- Ever wonder what that long string of numbers up by your car's windshield translates to? It's the Vehicle Identification Number, and its far from a random string of numbers and characters. Each digit has a meaning that can tell you where your car was manufactured, what kind of engine it has and more. Here's how it works.
Correction .. 1:53 ...that code tells your the model year , not when it was built .. there is a difference . For example , a car can be built in late 2010 but it is a 2011 model year .. that code on the vin tells you the year model and NOT necessarily the year it was built . I just bought a 2018 camry SE... but why does the VIN says its an LE.. is it possible that the dealership switched the front and back bumper just to make me feel i bought and payed for an SE
L is a more common first digit in a VIN code nowadays because L stands for China.
Um dude your wrong they do use the Q letter in a vin my old car from 1976 had a Q in its Vin

@RnB123100 You'd have to find a VIN codec for Honda to know that. Honda and/or the Govt will have that.
@RnB123100 it wont be correct, but if someone sees it in the future they are gonna know what engine came with the car originally.
@ilovecats748 well i ask becouse its the same engine,just i got the ''A'' instead of the original ''A1'' (the A is imported from japan and has better parts,takes more boost) but yea i think my vins incorect.thxs :)

It is a good one off product for getting paid to drive without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend Sam at last got astronomical success with it.
