Amazing review. It's been my only watch for 2 years, and you talked about the little details I've ended up noticed through wearing it as the Explorer feeling with the glossy black dial and luxury feeling polished seconds hand. For me it definitely fits my idea of a perfect watch, or at least what I want from my daily companion. I feel it's made to go hiking in the mountains of old Welsh lost islands or discovering mayan ruins in Mexico, as well as getting married with your best attires. I know it cause i did all of that with it. Kind of sad to see that Serica's new field watch will change reference and probably some design features, but also excited to see what they do with it.. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on a watch that means so much to me! Nice to hear other people's thoughts on it.

How is the 4512 a "compromise"? It is an obvious design icon, dressy, modern, superb aesthetics, perfect proportions, great functionality and wearing comfort with a very subtle field watch theme. I have literally been waiting for this watch for decades because it is without competition. Wearing nothing else anymore and gratefully so (California version).
Thanks for your comment. You make strong arguments in favor of the 4512 and I'm glad to hear that it's become your everyday wearer. I didn't mean anything negative with the word "compromise", only that in making it a luxury Field watch, it will please some and distance others.
