing
I had suffocate at the top of the list, but I hadn't heard that Wage War track (Tombstone) until just now, and the riff down goes SOOO fucking hard. I fucking live for that type of shit.
No face no case dropped one of my tracks of the year, diamond construct dropped one of my albums of the year it’s super hard, this was a great list and let’s see what breakdowns we see next year Keep up the awesome work
4: 30 of Spineless- Enterprise Earth 100% needs an honorable mention the heavy into the quick neck slide *WRRIIINK* bruh so eerie and dark but also just heavy plus lyrics duh...
"To the grave - Dxe or die" my favorite breakdown. Good callout: to the grave mf to standard 2 step breakdown with a breakdown 2.0 in it, and pig sounds. I love that breakdown.
i wish you had reacted to more of this music as it came out during the year- would much prefer that type of content to some of the drama in the scene stuff
Nik you have got to check out this criminally underated band called "Alchemy DMV" they have 150 youtube subscribers they are a band that started posting music this year and their new single "Closure" IS INFECTIOUS, they describe their sound as "Y2K CORE" And they come strong with the late 2000's vibes and im certain you would also like their song "No Regrets" BUT DEFINITELY CHECK OUT THE CLOSURE VIDEO THESE GUYS HAVE POTENTIAL TO BE HUGE THEY JUST NEED SPOTLIGHT!!!
Tottaly not related but... Who ever is familiar with the band Fear Factory... is it safe to say that they are the pioneers in metalcore? I think they were the first band to ever introduce the heavy vocals fallowed by melodic voice
a lot of great breakdowns this year. I prefer the Live version of Suffocate, and my personal favorite for he year is Ice Nin Kills. that one is just so fkn great
Still, my favorite among the fattest breakdowns is Extermination Dismemberment Some people may not like them, someone said it can't be a canonical slam, they're experimenting, but damn, these monstrous bass drops that put the whole track down for a while... It's just 💀💥🔨
0:00 thank god there were only 3 junts, a fourth one and my teenage son would’ve been in tears

Nik only knowing one type of british accent honestly is hilarious when mentioning Sco'ish
Scottish isn’t British
@war.doesnt.change yes it is
@JoeMurfitt definitely not, British is an accent that people from Britain have, Scottish is an accent that people from Scotland have, same with Welsh and Irish
@war.doesnt.changeScotland is part of Britain, I think you’re confusing Britain and England
@war.doesnt.change British people are from Great Britain, which is the whole mainland of England, Scotland and Wales. What Americans commonly call a British accent is one of many English accents but Scotland and hence a Scottish accent is also British.

