  • United Airlines Boeing 777-300ER landing into San Francisco International Airport. Originating from Newark Liberty International Airport. KEWR-KSFO. This flight was almost 6 hours long and had the new Polaris business class. The new Polaris was great and I look forward to it being in more planes. Seat 9A. N2331U. New Spirit of United.

    Don't see the 777 (especially the 777-300ER) used for too many domestic flights so I'm glad you uploaded this!

    Great video, I was working that day too at SFO. You guys might not notice but SIngapore Airlines A350-900 to SIN was taxing to takeoff.

    Smooth landing considering the storm clouds. Landing at SFO is freaky because all you see is water up until the last min. then there is the runway.

    So happy the United 777-300er is here. Really can't wait for the A350-1000. And 787-10. Beautiful new fleet let's just hope the service equals the new great fleet

      The only reason UA got the 77W is so they could accelerate retirement of the 744's. Since they made economy 10 across, they have almost the same number of seats as the 744's did, and the Polaris section pretty much equals the number of Business First and Global First seats that the 744's have. Originally the A350-1000 was supposed to replace the 744. Apparently they got a good deal from Boeing as the 789 production line has a hefty backlog, while they're trying to fill in all the remaining 777 production slots to transition to the 77X. I assume the remaining 789's and 7810's still on order will replace the remaining 763's and the A350-1000 will be converted to the A359 to replace the oldest 772's or any remaining 767 aircraft. Right now the oldest aircraft in UA's fleet is the 763's. Some have been reconfigured to the Continental interior, while others remain with the pre-merger UA interior.

      Just don't bring your dog on the plane. Your dog will die. Or it will end up on the other side of the world. If either happened, the flight crew would beat you up and drag you off the plane. And nobody on the plane would help you. All the passengers would just stare in shock as if they walked into the lavatory thinking it was the Mile High Club.

    Awesome video! Sad there wasn't another flight landing in tandem. Those are cool to see! Like it's a race to see who's gonna land first. Haha

    Awesome video over the Sierras! I was wondering at what point does the pilot monitor SFO Arrivals? Is the vector to SFO over Antioch/Discovery Bay?

      they don't "retrofit" new wings or engines onto a plane. They may swap the engines, but not retrofit to a different type.

    Is it scary landing this close to sea??

    I like this Airplane, but I'm sad that its purpose at United is to expedite the imminent replacement of the 747-400. We'll see a lot more of these on trans-pacific flights, and less 744s, especially from United's San Francisco hub.

    smooth ass landing pilot must be a veteran of flying a rookie would have not handled that wind turbulence on approach on landing

    • @jviation737
      @jviation737 7 лет назад +1

      All crew are trained to handle it, regardless if they are a "rookie" (not the best term to use there, as for a 77W Type-rating, you'd have quite a logbook)

      Believe it or not, some 777 & 744 FO's can be really young pilots, my dad flies with young FO's all the time on the 777, some with not much commercial flying time at all. My dad knew a guy that got hired on American recently at age 47 and he's already an FO on the 757.

      I'm sure the computer flew it on the approach, some pilots hand fly it if they aren't too lazy.

      Most pilots who find themselves behind the yoke of one of these behemoths have a quite a few hours in their log book.

    id say united only allow their more experienced 777 pilots fly this at the moment
