John Wig if anything, their deaths shows that no character was safe. (Atleast in season 2). I was genuinely fearing for their lives after Veronica and Abruzzi got axed that way.
Quball87 Yeah I disagreed with the fact that they killed him off. If they did it later in season 4 it would’ve been fine but the fact that they just spent an entire season breaking him out only to be killed in the first episode sucked. I really liked his character.
Season 3 was cut short by the writers strike. It is very likely they had planned another plot line entirely for Whistler. But when they sat down to outline season 4, they concluded that the third season Panama format didn't go down that well with the fans. So they decided to get rid of everything: Sona, Panama and all the season 3 characters would go (Gretchen was originally going to be killed during the Mojave scene in the premiere; they even filmed Wytt plugging her and her dead body dropping to the ground). Plus of course that the actor playing Whistler got a lead part on another show.
I love how the pilot of season 4 is just basically a whole middle finger to season 3: -Sara: "Not actually dead, I don't know whose idea it was to kill her in season 3" -Whistler: "You know what? Fuck this character. Let's kill him in the first 20 minutes" -Sucre, T-bag and Bellick: "Yeah, we were planning for a whole like subplot of them in Sona... But fuck Sona, let's magically just get them out of there" -Mahone and his drug addiction: "Let's just forget about that. He's clean now."
@69sub? S2 was incredibly long. There was pre Utah money, and post Utah. I think first part of S2 was cool. After they dug out the money it got so desperate for plot twists it got boring
Just like Veronica's death at the start of the season, both the actors for Veronica and Whistler couldn't stay for the whole season as they alr signed for roles in other films
Is not the same. Veronica's death was the message that no one is safe, plus the character had already unmasked all the falsehood. In the case of Whistler, well, really that, along with the resurrection of Sara and the escape of Bellick, T Bag and Sucre, well, the series itself tells you that season 3 is rubbish but for me it's Scorsese compared to season 4 with what The only salvageable thing was the relationship between Michael and Sara, T Bag posing as a salesman and Mahone's character.
@@danielmartinezmayoral6959 Veronica was only killed because her actor wanted out. Same with Abruzzi's actors. Say what you will about the writing but most of the bad deaths on this show were out of their control (except Kellerman, killing him off in s5 was a dumb move) Atleast Abruzzi had a great death. Can't say the same for Veronica or Whistler.
When I first saw this I was stocked and pissed at the same time. Becuase michiel spent that whole time trying to get him out of prison and James was given so much character then he just gets straight up shot in the head. What a waste of potential character
At this point I quit the show, I’ve heard it takes a downturn from here and I can see it ahead of me, with 20+ hours of the season, I wasn’t about to sit through it when they immediately kill off a character they built up so hard
Thats why the 4th season was such a letdown, the first episode Is a fest of cheap plot devices Whistler randomly killed after a whole season trying to save him, Sarah rabdomly been found like nothing happen, Sucre, T-bag and bellick escaping sona after a whole season of making the plan to escape Anyway this season was a dissapoint
1:16 anyone notice whistlers face it’s like he knew the bullet was coming even though it was behind him, seemed like season 4 had a lot of lazy and rushed editing
Al that hard work in season 3 😂and that season 4 episode 1 bye bye james
Same with Veronica. Appeared in every episode of a season, then died in the first episode of the next season.
@@yannizo They killed Veronica's character because she had other roles in other movies/series as well
@@johnwig285 John Abruzzi too, IRC.

season 3 was basically a filler season
All that hard work and the many sacrifices that were made for a guy who gets killed after the plan succed
Yea....
He did it because of sara and LJ

@@darth856 I know it’s been 2 years but would you mind explaining about the writer strike?
They didn't need him anymore
I see the whistler actor as a James bond type. He definitely should have lived longer
His death came really surprisingly but that dude was very uncharismatic to watch in the whole 3rd Season 😑
Fr ❤️

Ikr this makes season 3 look redundant
Sara's actor is pregnant that's why they killed her temporarily
Season 1-2 = Very good
Season 3 = meh
Season 4 = WTF is this ?
no. season 3 was gold

the truth about whistler's plan is really mind blowing
what truth??
Damn first comment in 3 years and the person doesn’t even get the joke lol

Wyatt was so terrifying
eh to me he was bland. No expression, no emotion no nothing...
@@seriousaleks8752that's why he's terrifying. It makes him stand out from the smug likes of Gretchen, S1 Kellerman, Bill Kim etc
KEEP IT REAL THO. THE WYATT CHARACTER WAS BADASS!!
Savage Boul wasn’t so badass when Mahone got ahold of him lmao
Black Lightning previous career as an assassin
He was same than mahone in season 2 he tried to say it before he died
Dixie Normis Badass while he lasted.
hi
All that work to destroy him ughhh
They built the character for the entire season 3 and they just killed him in the first episode of season 4 ??

To make a bell sound terrifying shows how good of a show you are
12 years now :d forget about how old this show is
the most anticlimactic event in the whole show.
Wyatt badass. Underrated Cress Williams performance.
I would have liked to see a "confrontation" between wyatt and kellerman, or at least a dialogue

Misery M. Who?
Whistler!
why?
SharX I don’t know. I really liked him in both seasons so I don’t know how he’s a bad actor.
I thought the guy who played Whistler did a great job as Whistler.