you gotta check out like moths to a flame worst of me the intro has this really really low sub sound that you can only hear on the big subs
Now i wanna have that experience too 😂 what song was it??
a couple of my favorites not mentioned here:
Contention - Nuclear Peace 2:42
Nails - imposing will 0:45 (more of a "riffdown")
To The Grave - burn Your Local Butcher 2:09
Counterparts - No Lamb Was Lost 1:41
No Cure - Don't Need Your Help 2:52
Infectious Jelqing - ROKE UP IN THE WRONG HOOD 0:18
That whole counterparts ep was god tier
Based to the grave mention. Eight four one six is my absolute favourite off that album it’s sooooo good
tears of joy by chamber is one my faves that weren't mentioned too, that entire song was a breakdown.
some of the ones I think went under appreciated:
HEWAVENSGATE - RATKING 0:06
Traitors - Release 3:13
With Blood Comes Cleansing - Persecution 1:47
The Last Ten Seconds of Life - Doomsday Death Trap 0:34 when bass drum goes retarded
Disfiguring the Goddess - Full Blossom 2:32 shit just sounds funny
Infectious Jelqing deserved a Grammy nomination
I like how Nik has incorporated "Junt" Unironically into his speech since the Jimmy Kimmel thing lol
tbf i have too, it just makes sense lmaoooo
We had to explain 'Junt' to both sides of our family as I got my partner the Junt tee for Xmas so he wore it to our family events 😂
It was just someone trolling
As an absolute prog head, my favourite of the year was VOLA - Cannibal from 3:05 onwards :)
Also, you can't go wrong with that new fit for an autopsy album. Theres so many good options, my personal favorite is the end of Lurch
Red Horizon for me for sure. That beginning made me almost slam my head into the wall
The hi-hat breakdown in Weaker Wolves is sick too
@ red horizon is so good!
I’m a sucker for the callout on Spoils Of The Horde.
@@VicTheMetalDrummer FKN THIEVES!
One of my favorites is Dreamwake - Heatwave 3:20
In a song that’s pretty chill most of the time this breakdown hits you like a truck. The song as a whole is great with the mix of Saxophone with metal and this breakdown really stood out
Too many junts my son cried instantly
Boundaries album is so underrated
It's alright for me.. to be fair, I don't enjoy full scream metal bands. I stay on the pop side of metal so like bad omens and Blessthefall.
@ much respect! It had some songs that had some clean vocals but the magic in the bound is seeing them live. They sound like the studio album live. Super good band live
@@lupehn don't get me wrong, I can tell its a very loved band and I see a lot love for this album.
I don't think it's underrated, it's an AOTY for many people
"Flying the Black Flag" Breakdown of the Year without question 🏆
SPEWING OF HATRED THROUGH MESSAGES...
Yeah fuck, what a breakdown...Bryce's foot work destroyed me.
There needs to be a playlist on Spotify with all the songs whenever you make a video like this
Hellyeah I love that you threw in the 3:37 Bleed from Within Bagpipe breakdown 10/10 haha
Aberrent Waltz was one of my favorite tracks of the year and that is one of the biggest reasons I kept coming back to it.
The Jimmy Kimmel pig squeal moment for Knocked Loose x Poppy was one of my favorite metal moments of all time
Larcenia Roe deserves at least an honorable mention for how unsettling Onlooker is. Solid list overall though
Yes.. I just discovered this band this week and man this band slaps hard.. their breakdown terrified me 😊
Larcenia Roe broke me. So hard and straight up disgusting 🤘🏼
really like the clips of the songs and the progress bar at the buttom to show how far we are into the current part
All the previews left me wanting more. 3 seconds each ain't enough.
Nice picks Nick, but I see no love around channels for Get the Shot - Dominant Predation breakdowns.
omg that song, one of my favourites oat, I listened to it like a 100 times and every time I’m just as impressed as when I was listening to it the first time. Truly epic
4:49 YEAHHHH PEELINGFLESH GOT MENTIONED!!
We need an Inertia review. Found them a week ago and Second Shadow is my metalcore AOTY by a mile.
THANKS NIK, need this series for my gym playlist
Lakeview and Gideon teaming up was the country-core breakdown of the year
If Allt's Ephemeral isnt on the best riffs imma be a sad boi
Nik please give “Death Empress” by Synestia and Disembodied Tyrant just one listen. The final breakdown is genuinely the single most universe shadowing thing I’ve ever listened to. Please just take the time to give it a try I promise it won’t disappoint
That song slaps so hard it would knock out Mike Tyson in his prime. Then signs of the swarm dropped their new song and it was all over
he did
on twitch clip channel
Suffocate is my song of the year!
Pretty much on loop since it was released.
just looped the Kimmel one instead. it was awesome.

I feel like Bloodworm by Kingdom of Giants 2:14 deserves an honorable mention here.
not including Counterparts was a crime
Counterparts hasn't been relevant since Prophets.
@@GFauxfoxThat doesn't mean that they don't put out good music anymore though. Eulogy and Heaven Let Them Die are both good imo.
This man speaks truth. The new EP is 🔥
@@Crcmvnt pure anger, I lost my shit on my first listen
@@GFauxfoxand you are?
Forgotten by The Plot in You is my favorite breakdown callout of 2024. The way it builds with an entire bridge is just fantastic.
SLAM MENTIONED 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I learned about Boundaries like a month ago. Thier newest album is awesome
FFAA - Spoils Of The Horde is probably my favourite. That callout sends chills down my spine every time
5:20 yes, diamond construct is such a good band , I hope alot of people check them out
I would also have put brekadowns from Get the shot - Dominant predation and Pintglass - Site Mentality
And YES I like Paleface
Yea imo having a breakdown list without paleface is a crime
The ending riff of FLOATING FACE DOWN by 10 To the Chest is my favorite riff of this year. So fucking hard
YES!!! I always love Thrown stuff. this band is amazing, and honestly love Marcus Lundqvist scream so Angry
i love the breakdown in Thoughts&Prayers from Motionless in White 😂😂😂
one of my favorites is tavern - netherwalker you can pick either the one at the beginning or the last minute of the song
Honestly im surprised Fuhai by knosis didnt make it to this list. The breakdown slowing down and down as it goes and the unique riff are such a great mix. Only bit dissapointing thing is the transition back to the chorus but as a breakdown its amazing
Dude, how awesome is the Groovedown of "the Calm that keeps you Awake"?!
There must be a mistake, there's no Worm Shepherd - The anguished throne
Nik not mentioning The Browning? Something must be wrong in the timeline.
indeed the new album is so sick xD
I liked the "Red Horizons" breakdown even more from FFAA
I had suffocate at the top of the list, but I hadn't heard that Wage War track (Tombstone) until just now, and the riff down goes SOOO fucking hard. I fucking live for that type of shit.
ah yes, the junt song where everybody talks about.

INK mentioned makes me happy, thank you
how could bro forget about jiluka's dubstep skrillexcore breakdown
If my band ever gets on your channel for something like this (once we have a release) I can die happy.
Jinjer not being on here is beyond me. Rogue and Green Serpent easily have some of the best breakdowns I’ve heard in a long time.
Half Me, Bleed From Within, Boundaries, Unprocessed, Kublai Khan, Whitechapel & Knocked Loose all made my 2024 Breakdown List with many others! \m/
4: 30 of Spineless- Enterprise Earth 100% needs an honorable mention the heavy into the quick neck slide *WRRIIINK* bruh so eerie and dark but also just heavy plus lyrics duh...

U gotta react to Tavern from Netherwalker. I've never heard of this band but GOD DAMN the breakdown broke me down for sure
Oh shit, tyty, I didn't even realize No Face No Case had new shit out. Agreed on wishing they were bigger.
Good Morning by ten56. the "welcome to hell" callout right before is so good
Sleep token take me back to eden's outro/breakdown 7:16 is my favorite
the browning released a sick album this year xD but great video
i wish you had reacted to more of this music as it came out during the year- would much prefer that type of content to some of the drama in the scene stuff
2 of the best breakdowns I've heard this year are;
Kingdom of Bone by Crucible of Absolution.
Bound Before a Tyrant by Blackwater Cove.

Best breackdowns of the year for me:
1. Lizzy hale&I prevail-Can you see me in the dark;
2. AVRALIZE-OVERDOSE;
3. INERTIA - TOO FAR GONE.
the last sight is the band that reminds me of 2004 metalcore. I can only recommend them.
a lot of great breakdowns this year. I prefer the Live version of Suffocate, and my personal favorite for he year is Ice Nin Kills. that one is just so fkn great
Wasnt the new dexcore song that dropped last month a breakdown compilation?
Breakdown Hall of Fame would be a fun (although quite daunting) idea for a video (series)!
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
you should do a spotify play list for all these song every year
The new Distant album is so heavy and any breakdown on there could be on a best of list in my opinion 🤘
I was a big fan of the breakdown in Blood Moon by Sunfall. I haven't shut up about that song this year
I do think Mindframe by Silent Planet should have been in here. their breakdowns are insane
Kublai Khan TX being on here is well deserved, they're probably my favorite band rn 🤟
May I suggest checking out a new live video of them in Cleveland
@misterbaker9728 Sounds interesting, thanks for the recommendation
Shadows are Security breakdowns are my fav
Tell me you made a spotify play list for this list!
Would have personally included In Hearts Wake - The Flood in there
Left to Suffer - Lost in the Dark not being included is wild.
Can you do more symphonic songs with CORE-like song?
Still Hurts by Grayscale Season is definitely my favourite of the year and honestly one of the best ever if I'm being honest
